#1 UNC vs #13 Ohio University

In theory, if they wanted to go play at some big time arenas in November and December, they could get games. Miami has been known to do this under Coles.

    Rebounds

    UNC 63
    OU 30

    Didn't seem that close.

I didn't know that about the scheduling (obviously).

No need for the butthurt OU fans to come out of the woodwork to tell me how wrong I am.

    They're still a mediocre team.

29-8, MAC Tournament Champs, wins over Michigan & South Florida, North Carolina needed OT to put 'em down, and a trip to the Sweet 16.

    Yep...sounds mediocre to me.

    Keep trolling........

How many D1 tourney possible teams are there 320? If I'm anywhere near correct ( I may not be)....mediocre would be teams #120-#200

Would have to have OU somewhere in the top 50....well above mediocre

    Big deal.

They had arguably the easiest path to the Sweet 16.

They weren't full strength, turned the ball over 24 times and still won.

    Mediocre? Yep.

OU got out rebounded by 33 and shot less than 40% and still should have won. Oh and their best player went 3-20.

And that's what sets them apart from a good team.

They are a top 25 team and were actually the top team recieving votes before they lost their second game earlier in the year. They also played at Louisville earlier in the season and lost by 5 after being ahead with like 7 minutes to go. They then went into a funk for a week kinda like OSU did and dropped 3 of 4 before getting back on track or they would have been a much higher seed.

345 D-1 teams, OU was 1 of 68 to make the Tournament and made the Sweet 16. At-worst, they were one of the top 40 teams in the country. That's hardly mediocre.

You could also make a case saying they were a top 16 team in the country...

You don't get to the Sweet 16 being mediocre.

OU was awesome...only an effin dooooshbag can't see how good they were.
  • sportchampps
btw how is playing a BIG CoChamp in the first round an easy path.

Walter Offutt named to Midwest Region all-tournament team

(Rest of it was Robinson, Withey, and Taylor for Kansas, Zeller fur UNC)

Absolutely. Top 40 is the absolute conservative end of the spectrum. Hardly close to "mediocre" as someone suggested.

    Awesome!!

If only it was Cooper, Offutt, Robinson, Withey, and Taylor, it'd be a perfect 5 for me

True. Sadly those 3-20 games hurt your all-region chances... Damn...one more fucking shot and it'd be Elite 8. I'm still pissed...lol.
