College Basketball Random Chatter

Off the top of my head...

    1. UK
    2. UCLA
    3. IU
    4. NC State
    5. Michigan State

Also considered Louisville, Florida, UNLV, Baylor, and Duke.

Still need to wait and see who else ends up declaring and who transfers where though.

Just got home and only have read about Noel and Bazz today. But based off those two picks and stuff from the past couple weeks...

    1. Indiana
    2. Louisville
    3. UCLA
    4. Kentucky
    5. Baylor

Drew suspended for 2 B12 games. I think a 1 scholarship reduction, and probation.
Such a joke that Indiana got a post-season ban (I know, self-imposed) and a lot worse recruiting restrictions that this. Sampson did the same thing, but the actual content of the texts was tame in comparison...plus, he was FIREDDDDD!!!! WTF. I hate the NCAA.

Tough to say UK at this point. They have the most upside, but I wouldn't call their rotation a #1 just yet.

    PG Harrow
    SG Goodwin
    SF Poythress
    PF Wiltjer
    C Noel

Willie Cauley, Jon Hood, Twany Beckham.

Now, they still have a legit shot at Bennett, Oriakhi and Jefferson...and they still have an outside chance of someone staying, although extremely unlikely.

Indiana, Louisville and UCLA have pretty much set rosters. All are loaded. North Carolina and Kansas are in the conversation.

Baylor, Florida, Duke, Ohio State, Michigan State, St. Louis, Syracuse, N.C. State, Arizona, Michigan, Virginia Commonwealth, Wisconsin, Creighton, Kansas State, Tennessee, Gonzaga, West Virginia, New Mexico and San Diego State should all be in the top 25 somewhere.

Baylor I agree with, but not MSU or UNLV.

Baylor is contingent on Quincy coming back. I have no idea if he announced his plans yet or not.

I think UNLV is gonna be legit. Moser and Marshall + Birch and Reinhardt (top 50 recruit and sharpshooter - exactly what they need to replace Stanback).

MSU is more iffy. Putting a lot of faith in Payne and Appling continuing to develop, Nix still being on the team, Dawson coming back from his injury, and Gary Harris contributing off the bat. Probably too many ifs, but we'll see.

UNC loses way too much. They're basically bringing back 1 post player and going to rely on a freshman PG. You could probably throw Kansas in there for Duke or UNLV, but I don't think it's a definite.

I'll give credit to Mulva, cause you usually backs up his retarded posts(browns posts, this one) with some decent posts. But I mean jesus, UNLV?
  • Laley23
Im pretty sure Quincy Miller is returning. It immediately made them, for me, a top 5 team. I hate it too, cause I hate Scott Drew.

Why hasnt OSU gotten any 2012 recruits? It might have been talked about before on this forum, but I dont feel like searching. TIA

Already another way-too-early Top 25, you say? Well, a lot has changed since the night of the national title game, when we published our initial rankings.
Almost all of the underclassmen have made up their minds concerning the draft -- save for a few who are taking advantage of the extra time allowed by a late-April NBA deadline. The decisions went mostly as expected, but there were a few surprises that caused a shakeup in our poll.

    My Browns posts are money.

But UNLV is definitely a darkhorse pick. I think they'll be ranked in the 15-20 range in the actual polls when the season starts. But that wasn't the question.

Katz's revamped top 25 (after more decisions have been made).

Im not the only one who loves the Wolverines next year!

I think he's overrating the top of the B1G (very slightly, but still). I would put IU top 5, but not #1. And I would have UM and OSU somewhere in the 10-15 range but not at 5 and 8. It should be a really, really strong year for the conference though.
  • Crimson streak
No question Indiana should be number 1. They have everyone back and some talented freshman coming in
  • Laley23
Yeah, if IU isnt #1, I think Louisville is the only team ahead...on paper.

Also, this might be the best crop of recruits the Big Ten has had come along in a very, very long time. Very deep class for them. When a kid going to Wisconsin is the best player, imo, it says a lot. Cause Bo doesnt recruit them very often.

Then they have Elijah Johnson, Travis Releford, Jeff Withey, Kevin Young, Naadir Tharpe, Justin Wesley

They'll be deep as ****...Bill Self is gonna work his magic again
I did forget about Taylor. Was thinking he was a senior. That helps. Still not sure about top 5. Top 10 yes. But its pre-season. Pretty much guess work with many times that early.

Still not sold on all the MSU hype. Green was their all everything, including a HUGE leader. Thats a big time loss for them in many ways. I am sure Izzo will work his magic. But it may take him to mid season IMO.

Prior to Sully leaving, they only had 1 scholarship to offer. So I think they were being selective with that. If they didn't get who they wanted (which they aren't, Parker), then they are probably going to bank it and possibly take a transfer.

    Not Tyshawn Taylor. Jamari Traylor.

    Taylor was a senior.

Tubby Smith rumored to be the top candidate for the LSU job.

God help LSU...they can do SO MUCH better...
