Notre Dame Football 2011: The Brian Kelly Era...Ascends?

Not a tattoo fan, but that is slick.

I just bought three Notre Dame - Purdue tickets. I have some buddies who are interested but they didn't commit immediately and I bought the tickets anyway because they were face-value.

If they don't grow a pair and come, I would be more than willing to sell it to one of you fellows for the face-value price of $69.17 haha

The uniforms for Michigan, up close:

Sweet! Looks like some 15 yard penalties in Michigan's favor!

I wouldn't be surprised if Michigan gets gloves with the block M.

I'm going to be in the minority of ND fans here, but I'm not a big fan of the gloves. I think they look awesome...but I hate that celebration, and always will. Especially now that basically every college does it, it's just something I don't want ND to associate with.

Eh I'm alright with them because its something the players are excited about. Its not breaking a long standing tradition or anything. Ian Williams and Brian Smith have already been tweeting how jealous they are that they missed out on it. A large part of it is just keeping up with the times, and as long as ND doesn't start wearing camo helmets, I'll live with little tweaks like this.

    Holy Lord those are fantastic.

For special occasions, I don't have any problem with them. I'm not sure I'd be in favor of having them every game though.

Ya...I know what you mean. Like I said, I think they look cool. I'm just not a big fan of this trend in college football and was hoping it would die a painful death. And I was glad that Notre Dame hadn't done it.

But, if this means they will score more so they can show them off, I will be 100% happy with it. LOL.

"I'm 100 percent sure that Notre Dame will be in it until the end. The only other school I can say that about right now is Nebraska."

    From Andrus Peat. :D

Indianapolis safety John Turner has committed to Notre Dame. The 6-foot-1, 195-pound Turner from Cathedral High School becomes Notre Dame's 11th commitment in the Class of 2012 after receiving an offer on Thursday following the Irish's one-day camp.

Many people aren't big fans of his since the stars and offers aren't there, but Kelly has time and again said he bases offers off of his personal viewing as much as anything. He clearly saw what he liked. Given his talent for finding guys in the rough throughout his career and his overall coaching pedigree, this doesn't worry me.

Now give me some god damn five-star guys. :)

Floyd pleaded guilty to DUI today. His license was suspended for 90 days, and then for 6 months after that he will have a monitor on his ignition. Also got 1 year of probation and has to pay court costs.

Probably trying to do anything "extra" they can so he can play football. The coaches may have wanted this so he doesnt get another or something. But your right, if they didnt want a blow start, and ended up with one, that lawyer should look for a new profession lol.

My sister-in-law was required to have one after her first and only DUI.

Not sure, from what I've read it is consistent for most first time DUI's in the county. They dropped the failure to stop at a stop sign, which is what got him pulled over in the first place. Not sure if you guys read the article, but his lawyer asked for driving privileges to class and practice and that was denied.

A car on campus is useless anyways. If he lives in Irish Row or something like that he's only a stone's throw away the Gug and the practice field. From there it's only another stone's throw to DeBartolo.
