Syracuse and Pittsburgh to the ACC??

You've gotta think that they are/will try to get out of their new contract if it's going to fold. Adding them and possibly Boise could save the Big XII, if they really wanted to save it.

I think you see the remaining Big East and Big 12 schools consolidate into one conference?

I can see that, but do the left over BE schools go football only because of the credibility that stays with the basketball side?

    Texas
    Texas Tech
    Baylor
    Oklahoma
    Okie State
    Kansas
    Kansas State
    Iowa State
    TCU
    WVU
    UConn
    Rutgers
    USF
    Cincinnati
    L'Ville
    Boise

The Big 12 should stay around and should be selective on who they take. Get TCU, USF, Cincy, Rutgers, Louisville, Boise, Kansas, Kansas State, Baylor, Iowa State, Houston, and BYU.

WVU seems to be SEC bound, right?

Not a great conference, but probably good enough to keep AQ status?
  • SportsAndLady
Texas, Tech, Okla, Okla State are Pac16 bound.

Uconn and RU are ACC bound.

The big 12 can be selective with whom they take, but it won't involve those teams.

But where does that leave the basketball schools like St. Johns, Nova, Marquette, and Georgetown?

Do the Big 12 leftovers talk to the MWC, and lobby to get the depleted Big East's BCS position moved over to there?

This is assuming the move is made more on football decisions.

Maybe as basketball only schools inside of the newly formed conference of misfits?

Mountain West teams would come to the Mountain West in that scenario IMO. Big 12 already has AQ status. I could see this being possible too? Just think that some of the Big East schools would probably be a little more intriguing than the majority of the Mtn West schools.

If they look at football only, I think some of the MWC ones have more appeal than what will be left of the BE (especially if WVU, Uconn, RU go). Throwing basketball in there makes the Big East look better. All depends on how they make the decision.

The Big East non-fb playing schools will pick up other instutiutions like Xavier, Dayton, St. Louis, Temple to become the A-10 on steroids.

Yeah, but I figure some of the markets they could add by getting a few of the Big East schools would probably be much more attractive than some of those Mtn West schools.

TCU absolutely makes sense for the new Big 12 though, as does Houston?

Or they just join the A-10?

Big East non-football members are having a conference call today to discuss their plans if the dominoes keep falling.

The team that could get really hammered - WVU.
    I love it!

These re my thoughts, aside from the last - the Big 12 is done. Okie/TX has their pick of conferences, but the rest of the teams are just hoping to get scooped up.

Sorry for the edit, bad typing.

So if the BE and Big 12 are done...where are those teams going to go?

The leftovers from both go under the Big 12 name, Big East becomes an 8 team conference without football. Or, Big East takes Big 12 leftovers to maintain at least 8 football schools and eleventy billion basketball schools like now.

Likely, I would not want to be the AD for Baylor, ISU, Kansas, KSU, Cincy, L'ville, S. Fla, WVU, or TCU right now. Really bad for Kansas given their excellent basketball program.

BTW I think Missouri is fine, I think the SEC will pick them up if the Big 10 doesn't. I don't see any of the aforementioned schools being a Big 10 target or anyone else's for that matter.

The B1G will pick up Kansas and Missouri

They decided to cut out the middle man and just went straight to Nick Mangold.

Link?? I thought Kansas had no chance at going to a conference like the B1G because they aren't a football school powerhouse and no one cares about basketball since basketball doesn't matter at all in the realignment of teams and conferences!
