Why do you have such hate? A guy with a different opinion than yours made a vote. So what?

It's actually refreshing to see a few people in the Senate finally NOT blindly follow the party. Otherwise, why do we even have primaries and vote for individuals? Just check Democrat or Republican? I want to vote for an individual with solutions, not a broken party agenda.

I agree. The anger may be because these votes are making Trump look like a fool, but that's okay. This idea that you have to vote with the party is part of the reason our government is so poorly regarded by a big part of the electorate.

I agree. If there's one thing you can count on McCain to do, it's be BIG FUCKING MILITARY ALL DAY --- essentially the right-wing version of welfare leeches as far as financial drain goes.

I also agree. There's no point in even having a non-dictator government if everyone goes strict party line all the time. Just leads to a couple years of Rs in control and everyone getting sick of their shit and then a couple years of Ds in control and everyone getting sick of their shit. Wash, rinse, repeat. Which essentially is what we have now, so it's cool just to see people cross the party line borders occasionally. Almost gives you hope -- at least if you've drank enough, lol.

McCain and his actions are basically a way for the establishment republicans trying to get their party back. It has nothing to do with health care

Apparenty 95 votes to repeal or whatever didn't have much to do with healthcare, either.

I hate anyone who sends young men off to die. It has nothing to do with the healthcare vote.

McCain has the courage of his convictions, being willing to put his life and his sons lives on the line for the nation, some a Trump will never do.

Actually McCain just fucked America, all because he wanted revenge against Trump.

But that is what jackass politicians in DC do.

this is 100% true. Just last year he was screaming for repeal just like that dumbass women in alaska.

We are just screwed. Insurance is going to skyrocket now.
  • QuakerOats
I guess Trump will just have to find a way to eliminate the insurance company 'bailouts', and force the issue. This ain't over.
  • FatHobbit
I'm not sure how Trump can force Congress to have the same insurance as everyone else, but I think that's a wonderful idea.

I have no idea what congressional health plans look like but in a previous life I was involved with executive health plans that were super secret and covered things like swimming pools. I wonder if Congress has anything like that.

Congressional carve out a for insurance can't be eliminated by trump. The Congress votes for a 73% benefit coverage for them after the law was passed so an executive order can eliminate that and their secret plans.

I thought the "bailout" provisions sunset at the end of 2015 (maybe 2014), which is why companies started dropping out of the exchanges left and right.

Which might be why the continuing bailouts are illegal ................but that never stopped the obama admin before

He isn't the president any longer. I remember when Obama's administration would blame Bush for stuff and Bush's supporters would get incensed about it. Stick to that standard.

Obama did it for 8 years on everything. Trump doing it for 8 months on this 1 thing would be more than fair.

However it's being practiced, it is weak. It's weak for any administration to keep pointing backwards. That goes for dem or rep.
