I don't normally agree with you, but THIS.

Who else should they throw at LSU then? They already beat Oregon.

Even though I think LSU would prolly win, I'd like to see them play Oklahoma for the NC. To me, that's the only team (other than 'Bama) that can hang with them long enough to have a chance to win.

IF LSU beats Arkansas, that will be 3 top 10 teams they beat. How can someone argue against that?

I just don't see that, especially after their defense got torched by TTU on their own turf. I am not even sure if OKL will beat OKL ST.

No one is saying that they aren't the best team. They're saying due to the extremely pathetic showing on offense yesterday they're vulnerable against more complete teams.

Nobody is going to be more complete on defense than Alabama. Translation: Nobody else is going to be able to hold LSU to 9 pts.

I took that into account, but I think OK just had a real bad day against TT. Now, if OK St beats them, then I'll rethink my position, but for now, OK's the only team that can (other than 'Bama), IMO, give them a game.

You don't think Stanford could hold LSU to a low enough point total that Andrew Luck could put up enough points to win?

If you don't, then we disagree and that's that.

Anyone who thinks Stanford can hang with LSU doesnt know football. Period. After next week when they lose at home to Oregon.......people will change their tune. Stanford doesnt have nearly the talent LSU does and they have played an absolute pitiful schedule.

No, I really don' think they can. I don't even think Stanford will beat Oregon next saturday. You should at least wait until that game is over to make your assessment on how Stanford would do against LSU.

It's a good measuring stick. LSU's defense held Oregon in-check pretty well, especially the last 3 quarters. Stanford gets Oregon at home too, so we'll see. I agree with Most. Stanford will struggle to win.

Skyhook79;960355 wrote:No If Boise St beat Alabama in that scenario people would just say Alabama didn't care about that game because they were disappointed not being in the NC game just like when Alabama was stomped by Utah in the Sugar Bowl in 2009. Many people used that excuse.
We might. Not from me. Regardless, Alabama would be a TD favorite over Boise if that match-up occurs.

You have your opinion, I have mine. Through 10 weeks, I think Stanford would beat LSU. Not sold on LSU's offense.

What if Stanford loses to Oregon?

Also, if Stanford does beat Oregon, do you think Stanford is good enough to make LSU look like a "fraud."

Stanford has one win over a current ranked team (bottom of the pack ranked team), while LSU has 3 wins over currently ranked teams and 2 are in the top 10. Yeah, Stanford has proven alot this year. The only decent opponent Stanford has played, they won in OT with USC getting ripped off on the last play of regulation. What makes you think Stanford is good besides a QB? Do you even watch Stanford games?

Then I would obviously no longer consider Stanford to be better than LSU.

What if LSU loses to Arkansas? Same stupid pointless question that you asked me.

Stupid? Its a relevant question since Oregon would be a comment opponent of both LSU/Stanford. It's not like I am making random hypothetical scenarios where one or the other the team loses to any other team. Not surprised you didn't realize that.

It will be interesting to see your opinion after the Stanford/Oregon game next week. If Stanford completely dominates Oregon as LSU did, then I might agree with you that Stanford could beat them, but they definitely wouldn't make them look like "frauds" (Yes I know you didn't throw out the word "fraud").

It's not a relevant question. You're asking my thoughts about a team after a loss that hasn't happened yet and how it would affect my opinion of them, when my current opinion of them is due to them being undefeated.

It's the same as me asking you how would you feel about LSU if they lose to Arkansas? The answer is so obvious it's not worth asking.

    1. I've watched Stanford play every game because U of A is too painful to watch so I have both games on at once, and I like watching them more than Oregon (because I think they're better).

    2. Stanford can only beat the teams put ahead of them, and have done so convincingly with the exception of a road game against a top 25 team with arguably the 2nd best quarterback in the country.

    3. They have done nothing to make me think they couldn't beat LSU.

I don't think LSU was really any better than Oregon. DeAnthony Thomas just couldn't hold onto the ball in the 3rd quarter of that game.
  • cats gone wild
Well, Im glad we all have opinions. Guess we gotta wait till next week to see what Stanford is all about. Im guessing Ok St loses to Ok later in the year also. Boise has no shot at a title game. A one loss OK, ORE, Bama, Ark (if they beat LSU) will get in over Boise.

I'm not saying that 'Bama or LSU are bad. - one them will play in the BCS championship, and rightfully so.

The point I make is that if two Big Ten teams played a game at this level in which no touchdowns were scored, the national media would be all over them.

Team A beat team B. So if Team B beats team C than team A must be better than team C!!

This is an argument idiots use.

It's the only argument you can use in college football, since there is no playoff system. That is how these idiots base their rankings. This is why the BCS is a joke.
