aka, gambling. That, and Vegas is smart. I gave up on teasers and parlays. SOOOOO freaking hard to hit ONE game, let alone 3-4-5=etc games. I dont care how many pts you get to spread around lol.reclegend22;1359414 wrote:WTF is going on in Minneapolis. I need the Gophers to win by nine over a depleted and terrible Northwestern team to finish off my three-game teaser and win me $100 and they have 11 points with under five minutes to go in the first half? My luck is unbelievable. -

I've actually been extremely fortunate recently with my teasers, having successfully picked up three in the last week. Won big yesterday on a combo of Illinois, Detroit and Notre Dame. But I totally agree, I gave up on parlays long ago. The payout is great, but the success rate is almost zero.Laley23;1359423 wrote:aka, gambling. That, and Vegas is smart. Azubuike24Booked a Vegas trip for March 12-15th, Tuesday through Friday of Championship Week. So, I wonder what there will be to bet on?

That will be an extremely fun time to be in Vegas. Wish I was going out at that time. I will actually be there the following month, in late April. So likely no sports betting for me, unless I want to test the NBA waters, which I rarely have luck with. -
Azubuike24I've heard it's a complete nightmare trying to go there during the first weekend of the NCAA's. I'm making the trip with my dad, and it's always been a dream for us to go to Vegas together and just sit in the Sportsbook and bet on bball.
Maybe if I get lucky on a few and clean up in blackjack, I'll bet some NBA. Not likely. It's a death wish. -
reclegend22Bovada, I'll take my hundred in ones, thanks. The first half of the Minny game was rough, but it worked out. Phew.
That will be awesome. And yeah, if you're gonna bet on the NBA, you might as well just drop your wallet off at the casino and catch a flight home. Or maybe I just have the worst of luck. I love the NBA, but it fucking hates me. Ha.Azubuike24I've heard it's a complete nightmare trying to go there during the first weekend of the NCAA's. Really? Man I for some reason totally own betting on the NBA. I put $30 on Bovada when I started and now I have like $350 from mostly NBAreclegend22;1359471 wrote:Bovada, I'll take my hundred in ones, thanks. The first half of the Minny game was rough, but it worked out. Phew.

Yeah, but I think it's mostly because I tend to second guess myself too much, and then pick something that just seems more logical and then lose. For instance, I went to sleep on Thursday night knowing that I was going to take Portland over Memphis in Memphis on Friday night, seeing as how Portland was riding a nice road trip and was sitting at +330. After watching the line all day long, right before the tip, I decided to not pick it. Portland wins anyway. Oh well. I cleaned up on Johnny Football.Classyposter58;1359497 wrote:Really? Azubuike24UNC losing at Virginia. Virginia sucks...

Yeah.Azubuike24;1359514 wrote:UNC losing at Virginia. Virginia and Carolina suck... -
Azubuike24I was impressed from what I saw of UNC beating UNLV the other night. The loss to Texas was bad, but not as bad as I thought. Texas has shown some resolve this year.
Who knows. UVA has only 2 decent wins and 3 bad, bad losses. -
ironman02I knew Carolina would lose at UVA...I just knew it.
Had an 8 point lead in the 2nd half and then just went in the crapper. Inexcusable loss, even on the road. So much for building momentum after beating UNLV. That team lost to Old Dominion!!! -
reclegend22Sounds like you had the same feeling about Virginia that I do about N.C. State in Raleigh. Mason Plumlee will get doubled and nobody will make any three pointers, the fans will be as loud as a soccer stadium in Germany and Duke will lose that game by double figures. Such is life in the Triangle.
-
ironman02
Haha. Don't worry. If that happens, at least your team will be fine in the grand scheme of things. Carolina is in serious trouble right now.reclegend22;1359523 wrote:Sounds like you had the same feeling about Virginia that I do about N.C. State in Raleigh. Azubuike24State is far superior to UVA too. Losing to them in Raleigh isn't terrible. Virginia won't finish in the top 6 in the ACC and won't make the NCAA Tournament. The ACC isn't even good and they still won't. I don't care if it's at JPJ, it's a bad loss for a far-superior Carolina team.
-
ironman02It's certainly a bad loss, but Carolina isn't far superior to anyone right now. I know you meant talent-wise, which is true, but they're a horrible basketball team. I tend to overreact when Carolina loses, especially when it's a game like this, but there is serious cause for concern right now. The current team isn't playing well, and is probably staring the NIT in the face. Roy Williams doesn't seem to be faring that well on the recruiting trail recently, and he's not getting through to his team. Something needs to change really soon or this could get ugly. It's hard to criticize a guy that has won two national championships and has the highest winning percentage in the country among active coaches, but this is just not good.
-
Azubuike24C.J. McCollum out for the season and possibly any postseason with a broken foot. Really opens things up for Bucknell in the Patriot. Bucknell does deserve some justice after dominating last year only to lose at home to Lehigh for the NCAA bid.
-
SportsAndLadyFun fact:
Through 13 games last year, Anthony Davis had 58 blocks and 29 fouls
Through 13 games this year, Jeff Withey has 68 blocks and only 16 fouls -
GOONx19^ And at this point I'd say he's the favorite for player of the year, as well.
-
reclegend22Not sure about favorite. There are a select few who are in the running at this point. Conference play will have to actually get in motion before the front runner for NPOTY is truly revealed.
-
Laley23Id say Trey Burke ahead of Plumlee right now.
Also might have McLemore ahead of Withey on Kansas. -
reclegend22
If Michigan wins the Big Ten and Burke plays to the level at which he has, then I think he'd deserve it. The same could be said for Plumlee at Duke and either of the two you mentioned from Kansas. There's still a chance that Cody Zeller could win it if he turns it up and puts together a sizzling Big Ten stretch and Indiana cuts down the league nets.Laley23;1361110 wrote:Id say Trey Burke ahead of Plumlee right now.

I think there are several really good candidates right now. We'll have a very clear picture of the winner in three to four weeks, I think. -
gorocks99Clemson shot 3 for 25 in the first half against Duke. They have 10 points in 20 minutes. Yikes.
-
reclegend22
The Clemson coach can't expect the Booker family to score 80 points per game, but that appears to be Brad Brownell's plan anyway. Good luck with that. How many are in the Booker clan? They've been there since 2004.gorocks99;1361275 wrote:Clemson shot 3 for 25 in the first half against Duke. They have 10 points in 20 minutes. Yikes.
