You're right it was a 300C, but we still don't know if he traded something in. -
sleeperThere's an old saying that applies to the haters of OSU:
"If you can't beat them on the field, you beat them off"

Tiger2003This is some good news for the Buckeyes on the whole car investigation.
But on Wednesday, the newspaper reported it obtained a previous title on the vehicle listing the purchase price as $13,700 for a sale dated June 27, 2007 and financed through Huntington National Bank.

We actually don't know what he paid. -

that too. -

So how do they find that out? If a dealership is going to go through the trouble of titling a car for half it's worth for tax evasion, certainly the rest of their paperwork will match. So unless Gibson can prove he paid different, he paid 13k for it, correct?
IDK, I'm asking. -
WebFiresleeper;764978 wrote:The car had been in an accident, significantly driving the price down because not many people want to try a car with that kind of history.
Keep hating, we'll keep winning.
If it's been in an accident, then he may have paid 13k. But it would also have a salvage title, if it was totaled. I have not seen where this was reported. Do you have links?
Not being a hater. I'm having a discussion. Something you seem incapable of. -
WebFireOneBuckeye;764979 wrote:It wasn't new it was a year old. He bought a 2007 model in 2007 with 13k on it. I bought a 2007 sebring in 2007 with 7k on it for about 12k. Now they aren't the same car but not that far off.
That car in 2007 with 13k miles was probably valued at or just under 30k. This is a $30k + new car in 2007. You might get a couple thousand off for 13k mile version in the same model year. In fact, I just bought a 2011 Sonata, and the used 2011s with anywhere from 5-20,000 miles were only $1-2k less. -
WebFireInteresting comments from Spielman...

It wasn't totaled, it was just in an accident. I don't have a link, look it up on carfax. -

Subpeona bank records
People title cars for way less than they paid all the time. I have even done it a few times in my life. -

In all fairness that is new news to me. I thought Spielman would be the last one to jump off the Tressel bandwagon. -

It can help in the amount of tax one has to pay.LJ;765131 wrote:Subpeona bank records

Think your on the wrong thread. -

Yep, that's why people do it. That's why I keep calling it "tax fraud". -

Once OSU is done checking (mostly rechecking) the records and basically call the dealer out as a fraud, it's going to get the proper title/coverage it deserves. -

So a story about press conference comments on 5/9 was in an article on 4/26? Smooth.
I don't think I claimed any big, scandalous, findings, did I? I said interesting comments. Take it for what it is. -

I did it once, and I got a nice letter from the tax office. I had to either prove the purchase price or pay the tax difference on the book value. I sent them a check. -

Do you have the VIN? -

Yeah they do random audits sometimes. It just depends. -
