#1 UNC vs #13 Ohio University

Rivers never called himself that. That was given to him by fans (it blew up on Twitter over the summer) after it was announced he's be #0 at Duke.karen lotz;1125804 wrote:Rivers gave himself a sweet nickname for someone who let his team lose to a 15 seed. Gtfo.
Barnes is overrated at this point in his career as a sophomore. Fact. -
jordo212000I know OU was much shorter and not nearly as good at the 4 and 5 position, but they just simply refused to box out and got out hustled way way too many times tonight. A lot of unforced errors. When you aren't as good, you gotta do the little things

Rivers is a joke. Loved that piece of garbage went out early against Lehigh -
FootwedgeOU up 4.... 2 minutes to play. Cooper steals the ball and goes in for a layup. tries a reverse and misses. UNC gets the board and then fouled...hits the front end...misses the second and the gets the offensive board. Carolina hits a 3...6 point swing on that missed layup. That was the key play tonight.

MulvaI don't get what any of you saw from Barnes tonight that wasn't already known. The only difference tonight is that his shot wasn't falling. Everyone knows he doesn't have elite athleticism and isn't great at creating his own shot. That's why he gets compared to guys like Paul Pierce and Luol Deng.
It depends on who comes out I guess, but regardless of scenario I don't see any way he falls lower than #7, and he could still go in the top 3-4. -
believerOutstanding season for the Bobcats.

SMH. Yeah, OU played like $hit. They did a whole lot more than what was expected...including the little things. A couple of Bobcats had career nights.jordo212000;1125809 wrote:I know OU was much shorter and not nearly as good at the 4 and 5 position, but they just simply refused to box out and got out hustled way way too many times tonight. OU hits the and one at the end of regulation...and they most likely win the game. One lousy stinkin free throw from advancing. -

Barnes was predicted top two or three heading into the season, wasn't he? I've seen as low as eight now in some mock drafts. Still lottery, which is nothing to scoff over.Azubuike24;1125806 wrote:Rec, I disagree.
He's not going to get more athletic overnight.
Stock starts to fall after the Sophomore year as he gets older...no way he comes back. He's just not a top 5 pick...
The major reason I think Barnes will come back is because he has always talked about wanting to build a "brand name" for himself, like Mike Jordan did. Those are his words, not mine. And they sound pretty overzealous for somebody who has yet to even become a major household name at the college level. He's certainly good, but he's nowhere near the brand -- or player -- that a guy like Jason Williams was as a sophomore at Duke. Barnes has done several interviews where he has stated that it is in college where he feels he can build his name the most. I honestly don't know what he's really talking about. He just needs to play and worry about that shit later.
I could see him coming back if Carolina falls short of the Final Four, or even championship, and he doesn't put his talents on full display. Just my opinion. -

I don't believe it was a reverse.. I thought he went straight up with it, but Henson made a terrific hustle play and stuck with it for the block.Footwedge;1125811 wrote:OU up 4.... 2 minutes to play. karen lotz20/23/5 for Zeller. Just too bad the moment was too big for him.

robj55Barnes is very underwhelming, no way he is a star at the next level based on what I've seen. He has some work to do, better come back to school.

My point is that he's still likely top 10. However, his stock can't really get higher, especially in this draft. That's why I think he goes.reclegend22;1125816 wrote:Barnes was predicted top two or three heading into the season, wasn't he? I've seen as low as eight now in some mock drafts. THE4RINGZEven though there are no moral victories in sports, The Bobcat's performance tonight came pretty damn close.
-
Ironman92OU was a blast this tournament.....a hundred what ifs tonight, but I can't believe he missed that free throw with 16 seconds left....game. UNC's length advantage just destroyed OU on nearly every drive to the hoop. Henson never has to jump. Did Zeller out rebound OU?
Damn I wanted that for OU. -

I don't think anybody said the moment was too big for him... I think they were implying on that sideline shot as he was waiting to come back in after Ohio took the lead or pulled within 1 that he had a "worried look on his face" or some shit.karen lotz;1125820 wrote:20/23/5 for Zeller. I noticed it too. Bullock took the game over for UNC. -

Henson can reach the rim with 2 steps from 1/2 court -
robj55OU returns basically everyone next year I believe, they are going to be tough with this to build their confidence.

Hope you are right. I'd like to see that roster completely depleted again next fall (with regard to returning players if Black Falcon, Marshall, Henson and, of course, Zeller all leave) and see what Roy Williams does about it. It all went to shambles in 2010.
