Cincinnati is Who I Thought They Were...

Cincy will be playing the best that comes out of the ACC, which is on par with the big east and big ten for badness. They can definitely win their bowl game. They hung right with VT last year, and they are improved this year.dlazz wrote:
Oklahoma was like that last year. Panned out for them come bowl-time, right?jordo212000 wrote: Cincy has flaws, especially on defense but they can score with anybody. -
lhslep134My thread is littered with instances of me giving credit to Cinci. Where exactly have I not manned up?
I'm not manning up because MY OPINION is that Cinci's offense is overrated despite today? If you feel that sticking to my opinion is not manning up, then you must be a woman and not know what manning up means... -
SportsAndLadyTim Tebow is a terrible college QB...it's MY OPINION okay so shut the hell up!!!!!!

jordo212000
Look man I don't take it personally. I'm not an UC fan, I could care less.dlazz wrote:

But Trep is right, who Cincy plays is probably going to be much different than who Oklahoma played last year. Oklahoma ran into the buzzsaw that is Florida. -
jordo212000
And several people continue to snicker at you. To try and make a claim that Cincy's offense is overrated and to continue to stick by it after they put 45 on Pitt is just silly.lhslep134 wrote: My thread is littered with instances of me giving credit to Cinci. Where exactly have I not manned up?

Say what you want about their defense and their chances of winning in the bowl... but the one thing that you can't take away from Cincy is their offense -
thedynasty1998So, they go undefeated and beat Pitt who everyone thought would roll them.
But now they will get rolled in the Bowl game? I don't get it. They are not going to be playing Florida, or Texas, or Alabama. They will likely play the ACC champ, as someone said.
I wish they would get matched up with either Penn State or Iowa if one of them sneaks in, because I think it would be as bad of a blowout as there would be in the bowl season. -
thedynasty1998lhslep just proved himself as a a fool. I don't know anything about him, but you can't start a thread like this and then stick by it.
He has said Pitt's defense is top 20. Then Cinci scores 45 on them, and all of a sudden Pitt's defense was only good in the first half? Yet, Cinci's offense was overrated in the first half and their defense was awful. And then their defense starts to get stops and their offense starts to roll.
The thing with the game today that made me think Cincinnati would come back in the second half is that Pitt couldn't give their RB 50 carries. I knew they would eventually have to do something else. -
unique_67Cincy is 12-0, Big East Champions and will be playing in a BCS Bowl. I'd say this has been an outstanding season for UC, and it will be great to see them in a BCS Bowl.
-
thedynasty1998I actually just checked some of the Bowl projections and UC likely will play the loser of the SEC Championship game.
So they might get rolled in the bowl game, but at least they will be playing against a good defense. -
jordo212000
Yeah maybe, thats definitely a possibility. I just had the assumption that the SEC loser game host wouldn't pick Cincy because they (and their opponent) didn't fill the stadium in last year's gamethedynasty1998 wrote: I actually just checked some of the Bowl projections and UC likely will play the loser of the SEC Championship game.

trep14I just think its funny that some OSU fans are so butthurt by the fact that Cincy is having a more successful season that they have to completely throw Cincy under the bus minutes after clinching a BCS appearance. It is truly laughable.

I couldn't agree with you more. It's so childish and pathetic.trep14 wrote: I just think its funny that some OSU fans are so butthurt by the fact that Cincy is having a more successful season that they have to completely throw Cincy under the bus minutes after clinching a BCS appearance. trep14If Cincy plays the loser of bama/florida, they will probably lose, but I don't think it will be by as much as people here make it sound like. I really hope they get matched up with an Iowa/Penn State....they would absolutely take either of those two to the woodshed.

Just like they did Illinois? I think Cincy beats up on Penn State, but Iowa with a healthy Stanzi could hang and possibly beat Cincinnati. Cincy showed some poise today, but they still don't impress me as a complete team. Their offense is insane good, but the defense is pathetic at best.trep14 wrote: If Cincy plays the loser of bama/florida, they will probably lose, but I don't think it will be by as much as people here make it sound like. WebFireI am laughing at this whole thread.

I disagree. Iowa and Penn State both have significantly better defenses than any defense that UC has played this year. It'd be a very, very good game with either of those two teams, however.trep14 wrote: If Cincy plays the loser of bama/florida, they will probably lose, but I don't think it will be by as much as people here make it sound like. If UC plays Florida or Alabama, I think that those teams would beat UC by 14+ simply because they are the best defenses in the nation. -

I mean were still both going to BCS bowl games so it's not like OSU isn't having a good season loltrep14 wrote: I just think its funny that some OSU fans are so butthurt by the fact that Cincy is having a more successful season that they have to completely throw Cincy under the bus minutes after clinching a BCS appearance. I couldn't care less. I just can't stand the city of Cincinnati. I had to live there temporarily, had to put up with the thugs on the Bengals, and now I have to put up with the fans that think that UC is primarily a football program now.
I'm happy to see somebody different in the BCS games. But it's not like OSU didn't make a bowl game, and we're jealous or something. Lol.
There's nothing to be jealous of. -

Actually, I'm an OSU fan, OSU definitely had a successful season considering where it looked like OSU was headed after the Purdue game. I'm just also a college football fan and the Buckeye cheerleaders who think that the Big Ten is the best conference in the nation and that any team that doesn't play in the Big Ten sucks annoy me.SportsAndLadies wrote:

You'd be hard pressed to find one person that thinks the Big Ten is the best conference in the nation.trep14 wrote:

We know the Big Ten is really in a rut, but they're still superior to the Big East. -

People on this forum have been calling for UC to lose to everyone they play for the past month and its sad how some people have been rooting against UC so hard simply because the "best team in Ohio" thing. You may not be, and that is why I said "some" buckeye fans, such as the guy that started this thread, he would qualify. I myself am a Buckeye fan, but I also recognize the success that UC is having and can give them the respect they deserve.DaBrowns41 wrote:

I agree that it's silly that people are getting upset with Cincy because they want to be the only team in Ohio that's good and all.trep14 wrote:

But I'm personally sick of many people throwing me in that stereotype because I hate Cincy, but happen to be an Ohio State fan.
I personally enjoy competition, and I'd love to make it a rivalry, TBH.
I just don't like the University, the city, the fans, etc. It dates from as long as I can go. -

Some people on here certainly act like they are. While I agree that the Big Ten is a better conference, it isn't nearly by as much as people on here would like to think.DaBrowns41 wrote:

thedynasty1998That's the thing, what makes them superior to the Big East? Both conferences are bad.
Personally I think the Big East is better, and if you want proof, well the Big East had a better Bowl record last year.
And for those that think Penn State and Iowa have these great defenses, what makes you think that? The entire Big 10 is pathetic offensively (other than maybe Purdue), so obviously the entire conferences defensive statistics are going to be inflated.
Match up the top 5 teams vs. the top 5 from the Big East and the Big East wins. -
DaBrowns41
I just think we're in a rut, personally, but that could just be me hoping. The last few years we've really been down compared to the SEC, Big 12, and now Pac-10.trep14 wrote:

Hopefully we'll get back to where we used to be. But the Big East will be a mediocre conference for awhile, IMO.
