Diebler just couldn't find his shot, it had nothing to do with taking unwarranted shots. There is a major difference. -

He is devoid of talent. The couple guys they have are underclassmen and playing woefully out of position. Im not a Crean lover and am more critical of anyone on here, but he has the hardest rebuild job of all time. Cant judge him until next year at the earlier. -
Laley23As for Thomas, the guy is a shooter and scorer. Matta doesnt need him per se, so he has a quick hook. If Thomas was playing 20+ minutes a game, he would be scoring regularly, I have no doubt about that.

I mean, I get what you're saying, but I think now a days we have this expectation that all freshman that are highly touted need to come in an just beast, but that isn't always the case.
I agree, but these players are elite recruits. They have played basketball their whole lives.
It should only take them a few months to realize their role on the team, Thomas really hasn't adjusted like Craft or Sully. Right now, Thomas is playing his role in today's game. Took a wide open 3 ball, another in transition that Craft flipped it back to him and has hit the boards hard like he has been asked.
He hasn't drove to the lane wild, out of control like in previous games. He hasn't even taken a bad shot yet, which is a first. -

Yes, Matta and the Buckeyes do need him, and I can guarantee if they make a deep run in March, they will need him at least once there as well. -
devil1197And if Thomas play within his role, it will only make OSU that much tougher to beat.
That gives OSU 7 players that Matta could rely on in big game situations. Coming into this season I believe Matta was thinking that Thomas would be one of those guys, today he is playing like it. -

Just take a look at Harrison Barnes. He struggled for a majority of the season before finally figuring it out, and he was one of the more highly touted freshman ever. -
LJwhat a play by thomas

Tiger2003Thomas has 16 points Indiana has 18.

devil1197DeShaun's day imo.
Everything is falling for him, probably even better since its against Indiana.
Diebler is a beast. -

per se was a key word in there. They can with without him, and they have been all year is my point. They dont need him to be a starter getting 35+ minutes to be a good team. If they did, they would suck. -
devil1197This is what OSU needs going into the tournament.
If one of the main starters goes down, a bench player steps up. Sully in foul trouble and Thomas steps in.
We will need this down the road. -
Tiger2003Damn if Diebs made that the roof would have came off.

I don't think if OSU counted on Thomas for that much time, they'd suck. The dude was one of the top recruits for a reason and it's proven that relying on freshman, especially great ones doesn't really hinder your teams performance. -
vball10setSibert sure didn't take advantage of this extra PT, but Thomas sure did..GO BUCKS!!!!

osu45804@BBaptistHoops Something going on as teams leave court at halftime. Crean shouting at officials, then at Matta. Guess it's on again. #buckeyes

vball10setCrean's days are numbered at IU anyway, IMO--he acts like a CYO coach out there...GO BUCKS!!!

I dont think you are getting what I am saying.
I mean, They havent needed Thomas to play a huge role on this team, which has hurt people perception of what he brings to the game. With extended minutes, I think he would be averaging 15 a game. But the Bucks dont need that, thus far, out of him. It has resulted in quick hook after a shot a lot of times, which in turn leads people to get frustrated with him. When in reality, I think if he was left in those games, because they needed him to be in the games he would be showcasing himself quite often.
By suck, I was insinuating that Sully wasnt dominate, Diebler and Buford were having terrible years etc....that being the reason Thomas was playing 35+ minutes. Hope that made more sense. If you disagree now thats fine, but at least we will be on the same page lol. -

He didn't play terrible, but missing the wide open layup off a Craft dish. -
