14-0! Thad sucka can learn a thing or many from Coach K!Midstate01;1358460 wrote:I'm really sorry your team could only beat that sucky team by single digits. -
thedynasty1998Next 3 games are brutal.

Prescott10-6..............Only in your dreams........ Craft's offense sucks, but who on this team other than Thomas and Smith does any better. Thompson is highlight film around the basket , but can't create his own offense. Scott throws up enough bricks to build a two-car garage. Ravenal and Williams are basically useless. Ross should never ever dribble the ball......I'd say more like 6-10 and an NIT bid, maybe.

Crimson streakBuckeye fans don't realize how big of a loss Buford was. He was the guy that could hit from the outside and could create his own shot. He spread the defense a lot due to his jumper. Ohio st doesn't have that guy this year and teams are just packing it in on them and there struggling because of it.

rightfieldRoss and Williams have to come of age quickly or we are in trouble.

trep14Matta made a huge mistake not offering trey burke

The "smh" is because this subject has been discussed ad nauseam. In retrospect, of course Matta would love to have Burke, but he didn't have a crystal ball to see what kind of player Trey would turn out to be. He was rated a 3-star recruit in high school, and not everyone was clamoring for his services...and now he's making a lot of coaches look foolish for not courting him. Recruiting is an inexact science, as some players turn out to be better than others--you win some, you lose some.trep14;1358853 wrote:What? -

All this is true. Ill just add that you never like to lose guys in your own college city. State is ok, lots to pick from, but even 3 star guys often get offered because you dont want to lose guys from schools who will have ties to the program in years to come.vball10set;1358872 wrote:The "smh" is because this subject has been discussed ad nauseam. 2nd thing is the fact he was Sullys teammate, and it stings more.
I understand what you mean, but it wasnt your typical player who was undervalued. It was the teammate of a current player who played in the backyard at one of, if not the most, recruited high school for your program (Northland). -
PrescottI think Matta offered Scott very early. Maybe, that was the mistake.
If Burke had been one year older I have little doubt that he would have been a Buckeye. Then again, he would be gone this year just like Sullinger.
If I am Matta I am dropping Ross from the rotation and inserting Amedeo Della Valle. Ross must be a good practice player, but against good competition he chokes. Give Della Valle a shot. -

Great points, but it wasn't the fact that he wasn't offered that had me shaking my head, it's because it's been talked about over and over and over again. We Buckeye fans get it, we missed out on a good one, but we can't change it. Next.Laley23;1358916 wrote:All this is true. Ill just add that you never like to lose guys in your own college city. Agree with that. The debate was pretty much settled last year on here lolvball10set;1358957 wrote:Great points, but it wasn't the fact that he wasn't offered that had me shaking my head, it's because it's been talked about over and over and over again. se-alumThad needs to look at some JUCO's for a shooter this summer.

thedynasty1998
No! For whatever reason I feel like Thad reaches on JUCO's and transfers. I would much rather see the current guys develop and get a HS guy. I would think someone like Macdonald transfers to open up a scholarship.se-alum;1359172 wrote:Thad needs to look at some JUCO's for a shooter this summer. -

We have a transfer on the team right now who came from D-II. Bad thing is, according to his profile, he wasn't very good while in D-II. I think his highlight was 14 points in one game. Unbelievable -
Midstate01Love watching trey play. But it's a bad argument. Coaches miss on players... But Matta got an all American pg in Scott, Burke was a 3* guy,who for the longest time, his best offer was penn state. Sure I'd love to have trey on this team... But I don't blame anyone for it.
It'll be nice to have a team with a lot of 4 year guys for once as well. Not that I don't love the one or two year guys who are awesome. But I do also enjoy players who stay too. -

FatHobbitHow many wins do you think the bucks will finish with this season? I know the sky is falling, but I'm looking at the schedule now and I have a bad feeling. We play @Purdue, Michigan at home and then @ Michigan State. I'm afraid we're going to start the season 1-3 in the B1G. After that I imagine wins against Iowa, @PSU, @Nebraska, Northwestern and @Northwestern but not too many more...
edit - I guess there is plenty of room for improvement but right now I have a bad feeling about this season. -
AutomatikI wasn't able to watch. I didn't read the recap, just saw we got smoked.
Can someone sum up the game in 3 sentences or less? GO! -

Illinois was better offensively. Illinois was better defensively. Illinois was better coached.Automatik;1359480 wrote:I wasn't able to watch. I didn't read the recap, just saw we got smoked.
