Week 6: (17) Michigan State def. (18) Michigan, 34-17

Hb31187I agree his turnovers were terrible and very very very costly. But at the end of the day he really wasnt slowed completely down at all. he averaged in the neighborhood of 375 total yards a game and today he had 315ish. So its a drop, but its not like he was overwhelmed.

hoops23Individual stats don't tell the whole story, because it looks like Michigan was playing with a lot of garbage time.
The score is a much better indicator of the their performance.
34-17 isn't a good showing. -
Trueblue23Let's all remember this was only Denards 6th career start..
The kid is young, he will get better. -

We all said that with Pryor early on and it didn't go over with non OSU fans.
Never hurts to try though. -

LOL, exactly. -

LOL...very true. How many threads or posts did we read on how overrated Pryor was or how bad he was? A LOT! Comes with the territory. I said from the getgo, that Pryor junior year he would be a Heisman contender and have OSU in the title hunt. Not saying I know it all by any means. But it takes raw QB's time to develop. -
Big GainRobinson MIGHT BE 6-0 190, Pryor is 6-6 240 and Pryor can run away from defenders just as well as Robinson. Robinson has to look around, between and under the players between him and his receivers when inside the 20. The reason for the 2 picks in the end zone. When Robinson can rush for 200 yards it's not a problem for him to throw a few short passes and have his receivers get a lot of YACs, as he did against bad defenses. Against an above average defense when playing from behind, Robinson having to throw 25 passes after his rushing has been shut down will always be problematic for RichRod's type of QB, in RichRod's offense, playing in the Big Ten.

huh?
Did you?
Some of these posters seem to want Denard's cock in THEIR mouths. -

Reminds me a lot of Pat White in that regard. Although I will say Robinson is better than Pat White already. Pat White could always make the throws when the ground game was going and they weren't playing from behind. But once WVU was behind and White had to air it out to catch up, that's when things fell apart. But that's just how the Rich Rod offense is set up. -
Big GainNO...what the know nothing nobodies were saying was Pryor would NEVER be a QB, he should play wide receiver. His bad footwork, bad arm motion and poor judgment could never be corrected.

bigkahunaHere is my take on the game.
1. I liked how we came out in a 3-4. It obviously worked for the 1st part of the game and G. Robinson showed that he has a little bit of competency.
2. The RBs showed SOME life, so people won't be able to 100% key on DRob.
3. The Defense didn't play horrible if you look at the big picture. 3 of MSU's TDs came on Big Plays. 2 big runs and a trick play. For the love of God, do something on 3rd down more consistently.
4. If we limit our mistakes on Offense, we can play and beat a lot of people.
MSU deserved this win and they took advantage of our mistakes, which is what good teams do. I didn't walk away thinking they were a GREAT team, but they are a sound football team that executes well. -

U mad? Tell me again how great UM is going to do against a good D? -

It's not the offense I'm worried about. Almost 400 yards today, and they easily left 18 points on the field. Now, that defense? Damn. -

They looked like a decent offense with a QB who can't rely solely on his arm. But no no no, UM had already played good defenses, their Offense was going to be great against a good D. -

I won't change your mind. But I think DR can pass and beat a lot of teams. He was off today. It happens. -

I don't think he can and the only test we have is today. -

Good for you. -

Got to meet him in Ann Arbor this past spring, seemed like a really nice guy, and i haven't heard anything from anyone else to lead me to believe otherwise.
I hear nothing but positive things about him in regards to his attitude, attention to academics, etc. Don't really see the need to call the kid a "thug" for any reason. -

Beat a lot of teams? Not with that defense. Football is not a one man show. Robinson is good...but no one is that good to be able to beat teams single handedly week in and week out. -

LOL! So true.
I was just giving you crap btw. -
dlazzI just read the in-game comments (from page 8-12). The UM fans sound ridiculously stupid trying to play up DR's and Michigan's performance. It's really quite simple:
They finally faced a good team whose defense didn't suck.
It was bound to happen eventually, and by their showing today and a quick glance of their schedule they will drop their games against Wisconsin, Iowa and Ohio State.
The game against Penn State is a toss-up IMO, since PSU's offense is non-existent this year. -

And if they lose those 3 they are 8-4, which is far better than the 3-5 wins most here said they'd have. -

Tiernan
They won't beat JoePa either and 6 - 6 it will be and they will go to a crappy bowl like the Meideke Muffler and get beat by another mediocre second tier team and end up 6 - 7 losing season and goodbye DickRod (if Pizza Boy doen't fire him before the Bowl game which he probly will). Exposed and bull-dooozed yesterday Webster, nice little season while it lasted.WebFire;514502 wrote:And if they lose those 3 they are 8-4, which is far better than the 3-5 wins most here said they'd have. -

Well if that does happen, I hope they do boot RRod.
