What evidence thus far makes you think that?Spock;1807018 wrote:The president has a cabinet and checks and balances. HC isnt going to listen to anyone inside DC. Dude cannot even listen to his campaign staff.
Also of note, Obama actually has listened to his experts and, according to those like Gates, said the process is very deliberative. -

Okay, first things first. The president gets to appoint the cabinet, so there isn't actually much of a check there.Spock;1807018 wrote:The president has a cabinet and checks and balances. Second, Trump tends to berate anyone who strongly disagrees with him. What makes you think he'd listen to anything more than 'yes men' in a cabinet?
Thirdly, I'm curious where you got so much knowledge of Clinton's personal views of herself. What makes you think she won't listen to others, particularly when it might be in her own interest to do so? A self-centered candidate would hear out their cabinet, even if only to establish what course of action is best for them. -

What difference does it make whether she listens to others. She can say and do whatever she wants, and if it doesn't advance her personal interests then she will lie and do something else. When you get a pass from the media and you are above the law, what reason would there be to listen to others.O-Trap;1807027 wrote:Thirdly, I'm curious where you got so much knowledge of Clinton's personal views of herself. The phrasing of the start of this comment was ironic, I think. "What difference does it make ..."QuakerOats;1807039 wrote:What difference does it make whether she listens to others. However, to answer your question, I was merely addressing what Spock claimed. He claimed with what seemed to be a relatively high level of conviction that he knows she won't listen to counsel. I was merely pointing out that he can't know that, and that there might be a case made for her to do so. That's all. -
GOONx19The statement that a vote for Trump is like a vote for ccrunner is about as accurate and as terrifying as it gets.

It's called "clothespin voting".
For the younger people on here, it means both candidates stink, so you pinch a clothespin (ask your parents or grandparents what that is if you don't know) on your nose and vote for the least stinky candidate. -

You have been listening too much to Heretics whining about all the right wing partisans on this site. What it speaks to is most of us are more loyal to our convictions than any political party or individual candidate.FatHobbit;1807016 wrote:I'm actually surprised Trump isn't winning. As for Boat (but*) he has had to conjure up Andrew Jackson from the grave to justify his vote for Hillary. Jackson was a brash man who offed a man in a duel because he thought he had been cheated. As president he engaged in ethnic cleansing. Slavery was legal. As long as you do not slink to this level folks its all just part of the game. Your conscience is clear. In Boat's mind Trump = Jackson2016 and that means Hillary gets tossed a blanket. The whole southern democrat turns republican schtick.
And ptown who humps foreign policy so hard yet would shamelessly vote for a candidate that without dispute, carelessly at the very least, mishandled classified information. Information that as director Comey stated is likely to be in foreign hands. Information that would more than likely have a negative impact on our nations foreign policy objectives. -

BS: Thinks he's the only one who's familiar with history/social norms of the past. He's not, but that's beside the point. I sometimes wonder if he's being serious or facetious, because nobody else is that much of a die-hard on ideology built on feelings, except for perhaps Isadore.
Ptown: I usually try to give him some leeway. When you are born and raise in union/democrat areas it is hard to break free from all that you know (I have been there, done that). This is especially hard when you move to the Beltway and work in a pseudo-academic life.
I'm not saying that any/all of them are right, but I do understand to a certain extent. -

I had read somewhere as well that he may not be on the ballot as the libertarian candidate. Johnson has stated that he will be on the ballot in all 50 states.Wolves of Babylon;1807129 wrote:I believe he will be on the ballot -

Lol I agree that you (we?) are more loyal to convictions than party. But is it not fair to say if Trump were not a jack ass that we could vote for him and be loyal to our convictions at the same time?majorspark;1807115 wrote:What it speaks to is most of us are more loyal to our convictions than any political party or individual candidate. -
HereticWhile not 100% sure yet, I'm leaning third party (Johnson) and probably 75% that way. I have no ability to legit believe in Hillary (I mean, the whole FBI investigation essentially could be summed up as "We don't think she's corrupt, just really incompetent!" which really doesn't inspire confidence) and Trump comes off as a potentially dangerous buffoon whose main skill is firing up the lowest common denominator and getting them to parrot absolutely mindless drivel (ie: any of CC's "he'll make decisions just like me because he can't be bought!!!" shit) while everyone else is just waiting for them to lose interest and retreat to their trailers.

Lol, most of you seem cool and all even if we don't agree on certain things -- the only ones I really mock (I mean, "whining", lol, I'm not an OC hardcore conservative now) are the ones like QO for being borderline psychotic, CC/Spock for being the least intelligent person around and Belly for generally being incoherent.majorspark;1807115 wrote:You have been listening too much to Heretics whining about all the right wing partisans on this site. Dr Winston O'BoogieI have decided to vote for Gary Johnson. His positions and character most closely match what I believe a president should be. Hillary is power hungry criminal and Trump is a political buffoon. Johnson may not win, but I hope it opens the door for a break in the two-party stranglehold on the system.

But I actually read where the CPD chair said the criteria is not hard and fast, and left the door open for Johnson appearing even if he falls short of 15%. -
BoatShoesCcRunner/Spock didn't even say he is voting for Trump because he thinks he will be a good president?
