2010 All Big Ten teams announced

Persa as 1st team QB for the coaches? hmm
  • darbypitcher22
I"m a huge Buckeye fan, dont get me wrong, but Mike Adams is not a first team All Big Ten offensive tackle.

and you would have thought that the coaches would have put Boren and Brewster on first team, because I thought they were worthy.

And sometime explain to me what the big deal is about Chimdi Chekwa... everytime I watch him he's chasing in coverage and unable to find the football

There are a lot of people who need to get lives.
I feel like @TPeezy2 should know what it is for people like me. I actually have to be SMART to get into Ohio State. #Smfh.
@TPeezy2 if you quit football, you can kiss your little white girl collection goodbye!

I'm not surprised. Before succumbing to injury after leading a game winning drive vs Iowa, Persa played an incredible season. Despite not having much of a supporting cast, he set a Big 10 record for completion percentage. Even so, his biggest advantage was his speed/elusivity--he extended plays and bought himself plenty of extra time, even though every team playing NU knew that Persa was the only legitimate offensive threat.

My only issue with Persa is he didn't play a full season. And in my eyes, that should automatically DQ you from any post season honors.

I guess idiots on Twitter don't understand sarcasm

What did he miss one game though? He's a senior too so I don't know, I feel like it was more of a sympathy vote?

He did have a great year though, can't argue that.
  • wildcats20
He missed the final 2 games.

He's a junior who missed the final two games after rupturing his achilles against Iowa. He'll be back next season.

I bet Pryor really is pissed he didnt make a team judging by what people have said about his ego.(idk if he has that bad of an ego though honestly?) Idk who id put him over though

Yeah, looked up all the info, actually saw the Iowa game, couldn't believe he ruptured it doing what he was doing at the time.

Agreed. As do a lot of college athletes. Things like twitter make it very easy to do.

Yeah, it's kind of a freak injury. It isn't clear whether he was hit earlier in the drive, and then it finally gave out after the TD pass, or if he was running on adrenaline and then suddenly realized the pain, or if it just randomly gave out after Claiborne tapped him. Very odd.

Jeremy Ebert coaches first team all big ten. hell yeah.

I've heard a lot of people who have been around him say similar things in regard to his ego, of course I don't know personally, but definitely have no reason not to believe those that have said it. Seems to be why he takes a lot of shit, which goes with the territory.

I agree about Chekwa. Seems like every team picks on him for good reason. ALWAYS chasing. hmmmm...

You're didn't play close enough attention to Adams this year then.

A lot of Buckeyes fans are still held up on his troubles before this year, and because offensive linemen don't get attention, don't realize how great of a year he really had.

I said before the Iowa game that the Adams/Clayborn matchup was one of the most important, and Adams more than held his own against the future NFLer.

Also, Chekwa is a great corner. Very physical and has good ball skills. Being caught out of position at times happens in a zone, but in man to man coverage he was absolutely terrific.

You can tell he has a big ego. He talks mostly about himself, rather than the team. When he stated the reasons he was coming back next year, it was all about him. Before The Game, the camera got a close up of him while stretching. He held up 2 fingers. It's all about him.

People are still hung up on the Chekwa of last year(he was baddd) Hes much better this season.

pretty sure one of the reasons he's coming back is to win a championship..Pretty sure thats a team award.
  • georgemc80
I figured he was coming back, because only morons or those who are soon to be ineligible would leave early this year.

It's the Phil Jackson rule. When your already the best Coach and everyone knows it you don't win many if any COY awards.

Don't totally disagree. But I also know and believe its much tougher to be on top, and stay on top then to "sneak" up. Living up to expectations is one of the more difficult things to do in any sport. There is something to said for keeping your team at the top as consistantly as Tressel had. People take it for granted.

I personally don't know, nor have heard anything about his ego. But what I have seen, has been nothing but good. On multiple occasions I have seen the team around. Pryor ALWAYS takes time to post for pictures with little kids, sign autographs. The times I have seen him in public, he was the last one to leave an area where fans were. He never snubbed anyone even if it meant going out of his way to just slap five to a fan/kids. I have been impressed with what i have seen of him out in public.
