Yeah. I was joking about how many times the mentioned it.vball10set;1332480 wrote:As Jay Williams said, that's not a reason, just an excuse. It was a good win. Period. -
PrescottThe real strory from the challenege is that Illinois defeated Georgia Tech even though they won the Maui Championship. To overcome the fatrigue and get that victory took an amazing effort by the Illini.

He's not the best PG in the country; he's the best defender in the country.SportsAndLady;1332360 wrote:Bucks choked that one away...I was rooting for those Dukies to lose a home OOC game finally.
Craft, wtf man what are you doing
No way he's the best PG in the country, no way -
AutomatikYeah, no way he's the best PG. He's up there, but his offensive game lacks big time.

No I'm the OSU guy who actually went to the school he roots for and before OSU was good at basketball. You're the worst(read: most bandwagon) fan on this site, by a long shot. Get a life.reclegend22;1332378 wrote:Is sleeper that guy in the OSU crowd that dresses up like a mentally retarded cowboy? He's the worst (read: most insufferable) fan on this site, by a long shot. Especially since Duke historically gets all the calls; EVERY GAME.AllOhio;1332423 wrote:Coach K is obviously one of the greatest ever but, is it just me or does he whine about every single foul called against his team?! -

I don't care if you are Archie Griffin, and I certainly don't care what school you went to. As a BGSU alumn, I'd be willing to bet that more than half of the Ohio State fans on this board probably went to a MAC school. STFU. -

LOL you're mad because your friends know you are a bandwagon fan. How does that feel?reclegend22;1332558 wrote:SUPER FAN ALERT.

AutomatikI remember the days when I rooted for OSU hoops and my friends would clown me. They were reppin UNC (Vince Carter days), Dook, KU, UK. F all that!!

Laley23Midstate01;1332384 wrote:But you could also look at it and say osu shot 34% and lost by 6 AT duke who's probably the best team in the country based on what they've done early on.
They won't shoot 34% too often, maybe not again the rest of the year.
But still I understand what you're saying as well.
Oh, they will be tough. Super athletic and great defensively. But some of those misses were not even close, and they were WIDE open shots. The same players who struggled last year fro outside are still struggling. Thats the biggest concern I would have. Not that they lost, I expected that, but how they lost is a bit of a concern. -

Believe me, Duke is not on MY TV more than anyone. Just because their games are broadcast more than most doesn't mean I choose to watch them...this is 2012, there are alot of other games on TV. I have watched a ton of bball in my lifetime and on the few occasions I do watch Duke he is whining every call! Even though the majority of the calls are the right calls! He reminds me of a bratty kid that is so accustomed to getting his way that he throws a hissyfit when something doesn't go his way. Please do not tell me why my opinions are formulated.reclegend22;1332513 wrote:No, it doesn't. You are entitled to that opinion. But it is likely that you just think Coach K whines more than everyone else because of the fact that he is on TV more than the Lakers. Dean Smith whined more than almost anyone, ever. And back when UNC used to be on television more than anyone else, just like K and Duke are the most hated insitution in all of college basketball today, Anybody But Carolina ruled the day. It's just a product of how much Duke plays in your living room. -
lhslep134Ohio State beat themselves. If Craft/Williams don't miss so many open (in Craft's case) or easy (in William's case) shots near the hoop Duke is put away. Missing those shots allowed Duke to claw back.
Duke is not a better team than Ohio State, and we'll see that in March. They are a very good team, but they also beat a UK team that isn't anywhere as good as their ranking (yet), a Louisville team without Dieng, and OSU at home with Craft's worst offensive game.
Congrats to Duke, but they're not clearly better than OSU. -

LOL I don't care. Half the people I know are North Carolina fans, and many of them have never even been to the state. Like me with Duke, they either had family members who were already big fans of the team or began rooting for the Heels at a very young age because of the widespread availability of UNC games on TV. For me, it was a combination of all of the above plus having visited Coach K's camp several times as a kid. Like a heroin addict, that was all it took for me to become as hooked.sleeper;1332561 wrote:LOL you're mad because your friends know you are a bandwagon fan. How does that feel?
Explaining this to you means absolutely nothing, I get that, but there are no instructions for being a true fan. As long as you stick with your team through the glory years as well as the down ones, and never waver, you're a fan. I'd also add the caveat that it's more respectable to have watched the team from a very young age (middle school or before), but that's just my opinion. It's really as simple as that. -

Thanks, and with all due respect to sleeper, I could care less what he considers me to be-lol. I was born in Toledo, went to school there, but have always loved THE OSU (passed down from my dad, I'm sure). I'm sure that's the way it is with most people, who develop a love for a team/school for one reason or another. Yes, bandwagon fans are annoying, but success breeds followers, right?reclegend22;1332596 wrote:WHOA!!! I wonder if Sleeper considers you one of the passengers on the lead wagon? Lol. How can it be bandwagon when you were born in Ohio? Anyone in Ohio gets a pass to root for Ohio State if they so choose. No one in Ohio rooting for Duke should be respected at all.vball10set;1332610 wrote:Thanks, and with all due respect to sleeper, I could care less what he considers me to be-lol. According to Captain Jack's Guidebook To Being A Real Fan -- I am not accusing you of being him, but rather that it's highly probable that both of you live inside of the same body -- the "Rule of Authenticity" states that a true fan must support the athletic program of the school in nearest geographical proximity to the place of their birth. Therefore, if somebody lives in Akron and goes to school at Akron, then they cannot be a true fan if they support Ohio State.sleeper;1332655 wrote:How can it be bandwagon when you were born in Ohio? We all know, of course, that you and Captain Jack and Isaodore are utterly full of shit and complete contradictions of yourselves. My question would be two-fold. First off, why do you pretend to be 10 different people on the Internet? When did you decide that this is something that you were going to commit yourself to? Whatever the reason, it's bizarre behavior. Very atypical for an adult. Actually, that's the only question that matters. -

It's not my problem you lose all credibility and respect over a sports team you clearly follow because they are good. Enjoy!reclegend22;1332752 wrote:According to Captain Jack's Guidebook To Being A Real Fan -- I am not accusing you of being him, but rather that it's highly probable that both of you live inside of the same body -- the "Rule of Authenticity" states that a true fan must support the athletic program of the school in nearest geographical proximity to the place of their birth. Ironman92Anyone still care/think the ball went out of bounds on the Duke player late in the game? I have video to prove otherwise if anyone gives a shit.
No one is ever wrong on this site so I'll guess interest is not there. -
AutomatikI thought it went out on OSU as soon as the whistle blew.
Who gives a shit anyway, that play didn't win/lose the game.
