How bad will the Big 10 do?

Thanks for bringing this thread back. ^^Had to quote that zinger from Cats.cats gone wild wrote: LSU will win easily over PSU. Other than that, the small 11 wins 2 games. -
jhay78Rocket, nice job- you and about 8 others said 4-3.
I thought they'd do well at the top, and they did with the top 4 winning. -
Little DannyHow come no one has called out the guys calling for the Big Ten to be 5-2 or better. I counted about five people who did so.
BTW, DCCREW you were correct in your prognostication of the UF/UC game. -
SportsAndLadyYeah little danny, still think that UC game was a no-lose? lol
-
Little DannyActually I do. Yes Florida pounded UC, but everyone expected it. The line was like 13 before the game if I recall. Most people realize UC has been through the ringer with the coaching situation in the month prior to the game. In addition, almost everyone agrees Florida is likely the 2nd to 3rd best team in CFB.
UC brought 25,000-30,000 fans to New Orleans, sold tons of merchandise, and the game was viewed by about 50% more than those who watched Utah and Alabama play in the Sugar Bowl last year. Most of America knows UC is a program on the rise and I have to think this expsoure will help the football team in their recruiting efforts, attract more students to the school and donations from alumni. -

Ankle BreakerWaiting for Cats Gone Wild and a few others to show face back on here for a plate of crow. Especially now that the Big 10 is 16-15 head-to-head vs. the SEC since 1999 - in the SEC's back yard. And the Big 10 has the most first round NFL draft picks in history. Even more than the speed laden SEC.lol

HereticI was correct at 4-3.
However, I think I only correctly picked the winner in 3/7 games in my post on this thread. -

Cleveland BuckTo this point, the Big Ten has 4 wins against the top 15, and the only other conference with one win against the top 15 is the SEC.
-
0311sdpThe top teams in the BT proved that they are competitive with anyone, however the bottom 5-6 teams in the conference are pretty bad which is not the case in the SEC, that is the difference that I see in the two conferences. The SEC bottom feeders are much better than the botom of the BT with the top of each Conference being fairly even as the overall record from 1999 in Bowls head to head shows.

No, they just proved that 4 of the 15 best teams in the country are in the Big Ten.rocket31 wrote:

cats gone wildFirst winning bowl season for the Big 10 in SEVEN years,..............congrats!

Cleveland BuckCongratulations are definitely in order. They play the toughest bowl schedule year in and year out, and any year they finish above .500 is very impressive.

they dont need to do anything, i could care less about the big tens perception and i dont know why anyone would.
i was just pointing out the failed logic in your statement, because the big ten never had a chance to prove its self against the sec and big 12 elite. -

You mean they're no longer the "Small 11"?cats gone wild wrote: First winning bowl season for the Big 10 in SEVEN years,..............congrats!
Way to throw a history shot in there while "coming clean" on your bad prediction. -

Ah yes, there's the qualifying statement. Doesn't count unless you beat Bama, Florida, or Texas. lolrocket31 wrote:0311sdp wrote:

rocket31yeah, "proving" the conference is competitive with "anyone" might take actual *proof*
and unfortunately there was no such evidence this bowl season.
with a playoff, ohio state (the big ten) may have gotten their chance to do so... -
centralbucksfan
Uh, contrary to your bias opinion, YES, in fact they did provide proof. When you go 4-3 overall, were very competative in the other losses, win 2 BCS bowl games against other conference champions, that is what I call concrete proof.rocket31 wrote:

I luv how the "rules" change ...Big Ten does poorly in bowl games, they suck. They do well, and its not proof!!
Let me guess, "SEC rules"!? LOL Sure sounds like it to me!!
