Winters killed us in the paint when he was in, but he didn't play very much for some reason. He can definitely be a force in there, and it's nearly impossible to get a rebound with both Wasson and Winters on the floor. -

He can definitely be a force had he received more playing/development time. We'll see if he's committed during the off-season with strength training and playing ball to improve his pass receiving skills and "finishing" skills!thePITman;693270 wrote:Winters killed us in the paint when he was in, but he didn't play very much for some reason. BRFForget next year, for now (imo, of course). I think he's almost there right now. I am talking about for this year's tourny. And then, next year...look out. Just find a guy that can get him the ball. Well, let's take it one game at a time now.
Go Riders. Still savoring that big win over Woo. -
RedRider1He's been a starter for the better part of the season. I wouldn't say he's been lacking in playing time. Definitely needs to add strength, still losing those battles for possession down low....but I think he can be a factor in this year's run. No other team in the district has our size, and that's something we need to exploit.

RedRider1PS - Congrats to Sam Reusser, won the district title in the heavyweight division today. Will be Orrville's lone wrestling representative at state.
Congrats to Coach Alberts and the Lady Riders as well. Two nice wins to capture a sectional title. Smithville awaits this Thursday. -
OQBOur passing and lack of shooting outside has kept us from using our height to our strength. I don't care if they are jacking up 3's left and right jumpers....it's hard to get a rebound when you have Wasson (6'6") Winters (6'9") Pirman (6'5") and Brenner (6'3") all on the court at the same time! Brick and Board would be my gameplan going into the tourney.

OQBCongrats to ALL the Riders who are moving on deeper into their respective tournaments.....Madi Monheim, Sam Reusser, the Lady Rider basketball team, and the Boys basketball team....keep that great success coming!

RedRider1Loudonville beats Columbia...Hillsdale is next for 'Birds
Tuslaw beating Black River. Winner gets winner of Chipp/Orr -
Old RiderWe have 6 wins so any team we play will come out thinking they can beat us. I think Chippewa keeps it close for 2-3 quarters before we decide to play. They are gonna pressure the heck out of our "so called" guards and pack the zone tight in the paint. They will struggle with our size and physical play, but we can't shoot a lick!
We win, but ugly! -

RR1, I tried telling you that Black River is BAD. But Columbia was far worse. -

We've got SEVEN wins, buddy....and I think we put Chippewa away early. Would be nice to have this in the bag by halftime, and get reserves some floor time.Old Rider;695295 wrote:We have 6 wins so any team we play will come out thinking they can beat us. Mr. RussellChippewa really doesn't have a shot to beat the Riders but I think this will be close in the first half. Jeremy Briggs is a very good player. He will be the best guard on the court tonight. Schickler at least is a body to put on Wasson, but doesn't have much basketball ability. Should be a big game for Zach.

RedRider1Ohio High School Hoops blog picks Orrville over NW'n in the district final. They picked us all the way to the final 4 last year, so they know their hoops.
It's nice to get the respect of folks around the state, but we're 7-13 for obvious reasons..... -
OQBLet's Go Riders! Put it all together tonight, win BIG and make a statement!

Old Rider
My bad buddy...how dare I short this team a "W". Hell, it could have been 10 and I still would have thought it was only 6...just not following this team much and I have a hard time watching them play!RedRider1;695577 wrote:We've got SEVEN wins, buddy....and I think we put Chippewa away early. BRFAND 8-13 and no "one and done". Nice job, Riders!
