If Trump murdered a baby on live television, QO would talk about how evil that baby was going to be if it grew up.

    Yikes; like hell I would.

    - I support the Second Amendment to the degree that I think the laws currently on the books are already too restrictive.
    - I support the right to free speech, meaning I think college campuses should not be censoring Trump supporters or supporting areas on campus where vocal Republicans are not allowed to go.
    - I think things like "safe spaces" (in their current conception, being "triggered," and the move to call some free speech aggression are utter nonsense, and they should be dismissed as such.
    - I oppose the federal income tax (as well as the state and local, mostly), and I think the IRS causes far more problems than it solves and should be abolished.
    - While I would fervently argue that there is more nuance to the racial issues we experience in the country right now, I'd say that those who attribute it ALL to systemic racism and wealth inequality are naive and wrong.
    - I believe any business, individual, or clergy member should have the right to refuse to serve any customer for any reason they wish.
    - I oppose wire-tapping on private citizens without cause and warrant.
    - Feel free to go back and look; I was vocal about the fact that I thought Obama was an awful president. All posture. Little substance.
    - I oppose essentially every social program in existence, particularly at the federal level.

So yes. Please. Call me left-wing again. That was cute.

The fact that I don't feed into the rah-rah-America, military-can-do-no-wrong, interventionist, aggressive foreign policy bullshit doesn't make me a liberal.

The fact that you gulp it down like a baby suckling on a tit, however, makes you sound like a cheerleader, more interested in painting the home team in the best light, reality be damned.

Good post, except for the last paragraph which, as you know, is complete bullshit.

I'd be willing to put that last part to a poll on here.

    Would you?

No it isn't. Your whole e-persona is saying that Rs can do no wrong and Ds can do no right...even if the two sides are essentially doing the same thing. Everyone capable of even the most basic reading comprehension can see you're more of a cheerleader than anything else.

The article indicates support from two former CIA station chiefs, one of Trump's deputy assistants, a guy from the Heritage Foundation and a writer for a right wing news service. Representing that tiny group as "military and intelligence officials" (which implies a widespread collective) is dishonest. If you were a reporter, you'd be guilty of FAKE NEWS.
Defense Secretary Jim Mattis, traveling to the U.S. west coast on Wednesday, echoed Trump’s threats, saying “of course” military options are available to use against Kim’s regime, which earlier threatened to make the U.S. “pay dearly” for its actions.
“The DPRK should cease any consideration of actions that would lead to the end of its regime and the destruction of its people,” Mattis said in a statement.....

As well, both Japan and South Korea chimed in similarly.

    Oh I had forgotten...

But I wanted to ask whoever deleted a prior post of mine, why exactly?

I must say that when it comes to QO, I never really come to his defense because he is a big boy and if he can dish it out, he can certainly take it.
However, when something posted by a moderator with the intent to not just politically jab to make the person appear stupid (regardless of whatever anybody thinks of QO, he's obviously not stupid - and it doesn't matter what his political beliefs are) is so obviously asinine to EVERYFUCKINGBODY ELSE except perhaps him, I sometimes can't help point it out. And for my post which basically pointed that out and turned the tables on that person is deleted, I have to call shenanigans and protectionism. Because, God forbid, two or more people have the same thought at the same time because if that DOES happen, it's obviously "parroting".

    *Edit to add*

If we are going to have our posts deleted without any notification or explanation, can we please have that established immediately? Thanks.

No clue as to what post you're talking about or who deleted it. As for QO, regardless of how intelligent a person may be, when they're over-the-top blindly partisan to the degree they think people with opposing political beliefs are "the enemy", dismiss people who aren't left-wing as lefties because they disagree with them on a given point and can't even honestly criticize the party they support (as in his recent "Well, I'm mad about how they didn't repeal Obamacare...although it was only a few of them...and you know what, those guys aren't even 'real' Rs" comedy), they aren't going to come off as particularly intelligent (or honest, for that matter).
  • CenterBHSFan
I'm not disagreeing with you, Heretic. I even said that if QO can dish it out, he can take it. But that says nothing to why posts are being deleted for what appears to be nothing but protectionism and that is where I draw the line and why I explained my reasons. It also speaks to the fact that if QO can dish it and take it, then others should be just as able, correct?

Oh it's definitely funny! But look, whether the moderator deleted it to cocoon his own feelings or if another moderator did it for the same reason, it is still jackassery (which is still funny in it's own way).

Maybe I missed it, did Trump threaten nuclear war? I saw "hell and fire" or "fury and fire" whatever his tweet was, but no direct mention of nuclear war.

He threatened, "Oh yeah, well I can kick your ass six ways to Sunday and I'm a black belt and I'm tougher than anyone you've ever seen."

I read where another of Trump's "guys" completely undermined the Secretary of State and then - of course - blamed the media for the entire incident. What a bunch of jokers.

    This post made me laugh.

When trying to argue against your extreme bias for anything with an R before it's name, you use an example of R's doing something wrong because they didn't repeal something a D did. lol.

I thought it was funny, because it was only due to a "few R's."

He isn't wrong though. It is a complete disgrace they didn't repeal Obamacare. It's hard for me to believe they didn't have a real plan for the position they are in, which leads me to believe they just lied to win seats. Par for the course for our two party system.

And it is why the party is being sued in VA by a guy who alleges, essentially, false advertising etc.... he contributed money because the party said they were going to repeal obamaKare. Novel idea I guess, I doubt he has a prayer ......but I can sure understand where he is coming from.

Oh, I saw where he basically threatened hell fire and brimstone, but never did I see a nuclear attack threat like most liberals are now claiming he is doing.

I am willing to be wrong, because Trump says some God awfully stupid crap, I just haven't seen it and can't find a quote or tweet of him saying that.

People are projecting what Trump says onto Bush or Obama and saying "oh no, this is bad and this is inflammatory". But this is not them, this is Trump. And in this case Trump being Trump here might be advantageous. He has a long track record of being a bloviating air bag, and so his rhetoric is not weighed the same as Bush or Obama.

They are saying "this is a red line" and Trump is "backing himself into a corner". No he's not. Trump doesn't care about that stuff, and will deny what he said or what people think he met. It's not going to be very different from Obama just ignoring Assad crossing his "red line".

But what Trump HAS accomplished, perhaps unintentionally, is a public statement that China will stand down if NK strikes first, and likely privately putting a lot of pressure on NK. That is really significant progress. It doesn't and hasn't mattered what the POTUS said so long as NK had China's protection. But now if NK attacks US interestes or allies, it can expect to be thumped (and would expect so if it was still Bush or Obama in office).

This is where I'm at with the whole thing. The republicans are absolutely worthless and the conservatives have no spine or balls. Democrats and republicans are both dirty whores with no pimp but themselves. Which, I suppose, is a kudos to free agency.

[h=3]US Labor Force Participation Continues To Rise.[/h]USA Today (8/13, Davidson) reports that US employers added 209,000 jobs in July, pushing the labor force participation rate from 62.7 percent to 62.9 percent and representing what many observers consider a “vibrant labor market” that is continuing “to draw hundreds of thousands of Americans back into the labor force” and that is “especially lifting less-educated workers in their prime working years.” The trend “could have significant implications for wage growth and interest rates,” as rising labor force participation slows the decline of the unemployment rate, helping to prevent the acceleration of average pay increases and to temper inflation, “which could prompt the Federal Reserve to put off an anticipated third interest rate hike in 2017.”
