The final whistle on Monday night. Forget about the fact that it's an OSU avatar.....I don't usually leave my avatar the same this long!!!! I need something new and fresh. I'm tired of having this avatar and it being the same as sherm's and karen's. It's damn confusing. LOL -

haha, didn't you just ask about this yesterday or the day before?? Our sentence ends after the BCS NC game. To be honest it really hasn't been that big of a deal. The only real problem for me is sherm, killer, and I all have the same thing and it can get confusing when we are all posting on the same thread. Other than that, we lost the bet and I don't have any problem owning up to it. Few more days to freedom. -
vball10set^^^LOL--I did, but to be honest, I forgot what thread I asked you about it on--was it this one??

Fantastic news. I've read that Lynch and Tuitt have become close and he's been around the ND guys quite a bit at the Army AA practices. -

GREAT, NOW WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO WITH THIS BONER? -
grodtGreat new about Lynch I would love to see our DLine with that possible trio in a few years.
As for Rudolph...kind of bummed but really we knew it was almost guaranteed he was leaving when the season started and the injury only gave us something to cling to that might change his mind. While he won't be easy to replace, Eifert did a decent job in his place. I'm not too concerned about TE next year. However, I will be very worried about WR if Floyd decides to leave. -
Tobias FünkeI think Eifert was better than decent.
The 2012 defensive front seven, off the top of my head and after six celebratory beers (...hey, it's an excuse to drink) :
DE- Tuitt
NG- Nix
DE- Lynch
OLB- Shembo
MLB- Te'o
MLB- Calabrese
OLB- Williams
NASTY. -
bababooeyIshaq is unlikely to declare @ the AA game tomorrow.
"There's some information that came up and I want to make sure it settles out first," Williams said. "I'm just waiting for everything to stabilize at a particular school. I can't really discuss that, sorry.
The only thing I can think of is Bradley leaving PSU. Who Knows....
Not looking good for ND IMO. -
killer_ewokI found a news story online that said that there is still an 80% chance that Ishaq will decide tomorrow at the Army All-American game (according to him).

karen lotzhttp://www.irishsportsdaily.com/recruiting/premium-football-recruiting/Jim Harbaugh’s introduction as the new head coach of the San Francisco 49ers will have no impact on the recruitment of Amir Carlisle, according to his father Duane.
Carlisle, a 5-foot-10, 180-pound athlete from Sunnyvale, Calif., is currently committed to Stanford, but he will make a final announcement between the Cardinal, Notre Dame and USC on Saturday.
“Harbaugh really doesn’t have any bearing on the decision per say,” Duane Carlisle said. “Amir really likes Notre Dame. That’s whether Harbaugh was going to be there or not. He and my wife went out to Notre Dame last month and they really enjoyed the trip.
“They seem to have anything Amir wanted spiritually, academically and athletically. That’s a good thing and he’ll go ahead and make his decision soon.”
Duane Carlisle did add that his son hadn’t made a final decision yet.
“We’re still going through the process, still evaluating the choices, dotting the i's and crossing the t's,” he said. “He’s very excited about the opportunity coming up to make his decision
“I think it’s very close, very, very close. He’s very, very impressed with Notre Dame as we all are.”
Notre Dame head coach Brian Kelly will get the final sales pitch to Carlisle.
“Coach Kelly is coming next Friday,” Duane Carlise said. “That’s how we planned it.”
Mr. Carlisle said his son would not wait to see who the next coach at Stanford will be before announcing his decision. He did say his son was also being recruited heavily by USC, where he took an official visit back in September.
“They’re all three great schools and great programs,” Mr. Carlisle said. “It’s deciding what you think is the best fit. Notre Dame offers a lot of what he wants in those three areas that I mentioned. Coach Kelly’s won everywhere he’s coached. The guy’s been able to orchestrate very, very productive offenses. With Amir’s skill set, I think he’d fit in well there.”
The younger Carlisle had a strong showing at the Under Armour All-America practices down in Orlando earlier this week at wide receiver.
“Amir’s natural position is running back, that was what he played all his life,” Duane Carlisle said. “That was his first time playing receiver and never mind playing receiver, he’s playing against the best kids in the country. He gained a lot of confidence as far as what he could do against some of the top DBs.
“The discussion Amir had with Coach Kelly was that he would be moved around as an offensive player. He could play running back, line him up in the slot, line him up all over the field. That’s really what all three of the coaches have been talking about. With Amir’s versatility, he can create mismatches all over the field.”
Duane Carlisle declined to call the Irish the leader at this point, but it certainly doesn’t sound like he’d be disappointed if that’s the route his son chooses.
“I like what they do,” he said. “I really like what they do as a dad and as a parent.” -

karen lotzThese are normally premium articles and not available to read but for some reason they are all public right now.
With recruiting for the 2011 class getting ready to enter the home stretch, a few new names are popping into the picture for Notre Dame. Whether through coaching changes or last-minute reservations for high school seniors who realize it is about time to sign their letter of intents and trying to make sure their decisions will be the right one. Florida commit Chase Hounshell (Lake Catholic High/ Kirtland,Ohio) is doing just that. Hounshell, who was going to be a early enrollee for the Gators, decided against it and by doing so started the rumor mill flowing that since Meyer was gone, Florida was out.
"I always wanted to finish off high school," explained the senior on way he chose not to enroll early. "So it wasn't the coaching change. I mean it wasn't like I was saying, 'Oh no Urban's retiring and I don't want to go there now.' It wasn't like that. I'm still committed to the Gators, but it did give me time to stick around and listen to Notre Dame and finish my senior year up.
"Notre Dame has always been in the picture for me. Once Urban retired, they started calling me a lot and I decided to check them out on a visit. I have been gradually increasing my relationship with all of them."
Hounshell took a quiet official visit to South Bend in December and hosted Brian Kelly and Ed Warinner at his home on Wednesday.
"The visit went great," he said. "Coach Kelly was at my house yesterday with offensive line coach Ed Warinner, who is my recruiting coach. They just stopped in to tell me what a perfect fit I'd be, tried to change my mind about Florida and we discussed my next visit."
Many people believe the Irish are recruiting the Lake Catholic star for offensive line, but according to Hounshell that's not be the case.
"Notre Dame is recruiting me for defensive end," he claimed. " "I got defensive player of the year for Division II and got most valuable lineman for the state of Ohio. I finished the season with 70 tackles with 15 being for losses and 9 sacks."
So as signing day draws near, the Ohio standout will take a final look at Notre Dame and Florida before deciding.
"I know I'll be at Notre Dame on January 22nd," said Hounshell. "I guess there is a big banquet that Coach Kelly wants me at. I don't know the exact date of the Gainesville visit yet, it could be before or after the Notre Dame visit."
So what does he like about each school?
"Florida is just a powerhouse SEC team every year in and year out," explained the senior. "I love the new coaches coming in and I really like the commitments. I've met most of the commitments so far and I've built pretty good relationships with them. That would be the two big things I like about them.
"The main thing I like about Notre Dame is the people. I'm a big people person and everyone I met at Notre Dame seems to have great character."
Hounshell knows that time is running out and will have a hectic month ahead of him.
"I still plan on making my decision on signing day, I still need to make my visits and they won't probably be for a couple weeks, and then I probably will have a week to think about it." -
karen lotzScarlett:
Portland, Ore., defensive end/linebacker Brennan Scarlett hasn’t made a final decision on a college yet, but he has decided when he’ll announce that decision, according to his head coach.
Steve Pyne tells Irish Sports Daily that the 6-foot-4, 245-pound Scarlett will announce his college choice on Thursday, Jan. 13 during a press conference at Central Catholic High School.
Scarlett will choose from Notre Dame, California, UCLA, USC and Stanford. He has taken official visits to all five schools. Scarlett hosted Irish head coach Brian Kelly and Notre Dame assistant Mike Denbrock for an in-home visit on Tuesday night.
“I thought it very well,” said Pyne, who was at Scarlett’s home for the visit. “Coach Kelly presented himself well, was very informative in terms of what his vision is for Notre Dame and Notre Dame football and all of his players and what he expects. It was pretty good.”
The visit gave Scarlett’s father a chance to meet Kelly.
“I think that was a big deal,” Pyne said. “His mom went on the trip with him, but his dad hadn’t had a chance to meet. I think that was positive on both ends.”
Scarlett had initially hoped to make a decision or trim his list shortly after Christmas, but Kelly and Stanford head coach Jim Harbaugh weren’t able to get in before the dead period, so Scarlett delayed his plans.
“I certainly don’t think it hurt,” Pyne said of the delay.
Harbaugh was scheduled for an in-home on Wednesday night, but “he had other matters to attend to.”
Pyne says he doesn’t have a good feel if Scarlett is leaning one way or the other, but he does believe Harbaugh’s future could impact the Cardinal’s chances.
“I think that’s a huge factor for Brennan,” Pyne said of Harbaugh’s future. “That could all change in a moment’s notice. Harbaugh could say he stays and now all of a sudden they’re back in the mix. It makes the decision that much more difficult for next Thursday.” Scarlett is scheduled to arrive in San Antonio on Thursday for the U.S. Army All-American Game, but he won't play because of an injury. -

sherm03So I've been in Vegas all week for work, and have had very limited computer access. I woke up today...just in time to see Lynch get a sack with a minute to go in the AA game. I came on here to mop around about not having him, and then read the news that ND is still in the running! Now I'm in a great mood!
Didn't get to see the game, and I'm assuming since there was no post on here that Ishaq didn't make an announcement today. Correct?
