The SI article about Tressel

Either way, I don;t think the player's dealings had much to do with drugs except maybe a dimebag here and there. It seems to me that it had to do with trading stuff that came "easy" to them as well as nothing more than their signature for things that they felt were status symbols, money, tats, car(s). Drug dealers tend to have quite the hobbies. They have to get rid of the money somehow

OSU football players can be very influential and have lots of friends. If Rife could convince a couple guys to deal for him on campus then he becomes more profitable. I've met Rife and know his family and he tends to value his family (I know it's ironic because he was a drug dealer). I just don't think his sole satisfaction was with hanging out with OSU football players. I think he used them to profit off them.

No no, Rife didn't just get his rocks off through memorabilia, he talked HIGH PROFILE IN THE SPOTLIGHT guys into dealing for him. Man, if I was a drug dealer, I would want guys who are under a spotlight

Once again, not Gee nor Smith asked Tressel to resign, the BOARD did, their bosses. The board had wanted to ask for his resignation but Wexner stood behind him, as soon as he pulled his support, they pulled the trigger. Any other stupid shit you want to say?

you act like this car thing was startling revalation , pryor driving a different car every other month and nobody knows? where did he park these cars? what is the compliance department doing? sure must be a lot of blind or stupid people in buckeye nation, which category do you fit in?

If you were smart you would. I'm not saying Pryor. But maybe other guys who can get into any party on campus, can be convincing and who have friends that do drugs. Drug dealing is still sales.

Where did I say it was startling or even act like it? Just telling you the facts. If you want to attack me for it, go ahead, but you still will be ignoring reality

I don't know what LJ's agenda is. He's denying such obvious things. Says Wexner was the only one keeping Tressel's job for him and then says Wexner alone isn't big enough to have him axed.

lol what? Wexner is the Chairman of the board, he was giving Tressel support. Where did I say that the Chairman of the Board couldn't have Tressel axed? LOL quit making shit up

That Wexner pulled his support when the NCAA started an official inquiry about the cars. Read the thread instead of asking stupid redundant questions

thedynasty was talking about how he got a full ride to school, and was acting like a know-it-all badass because of it on another thread. I called him out, and he got all defensive.

A badass? I gave an opinion that players didn't need a stipend to survive. And I never got defensive. Why are you completely making up lies? Get a life.

Where has that been stated? Gee put together an advisory committee that said Tressel should resign, Wexner wasn't a part of that committee.

Oh really? The board had nothing to do with it
  • LJ
The board asked him to resign, he sent the resignation to Gee and Smith and the advisory panel said "yeah that works"

Just in case you were wondering.

LJ;788112 wrote:Oh really? The board had nothing to do with it

Did they? You are the one that wants facts, so where was the board involved? There were members of the board on the advisory committee, but it wasn't the board of directors.

The advisory committee nor Gee asked him to step down. The Board did. There are your facts

Honestly you may be right, but that's now how I understood it. Again where did you learn the board of trustees asked him to resign?
