The SI article about Tressel

I'm not making any assumptions, Tressel told the players "I have lost the Chairman's support and the Board has made the decision to ask me to resign, Gee and Smith agree with this decision".thedynasty1998;788401 wrote:So you want an article that states Wexner wasn't involved? No that's not how it works. You are the one that mentioned his influence yet no one else has mentioned him. And you said yourself his name wasn't mentioned. Quit trying to pass along your assumptions as factual.
And you provide proof that he was involved. I don't have to provide a link to disprove that because he's never been mentioned. -
LJI also find it hilarious that you don't think the Chairman of Board has that kind of influence. Do you even understand how these types of things work?

You are now quoting Jim Tressel? Something you didn't personally hear him say. Okay.

I absolutely know he had the power. I just have yet to hear him mentioned. Maybe he stayed out of the matter until the resignation was presented to he and the board? -

This thread is now about squibillies -

I know what paraphrasing is. And often someone leads the quote with a statement such as, "to paraphrase, ......"
We can agree that Wexner has never been implicated in either supporting or failing to support Tressel by anyone other than you. -

And Tressel, and the players at the meeting.
But moving on -
lhslep134LJ, why are you even treating dynasty like he deserves a response? This is the same dude who thinks Jermil Martin is the key to the entire thing just because he transferred to Ashland.

Him transferring to Ashland isn't important. What he told someone in his interview regarding his relationship with Rife is. Way to come on here and try to downplay it though.
You did read the SI article right? The one that said Rife was giving Martin cars. -
ohiobucks1The board pushed him out. Fact.

That's fair to say, because the advisory committee assembled by Gee consisted of several members of the board of trustees. That committee did not contain Wexner. It did include Shumate, Jurgensen, Mitchell and Schottenstein. -
ohiobucks1Yeah, I know. One of those four names you mentioned told us everything.

Why don't you stop being obtuse and say what you mean? -

Explain -
ohiobucks1What would you like me to explain. There is a misconception that Tressel stepped down because he was trying to protect the program. He was told "step down, or be fired". He chose the former.

Which has what to do with the makeup of this committee? Either say what you mean or STFU. -
ohiobucks1Oh sorry, I was just trying to confirm that the board told Tressel he was "out"
But, Wexner had a lot of influence on the committee. He just wasn't there. -

Sure. Because committees never report back to the full board. Wait, that's exactly what they do. -
ohiobucks1You have a very simple view of this situation. The fact is, once Wexner changed his mind. Tressel was donezo
