Remember LSU's OC (steve kragthorpe)ended up with Parkinsons and now he's up in a booth coaching the QB's? He used to be the Louisville head coach. So, Stud became OC. He used to be OC when Urban was at BG.

Coaching Ohio State athletes vs. random SEC-team athletes has a tendency to turn mediocre coordinators into coaching geniuses.:D

Steve Kragthorpe was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease at the beginning of fall camp. Studrawa took over for him then after being the Oline coach for 5 years.

Studrawa was Meyer's OC at BG and I'd say he had a pretty good offense. Plug Braxton Miller's skill set into it and what should be better WRs/RBs, I'd think OSU fans would be pretty happy if Studrawa was the OC and ran a similar offense to what he ran at BG. The personnel at LSU doesn't really fit the kind of offense that Studwara normally would run.

And plus Kragthorpe was going to be in his first year at OC, so the last couple years of bad LSU offense was because of Gary Crowton who's now at Maryland. This is coach stud's first year at being OC at LSU.

Health? He didnt have the serious problems at UF like what OSU is going thru. Do you think he can make it for "years" at OSU?

My dad called me this afternoon and said Meyer is being announced as coach on Monday. He has a friend who works in the alumni offices alongside Archie Griffin. My dad is usually pretty level headed, so I don't think he would pass this along if it didn't have a little bit of credibility.

I don't know If I buy it, but I think it's just a matter of time before its announced.

I got a similar text from a guy I hardly ever believe in situations like this. Now I'm intrigued.

There was some serious BS in that sports by Brooks article

Doesn't OSU have to legally "post" the job opening before a hire can be made? I know it would be a charade, but I think they have to do it. Correct me if I'm wrong. That was part of the reason I predicted December 6th as the announcement date.

My dad called me today and said there was no truth to the rumors. He has a friend named Archie Griffin, some old white dude he works with at the plant, so I imagine he knows what he's talking about.

Not sure. The football program is self sufficient, so maybe there is an exception.

Cool story. I said in full disclosure I don't know if I buy it. But this is a message board, and it's something I heard today that relates to this thread. Try harder next time.

I think the NFL requires the interviewing of a minority candidate. Don't think that's the case in the NCAA. And thinking back, I do not believe the job was posted when Tressel resigned.

Is that rule at the college level? Wasn't Lane Kiffin hired right after Pete Carol left?

    Yea, i think you're right.

It has to be posted but does not have to be public, can be internal only, which is why you never see it.

update from my source who works for Akron..job has to be posted 10 days before a hire, doesnt mean there isnt a verbal agreement already though.

My aunt owns an ice cream shop here in Jackson and it was the first job by Ohio's longest lasting Governor James A Rhodes. My aunt Joan's twin sister Jane once dated former Buckeye Mike Tomczak's brother.

Jane and Joan both say Urban to OSU is a done deal.

    Hope that helped.
