Is being GAY a choice or are you born that way?

Fairwood is gay for one, so I highly doubt he thinks it is wrong. Three, how are you going to tell god anything he is dead. He was just some dude that died years ago, the fact you bash people for what they want personally makes you and every other christian lunatics. If you had a gay son, would you banish him??
He never bashed fairwood, he never judged him, he said what he believes is right/wrong. He ALSO said that the Bible says Christians are to love others and not treat them any different, which is true.
He never bashed, he never did any of the sort and you adding that to his post makes you look like you can't read.
Even stretching it to say if he had a gay son would he banish him?
Give me a break, actually read what he typed before assuming he was one of the far right lunatics who want to kill homosexuals.

He absolutely does.devil1197 wrote: I bet God loved gays.
He hates the sin but loves the sinner (aka all of us).
If you people could get it through your head that if you take away the far right wing nut jobs, most of us conservative Christians believe that being gay is a sin but it does NOT change how we look at the homosexual.
I'm a sinner they're a sinner, now lets move along and treat each other with respect.
I had an uncle who was gay (died of AIDS) and a sibling who is gay. That doesn't change my belief that it is wrong/sinful. -

Do you believe any history book you've ever read that talks about history of at least 1000 or more years ago?Big_Mirg_ZHS wrote:
Did god write the book? Or is it just a collection of moral stories that were passed down for ages until finally put down on paper. When was the first bible written? Or by Whom? Who decides its actually the word of God that Matthew, Mark, Luke and John wrote down?? What if its not the word of God and just some ramblings that got written down. Im too smart to just blindly believe what i read that is basically 25 guys opinion.
According to your statement above you should NOT believe anything in the history books that is 1000 or more years old, because our history books were put together in the EXACT same way. -

Umm, he said if you don't believe in god that you are wrong. How can being a natural human being be sinful? It's called being blinded by a fucking book. Get off your high horse and think for yourself, not what you have been told for years.jmog wrote:

You are wrong, even though Christianity believes homosexuality is a sin, any normal church would accept a gay member with no problem. I know mine would.FairwoodKing wrote: I will try to be as objective as I can about the conflict between religion and homosexuality. It is true that I am an atheist and I know many other gay atheists. But I also know a great many gay and lesbian Christians and Jews, and many of them are very devout. I could never understand how it is possible to be a gay Christian since Christianity clearly doesn't want us. But it happens often, so I feel the need to state this.
Homosexuality is no different than ANY other sin in a real Christians eyes, and everyone in that church building has sin in their life, heterosexual or homosexual. -

Yeah they would accept them, and then try and get them to change or repent their sins for being a homosexual lol how is that fair? Hey we think being black is sinful, but if you come to our church and change to a white person we will accept you!jmog wrote:

If there is anyone on this thread who has thought for themselves and not just followed either the religion or main stream media's opinions...its me (Otrap as well).DeyDurkie5 wrote:

I never stated anything about being born or choice yet on this thread.
You have no idea what belief changes, self challenges, etc I've gone through in life as a scientist and Christian. So please, have a clue.
The post you quoted said nothing of the sort of what you just typed. -

If I'm a smoker the church can't change me, only God and my own desire to change can change me.
You think you know everything about churches but you obviously don't have a clue.
You are now taking it as far as bringing race into it? Come on...simmer down for a minute and think before you type. -

Mr Pat"Whether catholicism is the largest religion in the world or not matters not, as it does not hold true to the Bible in entirety either. If you studied the Bible you would be enlightened to some truths and stop making your own assinine statements. "
I have studied the bible, I know a group of people in there who looked down on everyone else for not following the Torah to the letter, even looked down on Jesus for working on the Sabbath. If I remember correctly, Jesus wasn't too fond of them. Do the Pharisees ring a bell because your holier-than-thou talk seem like you would have fit in quite well with them.
Feel free to stereotype over a billion people because of this message board, whatever floats your boat. -

The Christian god doesn't exist.Series62 wrote:If in your opinion, you choose not to accept Jesus as Lord and Savior because you don't believe that He is God.......yes, your opinion is wrong!
If he really existed, Jesus was just a prophet who is nothing more than bones today...not the son of a fictional god who will save everyone who believes in myths.
The bible is fiction on the same level as J.R.R. Tolkien's Silmarillion.
My statements are just as valid as the one you just made. I have faith I'm right and that's all. Just like you. Believe what you want, but don't act like your beliefs are any less delusional than those of others. -

Living by the Bible teaches me what is natural and what is right! Our reproductive organs were made for human reproduction. A man's penis in another man's anus won't reproduce anything but a mess.DeyDurkie5 wrote: Fairwood is gay for one, so I highly doubt he thinks it is wrong. To tell a man he is wrong because of the choices he's made is not bashing nor does it make me and other Christians lunatics. If any of my son's made the "choice" to be gay, I would love still them yet also disappointed in their "decision". They are still my children that I love, but I would still hate their decision of sin!
And much to your dismay, God is not dead, He's still alive!!! -
