  Yes I believe JT lied and told no one. HE was the violation -- and when he finally did fess up, it was reported.

  I don't know what kind of car you drive and don't care. yes there are some poor people driving really nice cars but they are usually on welfare, living in the projects and dealing drugs to pay for them. I don't think that Pryor is dealing drugs and we all now he is not living in the projects, so how is it possible for his whole family to purchase cars from this dealership. All I am saying is that if you were not a die hard OSU fan, you would not be looking for the needle in the haystack excuse to justify the problems that have been attached to Pryor. I hope you do not think this car investigation is the end of the problems, this is just getting started and it may get worse. They need to cut ties with both and put the school back in the right direction before there is no return.

  well then that makes you a fool, because tressel said he told no one then he said he told pryor's mentor. which makes a whole lot of sense . tell a mentor but hot your boss when you have a clause in your contract that states you must tell your employer. this story that OSU is telling must be some amoeba story it changes all the time. when can we believe jim tressel he basically says he is a liar. and do you think this tattoo thing just started with pryor? and do you really believe that these guys were trading meorablia to a person be investigating for drug trafficking for just tattoos? i'm sure you do. how does the song go, what a fool believes ?

  LULZ at the hypocrisy. Knightryder, if you weren't a fool you'd realize WriterBuckeye was referring to Tressel telling anyone in the athletic department. Of what relevance is it that he only told Pryor's mentor if the violation is that he didn't tell his bosses? The OSU athletic dept reported the violation as soon as it was found out. You clearly don't understand any of this.

  The OSU athletic dept reported the violation as soon as it was found out? isnt jim tressel a member of the athletic department? isnt jim tressel bound by contract to report such violations to his superiors? so your telling me a guy who has been coaching for 20 years is willing to violate the terms of his contract? futhermore tressel was aware of this back in january of 09.

  January of 09? Where did you find that information? You seem to be about 15 months off.

  i dont care if you believe me or not. but this investigation is just getting started the ncaa is digging back ten years , talking to former players checking grades, test scores, how many tutors each player has and interviewing tutors etc. and those at OSU are bracing themselves for USC like sanctions .

  if you and your "sources" say so....LOL. I would be VERY surprised if they got USC-like sanctions or if the NCAA added anything to their violations list. The car thing is old news, and OSU would've fired Tressel by now if they felt there was going to be an onslaught of further violations. Simply put, no coach is worth that much damage to the program. The NCAA is going to come down hard, question is whether they come down harder on OSU or Tressel.
  
  Realistically what I see happening is vacate 2010 season, maybe suspend Tressel for season, possibly even some recruiting restrictions.....That's probably underselling it a bit, but it's a lot closer to reality than USC-like sanctions. The OSU athletic department has been very proactive during this whole process which is something that didn't happen at USC....regardless of what your friend the Janitor at the Woody Hayes Center and his "inside information" say.

  The only thing you could say that was old in that was TP borrowing the loaner car. Everything else is a recent occurrence

  Didn't Boise just get hit with lack of institutional control for far less offenses? I think OSU is already in hit water with the Tressel stuff alone, but if there is any merit to te car stuff that could be bad. Buy I think it will be really difficult in finding any wrongdoing.

  From what I understand this info is coming from the prices listed on car titles. A buddy of mine bought a Corvette from Kniffin a few years ago and Kniffin kept offering to put a lower price on the title and my buddy kept refusing (he's just like that, he once drove back to the store to pay for a $.50 pack of gun he forgot to pay for). I could just see the state of Ohio coming down on the dealerships for tax fraud (it's a state issue, not a federal issue).

  Football was stupid insignificant offenses but like 4 or 5 other sports had bigger offenses and women's tennis had some MAJOR offenses.
  
  Lack of institutional control deals with the athletic department as a whole, not an individual sports. It's hilarious that people don't understand this. USC got hit with institutional control because of violations in football AND basketball.

  What's the state issue? Is there a car (personal property) tax in Ohio, or is it a sales tax thing?
