B1G 2012

Wow that is brutal looking at those schedules. Will be an awesome next 2 months following the B1G. The conference tournament will be incredible as well. Really thinking about going to Chicago for it as Friday to Sunday will all be fantastic.

B1G is the best conference in the nation. No doubt.

I am a fan of uptempo basketball, but I enjoy watching Bo Ryan's team play. The last eight minutes has been rough for the Badgers, though, as IU has really turned up the defensive pressure behind Oladipo. But that's primarily because Wisconsin does not have a true point guard.
lol. I cant stand to watch them play.

    Fuck the Grinch too.
I hate Wisconsin more than Purdue I think. At least we beat Purdue. Seriously...I dont know what it is, but IU cannot beat Wisconsin. 11 straight loses.

I think he was good when athletically he wasn't worse then everyone else IU has, but now he is their most unathletic player and he just doesn't seem to fit in. And he was getting blown by easily by his man. I think he's pretty overrated.
He played poor last night. But he has like a 3.5/1 A/TO ratio and is shooting over 50% from 3. If he plays poorly, IU struggles. When he plays well, IU is almost unbeatable. If he isnt on the floor, that turns to IU struggling just like if he played poor. He has to be on the floor 30+ minutes a game.

In terms of overrated? Thats debatable. Not sure anyone thinks he is All B1G or anything. Id say, 3rd team at best at this point in time. Thats being pretty generous. That said, he is VERY key to IU and success this year. The only true threat from long range. Others can shoot the ball, but he can legit stretch the floor and hit a contested 3 etc, etc, etc.

As for the game...players have to execute. But seriously, Tom Crean has some MAJOR issues he needs to work out. 1 point game he goes to the bench. Line-up was Sheehey, Perea, Hollowell, Abel and I think Watford. Now, all those players are good and capable of fulfilling their role...but at the same time??? Fuck no. When Zeller and Oladipo came back in, they were down 8. Thats just ridiculous, imo.

Again, players have to play. Sheehey is averaging about 11.5 ppg. He hasnt scored in 80 minutes of gametime...or 2 full games. ZERO points from the "best 6th man" around. Unacceptable. Oladipo also disappeared, but I think Wisconsin deserves a lot of credit for that. IU, especially at home, has to impose their will and get into a more uptempo game.

Oh well, thank God I was smashed last night and also only got to watch the last 7 minutes of the game. But, that is a major, major hit to the B1G title chances. Indiana is gonna need some big time road wins and cannot stumble at home again.

I was all excited to have a free night to watch basketball.

And then I saw that tonight's first B1G game has Penn State and the second has Nebraska. That just isn't fucking fair...with all the good-to-great teams in the conference, why the hell do those two have to be on the same night? There should be a conference rule that Penn State and Nebraska can't play during the same day unless it's against each other...in which case the Big 10 Network should have the choice of either airing it or two-year-old episodes of The Journey.

You do have NCSU/Maryland on ESPN2. Future B1G?

Almost had my hopes up, but I remember recently reading that some recent Maryland player said he was embarrassed by how they were playing, so that might be more of the same.

Ah well, maybe I'll be lucky and one of these games will be surprisingly good.

MSU players in a fight this morning. Dawson and Payne wont start. Too bad PSU is still so terrible they could go without those 2 all game and still win.

By "without those two" you mean play 3-on-5, right? Because I agree with you.

    PLEASE, IZZO!!!!

The games last night were better than I feared. Which isn't saying much, considering...

    1. The first was surprisingly close because two key players for MSU were suspended for the first half.

    AND

    2. The second wound up kind of close after Nebraska make a futile late comeback after being handled for most of the game.

Gophers better show up in the first half tonight or i'mma dragon kick a baby.

This is one I had as an L for Michigan. But so far they are playing well and Hardaway is on fire.
  • gorocks99
Yeah, with Michigan shooting this well it's over. Gophers suck again tonight in the first half, god fucking damnit. My school can't do anything right.

I think you spoke a little too soon, rocks, I have a feeling it's gonna' be a helluva second half.

Or Michigan is gonna run roughshod over them. They look lazy and disinterested.

Yep, I'm done watching. Embarrassing. Don't deserve to sniff the top 25 until they can prove they won't shit themselves against top competition like they've done every. single. time. this year.

Still not convinced MSU is top competition. They've yet to play any of the top dogs in the league yet.

Yeah MSU doesn't impress me. But Gophers are trying to mount a comeback. Don't give up yet.
