    Uggh seriously. Man!

Yet to my knowledge the t-town menswear thing with u of Alabama is a non issue. NCAA is a joke but OSU will be hammered in the press for this.
  • Automatik
    Andddddd the nightmare continues.
  • goosebumps
Obviously ESPN has gotten to the NCAA and they are now working together to bring down OSU
  • sportchampps
If the reports that the NCAA is looking into turns out to be nothing can OSU sue the different media establishments for the money it has had to spend to fight these.
  • Scooter1369
From Ohio State's Jerry Emig: "The university has not received any additional allegations from the NCAA. As a member institution, we are committed to working together with the NCAA. We do not anticipate discussing any additional allegations with the COI other than those self reported in March."

    Nice try Zombie Walt.

There's numerous "tweets" saying that this isn't true.
  • rydawg5
    I hope not!

From what I'm reading the NCAA isn't making any new allegations, but they are still investigating OSU.

This from the Columbus Dispatch's Bill Rabinowitz on Twitter, "Story that NCAA sent OSU letter saying it's still investigating, OSU says there are no new allegations. That's not the point. Formal allegations may or may not ensue. Fact NCAA apparently sent letter means OSU is not in the clear even if Friday goes perfectly."
  • jordo212000
If this is true, they need to gather up everybody involved and boot them out of the university

    QFT

If this false, OSU needs to sue ESPN.

why send a letter when OSU is going to be in Indy on Friday? Why not just tell Gene Smith and everyone else that they're still rooting around on Friday?

More BSpn nonsense, I'm betting -- or should I say hopefulness.

    From a Dispatch story tonight:

The university has received no indications from the NCAA that it could face additional allegations or findings, Lynch said.

Lynch said that OSU President E. Gordon Gee received a letter from the NCAA on Aug. 3, but it concerned only procedural matters about the appearance of OSU officials before the Infractions Committee on Friday.

The letter did not make any references to an ongoing investigation of the football program, Lynch said. Ohio State cannot immediately release the letter because if must undergo legal review prior to its release, he said.

I've spent about an hour reading the discussion on OSU's scout site, and I'm just confused. The people "in the know" like to be vague and drop all these hints about how things could get bad, but then they end up acting like it's no big deal. I just want this stuff to be over!

And apparently all that talk really means nothing with regard to this "new" information today. It looks like OSU should be ok on Friday, but maybe not in the future? Who the hell knows.

Ive heard that after the NCAA meets with OSU. Espn is going straight to DC to get The White house and congress to start a committee to look into OSU and put the economic collapse on the side because ESPN bringing down OSU is that important to them.

Ill make this simple, For the past 10 years OSU(Tressell, Fans, The University) has put itself on a pedestal that it was above all this nonsense. And when you put yourself out there that you have Integrity, Morals..etc and when you get caught not living up to the image you have portrayed people will come after you. See Tiger Woods. When you already have a reputation of being a bit shady or bend the rules(SEC football) its not that big a deal. If John Daly would have had Mistresses coming out of the woodwork it would have been a story for about a week.

ESPN, Yahoo, Dispatch etc.. Are not out to "GET" Ohio State.

We hear nothing about Boise, we hear nothing about Georgia Tech, we see one article about LSU/Oregon/Auburn...

And we hear this about OSU? LOL.

I see nothing new they only thing I could see would be to try and fix the conception that OSU is fine and nothing will come of this. I think many people got the wrong thought thinking that OSU was in the clear when they were cleared of the lack of institution control a few weeks back. They are not in the clear and most likely will get something more than the self imposed penalties. However it wont be that bad as some think. Maybe a year or 2 without a bowl and some scholarship losses. What happens on the field will play a bigger role in the future IMO.

Because they have a certain procedure to follow.

I don'tknow what to make of this. I respect Forde and would like to think he's above throwing out rumors. And I don't know how the NCAA doesn't look further into the other allegations around OSU.

    bo shemmy,

Without LOIC, I don't see how they can even get a bowl ban. It might happen, but I just don't see how it's justified if OSU doesn't get LOIC.

I think there will be a scholarship reduction and maybe some added probabtion. However, if more violations come out at a later date, then I have no idea what will happen. Probably get hammered pretty hard, but that's a major if.
