cats gone wildBut, they were up to par with OSU in their game, were they not? 17-10 was the final and sleeper acts like that OSU team is/was untouchable and that LSU isnt any good because they gave up 24 to WVU and beat Bama by 3. Reading comprehension.

They thought they had the game won, and then were devastated when Ginn could no longer play. It's tough in the B1G because you get beat up all season and then have to play another game on top of that against a dirty team like Florida.like_that;962293 wrote:They stopped trying to win a national title after they quickly went up 7-0? -

SpeedofsandOSU was the dirty team in that game, they even injured a player after the whistle because he scored. oh, wait.

Clearly you don't understand as the majority of football you watch is 2 hand touch at best. In the B1G, its extremely physical and that can wear on you. That's why I still say that Tebow would never of played in the B1G because he'd be injured, whereas in the SEC he could run around with no problems.Speedofsand;963219 wrote:after 5 weeks rest and practice they could no longer play? -
Speedofsandsleeper you are saying they had from Nov 18th to Jan 8th to get ready and could only play :16 with a 7-0 lead but would have demolished both 2011 LSU & Bammer. Then you take a shot at Tebow compared to the B1G, while he has 7 TD's on 81 rushes, 504 yards, 6.2 NFL career avg.
very funny -

Unfortunately yes. The B1G is the toughest place to play in college football. That's why we schedule all of our pre-season OOC teams before the season so we can save up energy for a tough season. The SEC can afford to play their cupcakes mid season because they play pretty damn close to two handed football as you can get.Speedofsand;963779 wrote:sleeper you are saying they had from Nov 18th to Jan 8th to get ready and could only play :16 with a 7-0 lead but would have demolished both 2011 LSU & Bammer. Speedofsand^ says the guy whose team just edged Indiana. LOL.
I can't help that pre-season top 5 FSU quickly became a cupcake after playing Oklahoma. That's an annual rivalry game on top of the SEC schedule, where the Champion is the best in the BCS 5 years and running. UGA plays Ga. Tech. ; South Carolina plays Clemson. All are currently ranked. Your cupcakes are in your B1G Conference. -
vball10setSOS and sleeper going toe to toe...priceless

5 straight titles and still lagging behind the B1G in overall championships by quite a bit. Not to mention every title the SEC has won in that span has been disputed with other undefeated teams that would have easily handled the National Champion. Boise, TCU, etc, were undefeated and a better team than anything the SEC had put out.Speedofsand;963979 wrote:^ says the guy whose team just edged Indiana. LOL.

If you don't, then we disagree and that's that.lhslep134;960620 wrote:You have your opinion, I have mine. Through 10 weeks, I think Stanford would beat LSU. Not sold on LSU's offense.
Do you think different now?lhslep134;960716 wrote:1. I've watched Stanford play every game because U of A is too painful to watch so I have both games on at once, and I like watching them more than Oregon (because I think they're better).
2. Stanford can only beat the teams put ahead of them, and have done so convincingly with the exception of a road game against a top 25 team with arguably the 2nd best quarterback in the country.
3. They have done nothing to make me think they couldn't beat LSU. -
vball10setLSU vs. Oregon in a rematch for the NC? could be/should be a helluva game
-
cats gone wildIm kinda wondering if they will have a rematch. Oregon is getting better thru out the year. But, if Ok beats Ok st, its a tossup between OK, Bama and Oregon getting in. LSU still has to get past Ark and either USCe/UGA. No easy task.

Obviously. They lost.cats gone wild;970444 wrote:Do you think different now?
At this point LSU is all but guaranteed a spot in the national championship game. Even if they lose I don't think Alabama or Oregon can jump them.
Also, I would have to imagine that Oregon would jump Alabama if Okie State loses -

I can't see the Oregon/LSU rematch if OK St loses. LSU already whooped Oregon's ass. LSU needed many Alabama mental mistakes to beat them in OT. Alabama deserves a rematch more so than Oregon.
With that being said, this is why the BCS is a joke. -
Azubuike24The game I want most is LSU vs OSU. In-terms of performance and entertainment, I think that offers the best bang for the buck.
BCS National Title - LSU vs Oklahoma State
Sugar Bowl - Alabama vs Cincinnati
Fiesta Bowl - Stanford vs Oklahoma
Orange Bowl - Virginia Tech vs Houston
Rose Bowl - Oregon vs Wisconsin
Tentative with VT winning the ACC, Cincy the Big East, Wisconsin the B1G, OSU and LSU winning out and Stanford, Oklahoma and Oregon getting the at-large bids as the best of the rest while Houston sneaks in with the Non-AQ bid. -
Azubuike24Interesting scenario if Arkansas beats LSU.
Alabama would win the tiebreaker in the SEC West, and would play Georgia in the SEC Championship game. If they win that (they would be BCS #2 going in) they would likely secure a spot in the BCS Title game.
Arkansas, coming off a recent win over LSU, would likely remain higher than the Tigers in the BCS standings (they are 6th now) and would receive the Sugar Bowl bid.
This would take LSU from lock for BCS#1 to the Capital One Bowl...
So the game against Arkansas is going to be MASSIVE. -
cats gone wildYeah, it always helps to lose earlier in the year instead of in the last games. Doesnt seem fair to be honest, but thats the way it is.
I see LSU beating Ark this year by 10+. I know ARK has beaten LSU 3 out of 4 times, but this year it will be different. And we will get to see what LSU can do vs a "high caliber QB", lol. Might be bias, but if LSU wins out, they will have went through the toughest schedule ever in college football unscathed, and might be the best team in the BCS era. They might finish with 5 wins vs top 10 teams when its all said and done. But, Im not going to get ahead of myself. Three more big games possibly will be a tough stretch. -
karen lotz"might be biased"?

Well, for me, I would think they would be the best team in the BCS era. I know a lot of people on here would think different. But, you and nobody else could deny that they would have survived the toughest schedule ever. Right?karen lotz;972091 wrote:"might be biased"?

Before the season goes on, I have to admit Im nervous about J Jefferson taking over at QB. LSU is better off with J Lee, IMO. If we need to score alot of points vs Ark or title game, JJ aint the answer. Doesnt matter what JJ does bad on or off the field, it gets overlooked. If Lee has one bad game, he gets the ax. Sorry, but 14 td's vs 3 int's aint too shabby. At least he doesnt run the option 75% of the time. -
j_crazy2001 canes were the best BCS team.
You're underestimating the ints by lee and overestimating his mental strength. He looked scared vs Alabama. He was shaken. -
cats gone wild
Yeah, the int's were ugly but one was from a bad snap and not getting to see the field long enough. Tried to hurry it up. But, against plenty of good teams this year he looked good. Its not like LSU is going to face a Bama defense again who had a NFL secondary. (unless Bama sneaks into title game)j_crazy;972108 wrote:2001 canes were the best BCS team.

Ohio State has no chance at making the title game, unfortunately. As much as I think OSU would give LSU a game, and hell might even win, its not happening.Azubuike24;971922 wrote:The game I want most is LSU vs OSU.
