#1 UNC vs #13 Ohio University

ironman02I also think PJ will see some time at point. Roy keeps saying it's just gonna be White and Watts, but I think he's probably sandbagging a little.
Something else of interest for Carolina fans. Harrison Barnes and Tyler Zeller were named 2nd Team AA by the NABC today. Zeller had already earned a 2nd Team AA honor from Sporting News and he is the ACC POY, but this now means that Barnes' jersey will be honored in the rafters of the Dean Dome. This could be another incentive for him to leave for the NBA after this season, but if this is his last year in Chapel Hill, I'm glad his #40 will be in the rafters. -
Midstate01It goes up for being 2nd team AA? That's odd. I didn't know that
-
wildcats20IF Harry comes back, he has potential to be NPOY.
Which would put his number in the front row. -

wildcats20I mean 2nd team AA isn't great, but it's nothing to laugh at.

Hopefully that opportunity is something that he isn't willing to pass up. His goal of winning a national championship sure took a hit with the injury to Marshall. I'm still hoping for the best, but these unfortunate circumstances may just convince Henson and Barnes to come back for one more shot next year.wildcats20;1122586 wrote:IF Harry comes back, he has potential to be NPOY.

I hope so.ironman02;1122592 wrote:Hopefully that opportunity is something that he isn't willing to pass up. His goal of winning a national championship sure took a hit with the injury to Marshall. With the way James Michael is progressing, the front line would still be one of the best in the country. Harry would be the go to guy IMO. And Kendall back running the point. PJ taking over the 2 from Bullock(I would assume, maybe not). Just sets up another great year in Chapel Hill. -

Oh I'm not laughing. Just surprised a school like Carolina would do that. I figured it was reserved for nyop's, all time leaders, first team AA. I'm just surprised. That's all. -
Y-Town SteelhoundNo way Barnes passes up the NBA again. I just don't see it.

You must be named as a NPOY(any of them) to be retired. -

Not that it means much, but he said he didn't want to leave Chapel Hill without a NC.Y-Town Steelhound;1122606 wrote:No way Barnes passes up the NBA again. I just don't see it. -

I figured as much. Or they'd be wearing triple digit numbers. Lol. -

So did sully. I fully expect him to leave. -

Bingo. All coaches do it to a certain extent, but Roy learned from the maestro. Marshall is definitely playing this weekend.
I've seen mock drafts that have Harrison going as high as No. 2 (some random place), but somewhere between No. 5 and No. 7 seems to be much more accurate. Also, probably a pipe dream, but Chad Ford of ESPN recently even had James Michael McAdoo positioned at No. 7 on his board. Can you imagine if Barnes, Henson, Marshall and McAdoo all went early and Zeller was lost to graduation!
That'd be seriously cool, but never gonna happen... The much more likely scenario is all of them returning and Rivers leaving. Ugh. Any word on Henson, or pretty much 50/50? -
ironman02Barnes' stock has probably dropped a little bit, despite him scoring more and shooting a better percentage. People apparently expect him to score 20+ every night, and it's hard to do that when you have so many offensive weapons on a team. He could've been a Top 5 pick last year and he came back. He wants a title, and he wants his degree in three years, so I'm not ruling anything out. I'd say he's gone, but stranger things have happened.
Henson loves Chapel Hill and I'm sure he wants a title too. I think his stock will basically stay the same, and he could certainly use some more muscle and an even more consistent offensive game. I think if Barnes goes, then Henson goes too. If Barnes stays, I think Henson stays as well.
McAdoo isn't going anywhere, in my opinion, and neither is Marshall. They could go, but it would probably be much better for their success at the next level to stay at least one more year.
As for Rivers. He can GTFO! Lol. -
wildcats20Rivers can die in a fire. JK, well not really. So can Doc.

From everything I've read about the kid, especially the fact that he really seems to be driven to create a national brand for himself before getting to the NBA (which I don't necessarily think he's done yet), I think this is spot on. I without question see Barnes returning if this year's title evades Carolina (and I certainly would be OK with that, all things considered). If UNC wins a title and Barnes goes off in the Final Four, the brand blows up and he bolts.ironman02 wrote:Barnes' stock has probably dropped a little bit, despite him scoring more and shooting a better percentage. Either way, it's probably a win for UNC fans. I really hope I just cursed all of that haha. -

Probably a bit over the top. But I did always want to thrust a medieval sword into Tyler Hansbrough's abdomen, so I guess we're even. He played like a fool.wildcats20;1122634 wrote:Rivers can die in a fire. JK, well not really. So can Doc. -

DeyDurkie5rec can't post on a thread without bringing up duke in some form. It's getting to the point where it's just plain creepy.

I hope so. He's been somewhat of a disappointment and I don't think he's anything special. I have a hunch he won't cut it in the NBA.Midstate01;1122617 wrote:So did sully. I fully expect him to leave. -

Not as creepy as the fascination you seem to have over that. Somebody brought Duke up and a conversation was born. That's all there is here.DeyDurkie5;1122687 wrote:rec can't post on a thread without bringing up duke in some form. It's getting to the point where it's just plain creepy.
