But a great heads up play to just throw the ball up at the end. -
Ironman92The #1 seeds are set.
Gonzaga
Louisville
Indiana

Azubuike24I still remember the awful disrespect by Verne Lundquist when Northwestern State hit that 3 over Iowa.
"Northwestern wins. Northwestern wins." Forgot the "State", dumbass. -
Ironman92Weber St got hosed with 1:15 left down two....top scorer fouls out on a bad charge call. Defensive player gave a big big flop.

you think louisville did enough to unseat indiana out of indianapolis?Ironman92;1407101 wrote:The #1 seeds are set.

Agreed. You could make the argument for Miami, I guess, but KU has more wins (13) against projected NCAA teams than any other team in the country and Miami slipped up more times against teams it shouldn't have.Ironman92;1407101 wrote:The #1 seeds are set.

The Big East gets the sexy love...especially their tournament, but IMO Indiana earned more over the season in the ridiculous B1G, but if the two paired up I'd go with Louisville because sleeper sucks. -
Azubuike24I think Louisville may have taken over the #1 overall seed. They might end up in Lexington and Indianapolis. Given how starved that fan base and program is for some recognition, they just might end up having about as favorable path as anyone. Lexington, Indianapolis and Atlanta.

Honestly, no. But I am sweating it out now...dazedconfused;1407106 wrote:you think louisville did enough to unseat indiana out of indianapolis?
Makes more sense for LVille to go East than IU though. They play in the Big East.. -
reclegend22The Ohio State fans here would obviously want Indiana shipped to D.C. so that the Buckeyes can go to Indy for the regionals.
If Miami wins the ACC tomorrow, I imagine the preferred location for the two-seeded Hurricanes would geographically be in D.C, which I think would send Duke to the Midwest (if Indiana gets the one seed in the Midwest and Ohio State gets shipped elsewhere).
If Duke is able to pull a 1980 U.S. Hockey and win two games and get to Indy, that'd be great. That's a short car drive for me. -

That would be great. Would love to be the #2 in the Midwest with Louisville the #1. -

Osu is going west I think dayton for first round, then LA. Lots of alymni in California and could be weakest region. -

While I agree that the West will most likely be the weakest region -- at least in terms of the top seed -- I would think that OSU would want to say at home in Big Ten country in Indy, no? Ohio State fans travel well and I can't imagine that Louisville, even though it's not that far from Indiana, would have more fans than the Buckeyes in a game being played in a bordering state.Midstate01;1407123 wrote:Osu is going west I think dayton for first round, then LA. birddog23Has anybody listened to Bill Walton call the Pac-12 tourney this week?
-
reclegend22Bill Walton has been at the top of his game this week at the Pac-12 Tournament. His hyperbole is hyperbole. It's great. I'm pretty sure at one point he compared his weekend at the Pac-12 Tournament to his birth.
As for the NCAAs, I am predicting now that Indiana and Duke are the 1 and 2 seeds in the Midwest. Mark it down. Duke will not make it that far -- not sure about Indiana -- but that will be the committee's hope. A rematch from 2002. -

I'm listening right now but haven't watched any other games. One of my all time favorites. -
wildcats20TERRIBLE call. That's an and 1.
-
Terry_TateThat was an awful charge call. They love to call charges way too much.

Laley23I just dont see LVille getting the Midwest for a few reasons.
1. Not sure their resume is better. I know the DEEPER you go, it might be. Like top 50 wins. But go top 25 wins and you have a 7-4 advantage for IU. IU won a better conference outright in the Reg. Season. Does LVille have a single road win better than OSU/MSU/Michigan? IU won at all those places, and Kansas is the only other team to do so. The rest of the country I think went 0-50 (If I remember correctly) at those venues combined. @ Cuse is their best...
2. Even if both are viewed as 1a and 1b, I think geographically it makes more sense for LVille to go East where they have a better following than Indy. $$$ wise and fan support wise.
3. IU has been viewed as the #1 in the Midwest for weeks. The committee weights the conference tourneys heavily, but is a loss to Wisconsin enough to unseed them? -
reclegend22I think that IU to the Midwest is what will happen, but if Louisville does get the number one overall seed, I would certainly think that geographically that Indianapolis would be a much better fit for Louisville than D.C. It has a great fan following and that would be a relatively short drive for the Cardinals faithful. Probably 100 miles tops, versus an eight or nine-hour drive to the coast. Maybe somebody with a globe can provide more in-depth analysis.
I want Duke in the Midwest as a two seed so I am hoping that Indiana gets Indy so I can (potentially) watch them. -

Joey Brackets now has Louisville as the overall #1. Obviously not the end all be all, but he's usually more accurate than not. -

Cleveland BuckI would have Indiana as the #1 overall. The quality of their best wins is superior, even if Louisville played a few more 50-100 RPI teams. Indiana's 7 best wins are ranked 8, 8, 9, 11, 16, 18, 18 in the RPI, where Louisville's are ranked 12, 13, 14, 35, 36, 36, 43. Indiana's worst loss was to the #38 RPI, where Louisville's was to the #52.

reclegend22Depending on how much emphasis the selection committee puts on conference tournament performance, recency bias might come into play today and that favors Louisville as the #1 overall.
It will be a tight race. If Gonzaga gets it, which I think there is almost no chance of, it will be a disgrace.
