Impressed by Trump administration

I don't think it was a decision, just that they lifted the injunction pending a full hearing in several months when they are back in session.

It's interesting that the injunctions were basically struck down as illegal. That's probably a good thing, but let's not forget that the courts are the last line of defense against authoritarian rule.

Regardless what happens this fall, it was nice to see SCOTUS smack down the dumb overreach of the lower courts.

Mountain Valley Pipeline gets environmental approval The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission has issued the final environmental impact statement for the $3.5 billion Mountain Valley Pipeline, concluding that the project would have limited adverse impacts on the environment. The pipeline would move natural gas from the Marcellus and Utica shale fields to US markets.

The Trump administration says it will choose between four and eight firms to construct a border wall prototype later this summer....

Yeah .... this is all new to us:

I read yesterday how Time magazine is asking Mr. Fake News to take down the fake Time covers (featuring himself of course) he has hanging in his resorts. Not the sort of "memento" type fun covers. No these are actually produced and dated to look like official covers. The problem is that they never existed. FAKE NEWS.

Reminded me of the birther narrative he was instrumental in pushing. A liar calling others liars, poetic.

Maybe he should take them down, as soon as obama releases his college transcripts.

He can staple his transcripts to Trump's tax returns.

There is a difference between not submitting something for public consumption to which the public does not necessarily have a right (college transcripts, income tax statements, etc.) and putting something out there for public consumption that is overtly deceptive.

Those magazine covers are fakes that had been displayed as genuine. Let's not pretend that's not disingenuous.

This is pretty mind-blowing to me. Not that much about Trump can surprise anyone at this point, but the narcissism required in this case is simply off the charts.

Time could probably really set Trump off if it put an unflattering photo of him on their next cover.

Key word being "kid"...and they aren't plastering multiple copies around their hotels, either.

I am starting to think he uses Twitter to do nothing but change the news cycle. Tweet something....get media distracted on news coverage and the proceed in the winning.

It takes an amazing amount of deluded rationalization to compare a high school kid showing off with a fake card that likely will be stuffed in some box in their closet and forgotten about within a year to a rich, powerful man faking an achievement to prop up his own ego.

I almost want to see the level of pettiness that would go back and forth if that were to happen.

Are the parents (the ones actually responsible for all that) trying to pass them off as legitimate? If so, then it's indeed disingenuous (I never used the term 'narcissistic' in my post).

If it's not, then that's the difference.

Also, those fake SI covers are never made to look like they could pass as real copies.

The distinction is that these were framed and displayed so as to make them appear credible. That's disingenuous. Were he not trying to do so, he might have had it framed and sitting on a night stand or tossed in an old photo album or in a junk drawer.

His tweet today about the lady from MSNBC is totally inappropriate coming from the President of the United States. It is an embarrassment to our country that someone with this mentality is in the office of Washington and Lincoln.

It genuinely was the antithesis of everything the GOP expected of its political leaders up to this point. The GOP was the party of respectability, statesmanship, good moral character, and family values.

    This guy is the anti-Reagan.

Do we know if he was passing them off as real? Did he even know they were in there? If he did, would he even know if they were fake? I might just go with some left wing nutjob just planted them in those places recently then tipped the media to it.

    LOL

Now, if we can be serious for a moment ...

You don't hang (or have someone else hang) a magazine cover of you in a publicly-accessible establishment if it's a personal memento.
