Oh trust me, I'll be hanging out over there also. -
krambmanI think it's acceptable as long as it is in the town you grew up in and at the high school you attened. I have a friend who has been out of high school for eight years and his parents still go to every home game and some of the away games. Both of his parents grew up in the town and graduated from that high school and his dad played football there as well. This is basically what they have always done on Friday nights since they were in high school, so I see no reason why they should stop going now. They have lots of friends in the community that they see at the games as well.
Now, if you just move to some random town and go to the games by yourself and you're out of high school, then that's creepy. -
oberhausPlease tell me how I'm supposed to get my son interested in sports if I don't take him to see games?

Well, according to this very informative thread, you change his diaper, fill up his sippy cup, and drop him off at the gate outside of the stadium. -

How about take him outside and play with him and teach him yourself?oberhaus;1095919 wrote:Please tell me how I'm supposed to get my son interested in sports if I don't take him to see games? -

Fair enough, I just hope you're a better father than you are a moderator. Of course if you're not, your kids are probably property of the state by now. -

you have never even been in the forum I moderate, how do you know how good or bad of a moderator I am?skank;1095975 wrote:Fair enough, I just hope you're a better father than you are a moderator. Of course if you're not, your kids are probably property of the state by now. -

#1- I've NEVER been to the politics forum?
#2- How good can you be if you're never in said forum, you're always out amongst the villagers?
#3- I would think a good, or, let's just say a half decent mod wouldn't try and stir up crap like the ones here do.
Again, don't get defensive....Get better. -

#1- Two posts is not "never" now is it?
#2- If you have to say "wut", maybe you should worry about your kids running into people like YOU.
#3- Haha, "untouchables", so you start crap in other threads to make ANOTHER mods job that much tougher? Hence the distinction of bad mod.
Class dismissed. -

You still make no sense. Go back to spending your life worrying about 14-18 yr olds.skank;1095995 wrote:#1- Two posts is not "never" now is it?

LOL, actually I do because this is how I get her interested in things. Teaching and playing with my daughter is the logical way to get her interested in something; not just making her watch but participate.oberhaus;1095982 wrote:I didn't say teach him. Obviously you don't have kids. -

So since we got married and are raising our children in a different town than either of us grew up in, that deems us "creepy"??? We've been a Cavalier for almost 22 years but since it's not our alma mater, we're "creepy??? Disagree. We have lots of friends in the community that we see at these games as well.krambman;1095906 wrote:I think it's acceptable as long as it is in the town you grew up in and at the high school you attened. After moving to a town, a social event like HS sports could be a place, but not the only place, to meet new people...especially in a small town. Our games have large variety of ages that attend. We've even had people from outside our league that come and watch because they said they just enjoy good HS football. Sorry, maybe we just live in a less paranoid area but I'm usually into the game rather than trying to determine who's who. At most of our league games, a good portion of the kids, especially boys, are playing smear the ***** or just plain runnin' around with basically no supervision. At times the AD may tell them to stop...usually after someone gets hurt. My son actually broke his arm doing this. Part of growing up. Glad the Cavs had a comfortable lead.
Again, I don't see a problem with a person who enjoys HS sports, to watch HS sports. -
THE4RINGZMy second football playing son played his last game in the fall. So for the past eight years I have gone to a game every Friday night, to watch one of the boys play. Now that I don't have to follow just that team and their opponents, I am looking forward to attending whatever game I choose to attend next fall. I will pick the best weekly match up and head to that game. This is something I have been looking forward to doing.
I am not going to the games to creep on young children whether they be players, cheerleaders, or band members, I enjoy high school football for what it is. Young men who have worked hard to accomplish their dream of playing under the lights week after week.
True chances are at most games I won't know any of the players or their family members, I don't care, I love the atmosphere of a high school game. And if someone on an online message board is at the same game I am at, and wants to discuss the game afterward, I will gladly do that. -
Curly JNCF has met and went beyond that creepy point. Even enough to hijack this topic over there. Now that's creppy.

I can relate. When the playoffs start, some friends and I pick a game go and watch. Then beer and wings after.THE4RINGZ;1096025 wrote:I am not going to the games to creep on young children whether they be players, cheerleaders, or band members, I enjoy high school football for what it is.
