Notre Dame Football 2011: The Brian Kelly Era...Ascends?

rock_knutneDidn't see if anyone posted this year's shirt:
-
karen lotzSaw that yesterday. It looks a lot better in that pic than I saw before. I don't really like that blue.

Agreed, I like navy better but the art work is really cool IMO.karen lotz;742786 wrote:Saw that yesterday. It looks a lot better in that pic than I saw before. I don't really like that blue. -

I hope so. I don't want him at Michigan. -

How high is he on Michigan? I would think with them moving to a more pro style offense he would be a little turned off to UM. I think you guys would be in good shape for Kiel if he isn't Irish. -
Tobias FünkeKiel is a stud. If he doesn't end up at Notre Dame I give it a 50/50 shot he ends up at Indiana, honestly.
-
karen lotzI saw that about Kiel/Indiana on IE. Why the hell would he go to Indiana? I mean I guess it'd be ok since Notre Dame won't play Indiana but you'd think he'd want to go somewhere else. Would like to see him commit to ND and then start working on some WRs to come along with him.

That is an absolutely terrible picture of "the shirt". It is royal blue, the color in that pic isn't even close. The green jerseys on the back really pops. I like it as much as last years easily. -

I think he ends up at Notre Dame, but his family really likes Michigan and Michigan has offered. You are right though, the Hoke offense doesn't really suit his style. I'm interested to see how he does in college. His numbers were inflated and I don't think he is as good as many think. Mind you, I don't think he is bad. But I see so many comments about this stats and people get all googly eyed. -
Tobias FünkeThose same people also got "googly eyed" by Hawai'i and Texas Tech quarterbacks of yesteryear.
I'll start the running total on the 2012 recruiting class:
Tee Shepard - * * * * * CB (California) - 6'1 175 - Alabama, Auburn, Miami, Oregon, USC
Ronald Darby - * * * * * ATH (Maryland) - 5'11 175 4.31 - Alabama, Auburn, Florida, FSU, Miami, Penn State, USC
Taylor Decker - * * * * OT (Ohio) - 6'8 290 - Michigan, West Virginia, Wisconsin
Nick Baratti - * * * * S (Texas) - 6'2 215 4.48 - Texas Tech, West Virginia
Scot Daly - n/a LS (Illinois) - 6'4 230 - n/a
Rumored to be on the brink of committing are:
Justin Ferguson (Florida WR 6'2 205 4.5; Notre Dame vs. Florida)
Maty Mauk (Ohio QB; Notre Dame vs. Michigan?)
Amara Darboh (Iowa WR 6'2 190 4.42; Notre Dame vs. ???)
Deontay Greenberry (California WR 6'3 190 4.44; not sure if he's offered or not haha was rumored to be happening at the B&G Game.)
Bryce Treggs (California WR 5'10 170; was "blown away" on his visit.)
Fall needs to get here fast. -

Sorry it wasn't up to your standards.
BTW, I copied from UND.com, so file a complaint with them. -

BTW I love the shirt.

Hamp89I DVR'd the spring game and watched it again this morning. I have to say my feelings on Hendrix are much different today than they were yesterday. He seemed to really settle in during the game and you could really see his confidence improve along with his play. It was his first real live action, and it was nice to see him really start to get better throughtout the game, which the other 3 qb's never really did. I'm not so sure Hendrix doesn't see quite a bit of playing time this year. He has a perfect blend of what Kelly wants in a qb. It will be really interesting to watch this work out. The crazy part is that we are all talking quite a bit about Rees, who is Hendrix's age. If Kelly isn't worried about using Hendrix's eligibility last year none of us would probably even know who Tommy Rees is. It's going to be a great competition.
-
Tobias FünkeNone of us would know who Tommy Rees is if Hendrix would have enrolled last spring as Rees did. He was a step away in the learning curve and it gave him the opportunity.
The important thing to keep in mind when watching the spring game is how vanilla the play calling was. We really have no idea how much more of the playbook Rees and Crist know than Hendrix and Golson. That is the issue in my opinion.
I'm pretty sure Kelly is wondering if he is going to take a quarterback (Hendrix) and have him lead a team with BCS potential. Wood at RB is great, the WR corp with Floyd is good, and the defense has potential to be outstanding. Does he want to venture into the unknown with Hendrix or go with a lesser quarterback hor this offense who is more mature as a player? It's a freaking tough call.
I don't see Golson being anything but redshirted after rewatching that game. However he will be my quarterback in NCAA 12 no doubt. hahah -
Hamp89Yeah I suppose I'm more excited for Hendrix because of his potential to be very good in this offense - for 4 more years. While I'm okay with Rees and Crist, it seems we know exactly how well they can play in this offense, which is just OK. I could see it finishing up with Crist as starter with packages for Hendrix. I think Rees drops to 3rd.

That is how I see it as well. However if Crist blows his knee out against South Florida, Rees would be the guy he sends in. -

Interesting that Fr. Jenkins says he assumes the brunt of the blame as every operation on campus falls under his guidance. Regardless, some idiot on here won't be satisfied and will start with the normal bullshit that someone needs to fired or how hypocritical ND is when according to that story it was a collective set of circumstances involved in this accident and ND assumes all responsibility. -
karen lotzHere's the full report from ND.

One less lineman, yet an entire body heavier. Unreal. There will be plenty of teams getting beat up physically this season, and they are finally on par with BCS-worthy defenses in terms of size. -
The EqualizerGot our shirts in the mail today and it's true that the blue in those pics look lighter than it is. But it looks awesome. We've been buying these shirts for the last several years and its the best looking one yet I think.

sherm03Thought I'd post this here since most of the ND fans will see it in this thread. Zibby is an animal!
