Cincinnati is Who I Thought They Were...

  • lhslep134
An overrated offense due to the fact they haven't played a good defense all year.

It's easy to have inflated stats when playing against a bunch of nobody defenses. Ask Oklahoma about that last year when they ran into an athletic defense in Florida.

And the weather's not an excuse, Pitt has to deal with it too and they're moving the ball.

Pittsburgh's defense is in the top 20 in the country.

    Hmm...

I tried to point that out last week during the Illinois game that Cincy hasn't faced a good defense all year and once they face a team with a comparable offense and decent defense they'll lose.

I feel like most of us have been saying the same exact thing.

No defense, and an offense that hasn't played against a great defense = FAIL.

This is similar to what I think will happen in the Rose Bowl, just not a 21 point lead. Oregon has a flashy offense but a sub par defense.

Defense wins championships. UC does not have a championship defense.

Correction: UC does not have a defense.

    TROLLS!!!

I don't think cincinatti could have played worse. They have the ability to score so fast that I don't think this game is over. The last minute of the half was pretty exciting.

I think Pitt is causing them to play bad. Pitt's defense is something Cincy hasn't seen all season. This game is not going to get close IMO. I don't think Cincy is good enough to hang with Pitt.

To be fair, Pitt is benefiting from some very poor officiating, however.

    Not so fast my friends...

UC is making a comeback, now just down a score. I really need UC to win this game to get WVU into the Gator Bowl.

I agree with the OP. The Big 12 as a whole is guilty of no defense/all offense each year

Of course this thread was started by an Ohio State student...

Tie game with 5:45 to go.

    Hell yeah!

^ And what does me being an Ohio State student have to do with anything?

What a bunch of jackasses on this thread. Insert foot in mouth now.

LOL at this thread. Nothing like a premature "they were who we thought they were" ejaculation.

Where is the OSU club golfer at now?
  • lhslep134
The reason Cinci is in this game is because of how well their defense is playing in the second half.

When this thread was made, Cinci wasn't moving the ball at all. In fact, they still haven't moved the ball really, they've been the benefactor of great field position (nothing wrong with that).

Cinci's offense, and I'm sure many of the Cinci fans here can attest, has not played particularly well today. They've had great field position because of an amazing game from Gilyard and some stupid penalties committed by Pitt.

I stand by what I said.
  • lhslep134
Thedynasty, I'm right here you tool.
  • thedynasty1998
Guess what, a football game consists of four quarters.
  • lhslep134
^^ And I stand by what I said!!! Cincinnati's offense is overrated, and they haven't impressed me in the least today. And if you think otherwise you haven't been watching this game.

Like I said, Pitt has committed some dumb penalties that have given Cinci continued drives and great field position.
  • thedynasty1998
You claim Pittsburgh's defense is good, yet Cincinnati currently has 38 points. Is that not a good performance against a good defense?

Something has to give. You can't have it both ways.

And yes, I have been watching the game. I wasn't going to be too quick to jump on the Pitt bandwagon, because I knew that UC could score in bunches.

Nothing premature UC defense is horrid. They are all offense no defense at all.
