Ya know, you really do come up with some good comments....... imo, of course.Old Rider wrote: We play to the level of our competition... thats why this game was close....
Like I've said before............come out and "step on the throat" -
FlashWe did get after it in the second half and had a 6 point lead, but inability to finish let them back in. I agree there are a lot of good coaches in our district who will see this strategy and try to make it work to their advantage.

riderbbBRF,
Must of been a good one sorry I missed was out of town, did get a text message from my wife asking for 3 new officials, my commrades had a good laugh at that one. -
BRFRiderbb: a couple more posts and then you can PM me!
Did you know?....for all the Rider faithful, that you have to make more than 5 or so posts before you get the honor of being able to send a PM?
Now you know! -
RedRider1Havent been that upset at a game in a long time...those refs were outright terrible.
Riders were up 27-20 and ready to pull away...then Wasson gets 3 fouls in about 3 minutes of game time....two of those were questionable off the ball calls. Sly takes him out and we lose 1 of our 2 weapons.
The call against Corbett (loose ball @ halfcourt) was garbage.....light touch fouls were being called (against us) but the barnball (by CF) wasn't.
The worst was Jake getting socked in the mouth...no foul called...and then the ref who missed the call removing Jake from the game due to a bloody mouth.
Just very frustrating all around....the only positive was that Jake went "all-world" in the last 3 minutes. -
Mr. RussellCongrats to Orrville for getting the number one seed!
Triway #2
Hillsdale #3
Smithville #4 -

Pitman has the bracket up on the Wooster D III thread. We play Friday Mar.5 at 6 pm against the winner of Black River and Norwayne -
RedRider1here's the bracket.....

I could see Loudonville being an upset special in the bottom half. -
CCRollyClear Fork cheap shotted LaLonde from Wooster on a breakaway dunk at their place and nothing came of it. Their mindset must be if you can't beat 'em...try to hurt 'em. Congrats to the Riders on the #1 seed.
-
RedRider1None of that went on...the CF kids played rough, but nothing excessive. This was all on the refs to call a balanced game. I dont like seeing refs chaning the flow of the game....or seemingly targeting a player or one team.
There seemed to be anger in one of the refs calls and mannerisms...that tells me he was making it personal.
I'd love to see Sly's grade cards for those 3 refs. -
Series62Clear Fork gave up the game due to their inability to advance/protect the ball and hit those free throws. I was surprised to see that Orrville couldn't "run" away from Clear Fork with so much speed and talent. Were it not for some great shooting from Jake??? The "old rider dude" is right, they are playing down to their competition.
-
rrfanLong history of CF being cheap and ref not calling what they should down their.
It is not a new problem and they (administration) should step up. Bottom line it needs addressed. They can't compete in basketball in the league and by being cheap like they are is not helping there cause. -
Mr. RussellJust a note..
Don't Clearfork and Orrville have the same number of OCC titles? And I remember when Clearfork finished second one year I think, ahead of us. So while Orrville repeatedly beats Clearfork in basketball, their league prescences are very similar actually.
With that being said, I think they are extremely dirty and it needs to be addressed.
***This post has since been proven inaccurate haha.*** -

Maybe one of the most uninformed posts I've ever read. Please dont take it personally, but you're just wrong.Mr. Russell wrote: Just a note..

Since 2004-05
Clear Fork's OCC record is 17 wins and 65 losses
Orrville's OCC record is 61 wins and 21 losses.
You cant be serious when saying both teams have similar presences in the league.
If your arguement is about OCC titles, which is a very easy arguement to make, but a weak one, then no team in the league compares to Senior. But Orrville has won 10 conference games or more for the past 6 seasons....Clear Fork has won 5 OCC games in the past 3 seasons.
And again, this past Saturday was not about Clear Fork being barnballers, they played a good game....it was all on the refs. -
Mr. RussellHaha obviously I am wrong, my facts just aren't right, I had no idea they had sturggled that badly. RedRider1 thanks for the correction!
-
FlashMr. Russell , Clearfork does have some tradition in that they won the DIII Boy's title in 2001.
-
RedRider1Wasnt it D4? That banner at their place seems so out of place.
edit - its was D3....but in 2002...beat Cleve CC nd then Cols. Ready in the finals. -
RedRider1Game will be broadcast online tonight.....
http://www.wmfd.com/gameroom/
Click the link and enjoy. A win gives us 10 OCC wins again. Need wins tonight and at Wooster to secure 2nd place all by ourselves. -
rrfanSeems funny to me the only time CF comes up on our threads is after they get beat, or are running off at the mouth about stupid things that are not correct.
You gained a lot of respect the way your football team battled last year after injuries changed the face of your team. Then Basketball season starts and it all gets spoiled by you guys. Why??? -
RedRider1There isn't a CF poster on this thread I dont think.
-
RedRider1Orrville beats Madison 71-56....we were up 27-5 after one quarter.
Zach had 32, Jake had 16.
Jake now needs 23 points to reach 1,000. Would be great to see him get it tomorrow on senior night.
Riders win their 10th OCC game for the 6th straight year. -
BRFI would like to add that our players are also really nice kids off the court.
I am happy to see them doing so well on the court. -
RedRider1sounds like we were pretty inconsistent....the mansfield radio guys were amazed at our ability to look like world beaters one second then a team that could lose in the first round the next. They actually said at times we look like we could be a team that could make it to Columbus.
"consistently inconsistent" was a term they used a few times.
I dont like seeing some bad habits creep up this late in the season...giving up big leads & playing out of control especially. Starting to resemble that "park ball" again.
Guys need to start taking controlled jump shots more instead of driving wildly to the basket. Dont put it in the hands of the refs to make the call. -
OrrPrideWas hard to believe we gave up a twenty point lead, especially how fast we did it. Turnovers and bad shot selection were a big culprit. I agree Red....we need to be more consistent, but only on the positive things. lol There is no doubt in my mind that if we play solid team ball, we can make a deep run in the tourney. Wasson is playing like a beast. He has really stepped it up, playing strong, tough ball.
It would be awesome to see Jake get his 1000 tonight. What a way to go out in your last home game as a Senior.
