Week 12: (8) Ohio State def. (21) Iowa, 20-17

Don't count your BCS Bowl before it hatches. I said Ohio State COULD(not would) be the first 11-1 team not to get an invite to a BCS Bowl. It would be a good thing, just to put one more log on the bonfire of not having a playoff.

Wisconsin is good, but we did lose to an inferior team IMO. You could argue either way, and I wouldn't have a problem.

I just have a problem with Buckeye fans beating their chest about going to a BCS Bowl because of the "money" we bring to the table, and not because we took care of business on the field. The Buckeyes will be fortunate to make a BCS Bowl this year. It just makes me sick to see Ohio State appear to be the bar-none best team in college football one week, and then mix in a few snoozefests where we snatch victory from the jaws of defeat. Groggy football has happened way too much this season IMO

SO, you're predicting that if TCU or Boise State gets invited to a BCS Bowl instead of Ohio State, there will be 5000 empty seats???

Please quote where I said that?

Do you know what TV ratings are?

You're right let's not be happy about the fact that we have one of the most impressive runs of football in Big 10 history. Instead, let's worry about a game that we lost over a month ago. I mean besides LSU, Florida, Oklahoma, and Texas( and USC before the before the Reggie Bush incident), every other team in the country would love to have our run.

OSU finishing with 1 loss is more impressive than Boise going undefeated anyways, so it's all right in the end.

Sorry but beating Virginia Tech, Oregon State, and a bunch of bums doesn't mean you're deserving of anything.

Edit: I shoulda said beating Virgnia Tech and a bunch of bums...because Oregon State is not a good football at all.

True, it's been a good run, but look around at the Big 10. Who else was going to win during those years? The Big 10 wasn't exacting teeming with great competition the past few years

Ohio State has tried to let others win and they don't step up to the plate

To play devil's advocate, everybody's favorite whipping boy (Va Tech) went into Miami and beat Ohio State's "key" jewel in their schedule

Harris is out for Miami FYI. They are starting a Freshman.

Interview with Pryor right now. Looks like her hurt his right peck, he won't let go of his chest
  • Cleveland Buck
They didn't beat the team Ohio State played. Miami doesn't have their QB.

and? Jacory Harris hasn't exactly been lighting it up this year haha. He was key to our victory

He has thrown 11 INTs thus far (to 14 TDs)
  • Cleveland Buck
And Wisconsin isn't inferior to anyone. They might be the best team in the country.

Harris is lightyears ahead of this kid.

If you say so, I just know that when I look at the schedule Va Tech beat Miami and is in the driver's seat for the ACC.

Good thing your opinion really doesn't matter.
  • Cleveland Buck
Illinois would be in the driver's seat for the ACC. It's not a big accomplishment.

Funny how our opinion of something changes when it no longer benefits us. A few weeks ago Miami was a "great" win despite the fact that everybody already knew the ACC was horrid. The ACC being bad wasn't surprising to anybody.

Both of my statements were factual, but okay.

TV ratings won't matter because all of the advertising is probably already sold for the BCS games. The difference is that TCU and Boise will bring the 30,000 people who have tickets to the game. OSU would bring everyone who has tickets and another 10,000 people who don't have tickets who will stay in hotels, rent cars, and buy merchandise. Also, for every T-shirt, hat, and jersey sold with a bowl logo on it the bowl gets a portion of that money. OSU has the most alumni of any school in the country and they have possibly the largest fan base in the country. They will sell twice as much bowl merchandise as TCU or Boise would. That's where the money difference is, not in the TV ratings or ticket sales.
  • Cleveland Buck
Who said Miami was a "great" win in the last few weeks? It's a good win, just like Virginia Tech is. It's Boise State's only one.

Factual but ignoring other facts. The new kid has 4 tds to 4 ints through 3 1/2 games. Yeah, he isn't any better than Harris. Give me a break.

TV Ratings always make a difference. It increases their marketability for coming years as well.

But Boise State probably has more impressive wins than OSU does honestly (or at least as many impressive wins).

Correct, but just because the Fiesta Bowl might pair TCU and Pitt this year and have horrible ratings doesn't mean that they will have two teams that won't draw viewers like that the next year. Trust me, TV ratings for an individual BCS game this year will have no bearing on what advertising money that bowl will bring in next year. If all of the BCS bowls have poor ratings then it might matter, but one bowl with poor ratings doesn't. And it honestly doesn't matter what TV ad money a particular bowl gets anyway, because they don't directly get any of that money. They get paid by ESPN and it's a set amount. ESPN is the one who makes more or less based on how much advertising they sell.
