Voters already trying to push OSU into title game. OSU jumps over Stanford

Guess people dont want to see a rematch. If OSU beats Oklahoma they will probably leap Bama. AP poll up http://espn.go.com/college-football/rankings/_/week/14

Curious to see the other polls.

The world has already seen LSU/Alabama Part 1. Do we (i.e. the majority) really want to see a sequel?
  • cats gone wild
I would like to see LSU vs OSU, but can OSU beat Oklahoma? As Ive said in another thread, I would love to see LSU beat the best teams from the Big 12, Pac 12 and SEC. If LSU plays/beats OSU, they will have wins over the best teams from the best conferences besides the B1G

I doubt OSU beats Oklahoma but you never know and that's why they play the game.

If we didn't see a rematch of Ohio State-Michigan in 2006, we don't need to see a rematch of LSU-Alabama. LSU already beat Bama, let them face someone else for the title.

But Alabama is clearly the 2nd best team in the country. In 2006, it was debatable if Florida or Michigan was better. I don't think you can make an argument that any remaining team is better than Alabama.

I actually agree that Alabama is the second best team in the country, but the 2nd best team doesn't always make the championship, even in tournament format. We've seen who is better between LSU-Alabama, I want to see if another team can knock off LSU. It really can't be proven that OSU isn't as good as LSU until they play. It has already been proven that Alabama is not better than LSU.

Agreed 100 % no one wants to see that shit fest again. And if osu beats Oklahoma you can argue they have better wins then bama

But they are supposed to in the BCS. It should be LSU vs. Alabama.

The only poll out so far (AP) has no bearing on the BCS anyway, and even in it there is still a massive point gap between 2 and 3.

It'll work out however it is supposed to, but I just don't see how Alabama has any better wins than OSU if OSU does end up beating Oklahoma. Bama will have lost to a better team and that is it. Better losses don't factor in, better wins do.

If we end up with a different legit #2, that's fine too. But if it were decided today, it'd be Alabama.

I havent looked at the schedules, but hasnt OSU had some close wins while Bama has beaten everyone badly? And OSU has a loss to an unranked team while Bama's loss is to the #1 team? Big difference.
And also, (not towards dwccrew post) I cant remember what the computers said last week, but didnt they help OSU out a good amount?

Arkansas is a better win than a 9-3 Oklahoma if OSU wins.

A late season loss to Iowa State takes OSU out of it, IMO.

I just looked at OSU's schedule. No, it doesnt compare to Bama's wins. A nailbiter vs. A&M and KSU and a loss vs. Iowa St doesnt compare to what Bama has done.
  • ytownfootball
They're (OSU) going to garner some sympathy votes based on the plane crash, just have to accept it.
  • cats gone wild
I still dont know how they jumped Stanford who won vs a ranked team, while OSU had an off week. Just shows what the voters are trying to do.
  • dwccrew
Personally, I don't think a team should have to beat another team twice in a season to be national champs. Why should LSU have to beat Bama twice to be national champs, while Bama only would have to beat LSU once to be champs? That's not fair to LSU, it gives Bama the advantage because it is very difficult to beat the same team twice in one season.

Who has bama beat? Penn st? Arkansas( who is very good not even a top 10 team). I'll take wins over ksu and Oklahoma over bamas wins

OSU is 5 in the poll that actually figures into the BCS (Coaches)

Pro-BCS folk like to talk about how in the current system, every week is a playoff. But how would that be the case if Bama gets in? Shouldnt they be "eliminated"?

I might feel different if LSU beat them at Death Valley or in the Sugar Bowl, but they beat them at Alabama?

How fair is it to LSU to force them to beat Bama again? Why should this next game mean anything more than the last one?

Let's see what Stanford or Oklahoma State can do. Bama had their shot.

If you think OSU's resume is better than 'Bama's then I 100% disagree.

This is exactly what I said above, and I agree with you 100%. Alabama had their chance.

But if the goal is to ultimately match #1 vs. #2, shit like this can happen.
