could be the year the MAC ends up with 2 bids. Akron is going to get their chance at WVU as well.

Nice win for Miami today home against Dayton. Not a bad early start for the MAC East.

Figured. I read it, then 10 minutes later I saw your post. At least you phrased it differently.

UCLA is down 13 to Middle Tennessee with <8 minutes to go.

Reeves Nelson being suspended kills them, but even with him they'd still basically suck.

The only conference in D1 yet to lose....the ACC. 13-0

Thank heavens for terrible southern mid-majors.

Abro is also out the first 4 games and he's probably there best player when he isn't a pussy and I thought Carlton Scott was suppose to be back?

Scott graduated last year but still had a year of eligibility. He decided it was time to move on and is playing in Europe now. He could have helped but is still more of a perimeter guy than a banger like Cooley. And Abro is the same way.

Cooley is going to worry me. It would definitely have been nice to have Scott especially for his inside d. Oh well but things are looking up as they have 2 very talented freshman coming in next year

(9)Pitt struggling with Long Beach State

Indiana passes its first road test 94-73 over Evansville. Game wasnt even that close, as IU racked up a 34 point lead early in the 2nd half and coasted. Evansville is coming off a big over Butler in OT, granted Butler wont be in the title game this year, but they are a solid MVC team.

Wasnt so much impressed that they won, but I never expected a blow-out @Evansville. I was very pleased with how they shot out of the gate and were off to an early 7-0 lead and just never let up.

    Now 3-0 on the year.

Long Beach State takes down #9 Pitt 86-76. Big East taking hits day by day.

Long Beach State isn't a bad team. 4 starters back from a team that rolled through the Big West last year but choked in the conference tournament. Pitt obviously should have won, but if you're going to drop one to a mid-major that isn't a bad one to lose to.

Oklahoma State and UTSA was a thriller

I've been wanting to see Oklahoma State play to check out LeBryan Nash, but I guess he isn't playing that well to start out the year.

Parity in the sport folks. It's never been better. The sport hasn't been this good in years. Combined with no NBA, this is a big time for college basketball to once again draw significant national interest. Great year to do so with the amount of talent right now...

Purdue escapes AGAIN with a 1 pt, 91-90 victory over Iona this afternoon. I know Iona is a really strong Mid-Major, led by former Arizona PG, Momo Jones. But Purdue just lacks it this season. Escaped the other day versus High Point.

Hummel looks good though, and Ryne Smith has himself a stroke from deep.

Seeing as IU had lost 17 straight on the road, and Crean?IU was 1-30 on the road...I was impressed with the road win. ;)

I think Purdue was only favored by around 3 in that game if I remember correctly. I like Iona a lot. Class of the MAAC this year along with Fairfield, who plays Minnesota tonight.

Arizona/St. John's tonight as well. Wildcats only favored by 2.5. I think they cover pretty easily.

    $9 tickets for tonight's games that I don't give 2 shits about
$160 tickets for Tuesday night's games taht I wanted to attend

Yeah, Iona is really solid. But if you watched the game, you can just tell Purdue is missing something. They have no inside game at all. Iona score wouldnt be as big a deal, but its on the heals of a 2 pt win over High Point.

I didn't watch the game. I just like Iona.

Purdue plays Temple tomorrow at 1 in the only not terrible game of the day. I might tune into that one, even though it will probably be a 50-45 type of game.
