What if the polling is rigged?
Hear me out....what if Trump is getting so badly slaughtered, that the media realize the truth would cost their bottom lines a few billion in advertising? So the "race" is tightening even though Trump never had a chance? -
QuakerOatscould be ............most bizarre race I've seen, and I've been around a while.
I still don't know anybody voting for Clinton ...........not that it matters.
I still have not seen a Hillary sign ........not that it matters. -

I actually know somebody who is voting for Hillary. She's just 'enthralled' (her word, not mine) to be able to vote for a female President.QuakerOats;1809305 wrote:I still don't know anybody voting for Clinton ...........not that it matters.

Yep. She's voting on pure novelty. -

I know several, but I've yet to meet one who is doing so because he or she likes Clinton.QuakerOats;1809305 wrote:could be ............most bizarre race I've seen, and I've been around a while.

One of the ones I know is doing that, as well, but she's not happy about it. The idea is that since both are so terrible, at least one can make history. I actually had this discussion with her, and that's really what her reasoning boils down to, more or less.CenterBHSFan;1809306 wrote:I actually know somebody who is voting for Hillary. QuakerOatsPretty sad that you and she have nothing but destruction and death to offer, ergo Hitler.

Fab4RunnerI actually don't really understand who is voting for Trump other than white dudes...mostly uneducated ones.

Most non-whites to whom I've spoken on the subject aren't voting for either of them. To be fair, there are more to whom I haven't spoken, but it seems like most everyone of color that I know is either voting third party or not voting at all (mostly the latter).Fab4Runner;1809371 wrote:I actually don't really understand who is voting for Trump other than white dudes...mostly uneducated ones.
As to your question, this is who is voting for Trump:

I don't know anyone in Ohio or Virginia that is voting for him.Fab4Runner;1809371 wrote:I actually don't really understand who is voting for Trump other than white dudes...mostly uneducated ones.
Certainly don't know anyone in DC either but you could put Obama as the R this race and Hillary would still get 95% of the votes. -

Ah, so that's why you're voting for the guy who mocked POWs.Belly35;1809346 wrote:I'm voting trump because I was taught ...a soldiers life is worth saving We leave no one behind

Interesting. I wonder if it isn't a case that many people are almost as reluctant to admit they will vote for Hillary as they are for Trump.O-Trap;1809375 wrote:Most non-whites to whom I've spoken on the subject aren't voting for either of them. Bush got 11% of the black vote in 2004....Obama got like 97%, I think, in 2016 - I'd be surprised if Hillary gets less (turnout will be down in that demographic, possibly significantly down).
Trump seems to be playing the "turnout the base, discourage Dem base from turning out" game. A lot of pundits say that's what really determines the election, and I'd tend to agree. The independents in the middle, including the 3rd party voters, seem to divide evenly enough that whether they go 3rd party or stay home it doesn't really impact the outcome - Gary Johnson, for example, is only pulling slightly more Hillary voters...so regardless how many vote for him, it would appear it will mostly only reduce the popular vote fairly equally for Hillary and Trump.
Trump winning the Repub primary is going to have a much bigger impact on the future of the party than anyone switching their vote to a 3rd party. -

Mocked only one whos political ideology is skewed and not conservative at times. -

That may be the case. And I'm sure my circle is hardly an accurate sample, so my own experience may be worth a grain of salt.gut;1809385 wrote:Interesting. I wonder if it isn't a case that many people are almost as reluctant to admit they will vote for Hillary as they are for Trump.

But the mocking was about his service and him being a POW.Belly35;1809388 wrote:A little mocking is better than being left to die

Regardless of which one you say is better, it doesn't sound like either of them value or respect the sacrifice made by our troops. Do you disagree? -
QuakerOatsThe latest DNC/media tactic is to attack the Trump supporters; attempt to paint them with a broad brush as un-educated, old racist white guys. It is comical.
I don't know anyone in manufacturing, from the owners to the laborers, who is not voting for Trump.
I don't know anyone in mining, from the owners to the laborers, who is not voting for Trump.
I don't know anyone in energy, from the owners to the laborers, who is not voting for Trump.
I don't know anyone in small business, from the owners to the laborers, who is not voting for Trump.
I don't know anyone at the bars, who is not voting for Trump.
In addition, I see very significant numbers of democrats crossing over to vote for Trump; these are democrats from the most heavily democrat/unionized region of the country.
Trump will continue to do right, politically and morally, by going into the urban areas like Detroit, Chicago, Baltimore, Milwaukee etc.. to look blacks in the eye and tell them they have been sold out by democrats and horrifically destructive liberal policy over the last 50 years. The truth has to be told. If he then gets 20% of their vote, he wins.
Obviously the people voting for Clinton are the following: radical feminists; ignorant women voting for her only because she is a female; status quo establishment elites; trial lawyers; the Marxists in academia; the buffoons in media and entertainment; sufferers of urban group think; and atheists such as George Will and others with superiority complexes.
It should be interesting. -
O-TrapThe one upside for Trump supporters in regard to that article I cited a couple times is that it demonstrates that, by the NUMBERS, there is no real connection between education level and being a Trump supporter.

I can attest to this. Being right "on the river" in easter Ohio, heart of union country, I see and hear this quite literally everyday.QuakerOats;1809392 wrote:In addition, I see very significant numbers of democrats crossing over to vote for Trump; these are democrats from the most heavily democrat/unionized region of the country.
Interestingly enough, I have noticed a trend in unions. It used to be that the laborers were in lockstep with whatever union propaganda circulated. Nowdays, though, they seem to be defecting. Almost every single man and woman who currently belongs to or has belonged to a union doesn't care about what they are being told. They've made up their minds that they are going to try something new. They have noticed that the talking heads of unions have done them no favors in the recent years and are bucking the system, so to speak.
Naturally, this all tends to the bleeding out of jobs in the region where they live. -
QuakerOatsWhen the miners see and hear direct from Clinton that she is going to continue obama's edict to shut down the coal industry, they finally get it; especially with 68,000 of them already laid off. Trump even beat Kasich in all those river counties; he will crush Clinton.
-
gutI'll be shocked if you guys are correct about widespread union support. Among white male union guys, I could see it. Coal mining, sure, but those are mostly red states and won't matter to Dems (that's largely why they are so strong on their anti-coal, anti-oil agendas...global warming = votes, fossil fuels doesn't).
