This is Ohio, we've got a thread for Duke, we need one for the Bucks. Discuss

OSU fans will begin thinking about bball after next Saturday's game with Michigan.College basketball games at this time of the year meanb very little because teams will grow and change over the next few months.

They looked good today. Thomas catches fire and can't miss. Craft is much more aggressive as well. And his hesitation move is tough. I don't think they're the #4 team in the country, but they're probably top 12

Agree, Definitely not # 4 right now. Amir Williams needs to develop (doesn't look any better than last year) still can't make free throws or rebound. Ross looks slow, I was hoping for big things from him but it's early. Smith Jr. needs to be consistant on offense, he can't have games where he doesn't score this year (like today). Overall they looked ok but a lot of work needs to be done. You're right Thomas and Craft look real good.

Greg Oden on the broadcast on BTN right now.
  • Automatik
    Oden is the man.

Greg told some good stories today about his duels with George Mikan. They were very interesting.

    This is just plain stupid.

Anyway, IMO Craft has regressed offensively, and he needs to find his shot if OSU wants to make any noise in the B1G this season, let alone any kind of run in March.

You need to retake basic English.

    He's 24.

Ross looked good yesterday, although the competition was rather weak.

You gotta admit Oden looks terribly old. He seems like a really nice guy. But there is no wonder that his career was so marred by injury. He looks like Jack.

I think OSU is in for a year in which they will lose to some teams they should defeat. The perimeter shooting is pitiful and it is not just one person. Scott, Craft, and Smith all contribute.Couple that with no inside game game to speak of and you have a recipe for disaster. Teams will continue to go underneath the screens and pay more attention to the the screener, Thomas, than they do the shooter. Maybe, they are just in a slump, but history indicates they just aren't good shooters. I am sure they will continue to work and , hopefully, the hard work translates into success on game day.

...and Plumlee looks like a beanstalk, so what?

Are you upset? I am just making an observation. This is a message board, a place where observations are made.

But to answer your "so what," I have already given my explanation for why I think it matters. It would appear to me that Greg has a body that just grew faster and larger than the average person's, and thus aged more rapidly as a result of all of the physical stress it has been through over the years of participating in such continuous, grueling activity for a human being of Oden's size and probably "condition." I think is very likely that Oden suffers from a form of gigantism. He displays many of the classic signs and symptoms, including prominent facial lines and cheekbones, enlarged jaw, overgrown forehead, abnormal spacing of teeth, and declining health with age (see his NBA career that never even happened as a result of excess of injuries that were directly related to his injury).

And, BTW, Mason Plumlee is far from a beanstalk. While tall and naturally thin-framed, he is a beast. I know this sounds weird, but have you seen his body this year? Do I have to post pictures of his muscles? He was a monster amongst men against Ohio State. He couldn't be stopped.

I've only been able to catch a few games so far, but Im having a hard time figuring out the best 5 for this team going down the road. I think Thomas, Ross, and Williams all need to be on the floor, but do you go with Scott and Craft? Craft and Thompson? Craft and Smith? Or dare I say, Scott and Smith? I know Ross and Williams are inexperienced, but the ceiling for this lineup with those 2 is very very high. I really think Scott needs to be on the floor more as well. You gotta love Crafts defense and intensity, but I see his offense being the death of this team in the tournament and others during the season.

Craft is still a way better offensive player than Scott.

This diversion from the actual point of my post proves my point. Mason Plumlee is a beast. Not a beanstalk.

This is an OSU thread. He's a tall nerd. Go ooo and awe over his muscles in the Duke thread.

The only thing this proves is your unhealthy infatuation with a college kid. Period.

The muscles comment was sarcasm based off another thread in the Serious Business forum in which the story of Buckeye superfan Liteinthetunnel posting a picture on the Huddle of Jon Diebler flexing was recounted.

But yeah, Plumlee destroyed your front line. Keep diverting from that fact.

Without my posts on this thread, there wouldn't be any OSU basketball discussion. There were three posts before this conversation struck up :D

the Huddle? wtf does that have to do with posting here??

I'm confused as to why what I said is confusing to you.

You: Mason Plumlee is a beanstalk (insinuating a tall, thin, weak player, or as Automatik phrased it, "a tall dork."
Me: He's a beast. He has a very strong frame compared to previous seasons. Do I need to post a picture of his muscles? [that was the sarcastic part]

It didn't having anything to do with the Huddle. That Liteinthetunnel story was just recounted the other day in the Serious Business forum and I simply referenced it. Not sure what you are attempting to prove, but you clearly are making a much bigger situation out of it than what it really is. Again, Mason Plumlee manhandled OSU. That's the point.

As for the Buckeyes, just curious, who is the top recruit coming in their class next fall? Any shooters to perhaps help Craft and company out on the wing next year? I imagine that Thomas will have an opportunity to go first round if he continues to play at the rate he has, but I'm not sure on what the likelihood of him leaving is.
