Pryor "I want to leave a legacy (at OSU) That's why I'm staying four years"

I really do expect him to show a lot of promise this year, and honestly, I think Hall showed a lot of promise last year. I just hope Tressel isn't set with Herron and Saine and ignores the impact that the younger guys can make (I don't think he will). Because I would be shocked if Herron holds onto the #2 spot with the talent behind him. He's had his chances, but hasn't made the most of them. -
dat dudeLoaded with proven RBs? No.
Loaded with talented RBs? Yes. -
Commander of AwesomeThey also dominated the Big ten, Pryor takes away yds and carries, and the split carries among 3 different backs. Only so many carries/yds to go around and its hard to rack up top numbers when you splitting the carries among 3 other players. Nice FAIL.

lhslep134thedynasty1998;448195 wrote:I think we are confusing depth with loaded. Obviously they are deep. And to respond to my stalker, no one gives a shit how many stars you have once you step onto campus. Will Berry become a star? Maybe, and I surely hope so. But at this point, OSU is loaded with a bunch of average RB's, for OSU's standards.
Last year's stats:
Saine: 145 attempts, 739 yards, 4.8 avg
Herron: 153, 600, 3.9
Hall: 48, 248, 5.2
There were 6 RB's in the Big 10 who rushed for more yardage, and that's just not something that you expect at OSU. You always expect to have a leading rusher. Now I do think that the running game is highly effective part because of Pryor's ability, but the ONE piece I think this team might be missing is that stud RB who will get you 100 yards every single game.
I'm sorry but I don't care if 2 running backs get me 150 yards or one does. If anything, I'd prefer to use two backs because they're not the same runner, they bring different things to the table. -

+1. The very least of my concerns is rushing the football. I don't care if 5 RBs get 5 carries a piece, the running game will be just fine. -

I understand that as well. It's been proven to work, and work well. USC did it with Bush and White, Auburn did it on a few different occasions, there are several other examples as well.
I guess my point is, OSU doesn't have that #1 RB. We are spoiled in that we expect a stud RB most years and OSU just seems to have "good" RB's this year. And it's really concerning when you have a RB like Herron who only averages 3.9 ypc. That's just not good enough.
Like I said before, it's really the only position that you can look at and say, "I wish we had someone better there" other than maybe WR. Saine and Herron proved to be good enough to take OSU to a Rose Bowl win and a preseason #2 ranking, hopefully if nothing else, they improve from last year. -

SQ, what do you mean by dominated the Big 10? OSU didn't even lead the conference in rushing last year.
Would that be a pwned? I'm not sure what that means, but this is where you would typically use it right? Stalker. -
Commander of AwesomeThe issue it that we have so many talented RBs. The days of THE guy are almost over in football. While Herron did only manage 3.9 yds per carry, he did what he was asked to do which is run straight up the guy and knock those defenders around. I wouldnt expect him to avg. 5.1 yards per carry when most of his runs were on 3rd and 3. I would think Berry/Hall over take him this season.

OSU won the big ten. That would be domination. Reading Comprehension FAIL, but I guess that's what I should expect from a 5 yr graduate. -

Herron had 153 carries. I would hardly say, "most of his runs were on 3rd and 3". That's just such a dumbass comment. Was he their short yardage back? Sure. But most of his carries were not 3rd and 3. He averaged about 15 carries per game, I highly doubt more than 3 carries per game were "3rd and 3".Commander of Awesome;448220 wrote:The issue it that we have so many talented RBs. Oh, so that's what you were talking about? How convenient when we are talking about rushing the ball, yet you make a comment concerning winning the Big 10. Guess that makes sense from someone who tries to take shots at someone's dog and gf who you looked up on someone's facebook page. STALKER. -

Really? RB is of very little concern to me. I understand you like the "big name" RBs who get a bulk of the carries, but there is no lack of talent at the RB position this year. The only concern with the position to me is whether Tressel will have the balls to sit Herron and let younger, more talented RBs get the carries.
The safety position is of the most concern to me. By far. -
thedynasty1998
I think we are in a battle of words, but when I think of talented RB's at OSU, I think of guys who have a future in the NFL. Not sure of who on this roster has that. I have no doubt that some will play in the NFL, but it's hard, at this point to point to that one guy.dat dude;448233 wrote:Really? RB is of very little concern to me. I agree about Tressel giving carries to a younger guy.
As for safety, obviously Kurt Coleman was a stud and he's tough to replace, but we have Ohrion Johnson who has been talked highly of, and Moeller who was set to start last year. -
dat dudeActually, it will be Jermele Hines (who I have confidence in) and most likely Johnson. Johnson is my main concern.

I was taking him for granted because he was a starter last year. -
AutomatikI really really want Berry to pan out. He and Pryor in the same backfield could be deadly.
I've only watched him in random highlights and the AA game. He can FLY. I remember one play he got a bubble screen from the backfield and just blew by a few defenders....crazy acceleration. He also got his world rocked once and fumbled. -

Read something by one of the Dispatch reporters that the RB's have really been working on catching the swing pass out of the backfield. I love to hear this, because I think guys like Berry, Hall and Saine could really make stuff happen in the open field. Create a little space for them, see if they can make one guy miss and create some big plays. -

That doesn't even make sense. I said we dominated the big ten, and that they used 4 players to run the ball. Not sure where the issue is, and I am not concerned that they didnt have "one" guy lead the big ten in rushing. Nice FAIL point.
Also I pointed out that your GF had broader shoulders than you did, and thus wasn't worried about you because you wanted to meet up to fight me, LMAO. Nice fail internet tough guy. -

You are such an idiot. We were talking about rushing statistics and the personnel at RB. You said they dominated the Big 10. Sorry if that statement led me to think you were saying OSU dominated the Big 10 in rushing, since it's obviously what we were talking about. Nice fail.Commander of Awesome;448287 wrote:That doesn't even make sense. I said we dominated the big ten, and that they used 4 players to run the ball. Facts:
1. You searched me out on facebook
2. You commented about my job, my college, my fiance and my dog
3. You mention me in threads that I'm not even involved in
4. I never said anything about meeting to fight
If those points don't make you a stalker, I don't know what does. -

This is the last time I will respond to you, but that proves nothing. I never said I wanted to meet to fight you, I just stated another fact.
Stay off my facebook page, and if you talk about my fiance again, I will make threats, and those will be clear. -
