Indiana @ Ohio State - Sun. 4 pm - CBS

Ankle BreakerThought it was about time to get a thread started on this one. IU will play hard and I hope the Bucks come ready to play. Don't take any Big 10 game for granted.

I'm being semi serious. Barring them taking out players, they will be closer to 30 than to 15. They already ran IU out of the gym at IU and the game was over by the first half under eight timeout.
OSU is the worst matchup in the conference for Indiana. Just have no way to play defense against them. -
september63Laley, really? I'm thinking of taking ur opinion to the 100 bet. (Not vcash). I am guessing this line pops in around OSU - 13.5?

Id be pleasantly surprised if my boys kept this under 15.
Side note: I cant believe the support the Hoosiers are still getting from their fans in terms of TV. To have this be the CBS 4pm game over some others (Michigan St - Purdue, for instance) is insane lol. -
hoops23OSU wins by around 14

reclegend22I think it's safe to say that Ohio State is largely responsible here for this game being nationally televised, but I would agree that Indiana's support, at least in regard to Hoosier fans themselves, is something to admire. They certainly haven't abandoned ship. In fact, I might go as far as saying that Montgomery Hall has been as loud this season as it ever was during the Mike Davis years. Although, I could be misremembering.
Ohio State by a comfortable 18. -
vball10setThe Buckeyes seem to be refocused after losing two out of the last four, and really ratch it up today to get their momentum going rolling into the Big Ten Tourney...OSU 72, Indiana 51

I agree OSU is a huge part of it being the 4pm CBS game...but if this was NW, PSU, or any other school struggling as bad as IU has been the last 3 years I doubt its put on.
...and Assembly Hall isnt any quieter or louder than I ever recall as a whole. Obviously you have your moments, but in general its been steady. We forget Mike Davis had some good teams until Bracey Wright became an enigma his SO year really, which coincided with Jared Jeffries leaving early after the March 2002 run. -

I hope they do all that. Then Indiana can be the only team to show up tomorrow and win!!!!

ytownfootballNo offense to you or your big IU ego Laley, but I think this late in the season we're going to see the Big Dog atop the B1G, regardless of who it is at 4 pm.

Well, as I said that is certainly true...but I dont think if NW, Iowa, or PSU were as bad as IU has been they would be getting shown. Other big games in the conference couldve been shown.
All I can find is the Forbes stuff, which doesnt say who brings in the most to the Networks, but it does kind of hint at it in these rankings. The most valuable college basketball programs in America:

Haha...yeah I looked for some sort of supporting corroboration to bolster my assertion but was unable to come up with anything. Your shit's weak, but it's better than what I got. -

lol, I know its weak. Its more of a hunch imo, because I cant understand (other than this reason), why this game is getting that slot on that station. Purdue-MSU is the logical choice in my eyes. -

september63Ohio State -17.5. This line seems a bit high. Look for Indiana to sneek a cover during garbage time?

Indiana's name is still valuable. While MSU-Purdue is probably the better game, the #2/#3 team in the country playing against a school with a famous basketball name has to be worth more to the network.
I think about it this way. No network is going to choose a game they'll think less viewers will watch (Purdue-MSU) over a game that might not be as competitive but will draw more viewers (OSU-IU). It just wouldn't make sense from a business perspective. -

No I get that, I just didnt think people outside Indiana realized how much Indiana still draws to the networks on TV. So I was shocked it was slated for this slot, because Purdue-MSU is the obvious choice for the "best" game.lhslep134;693331 wrote:Indiana's name is still valuable.
