  Why are you a big Bernie Supporter? What is it that you think he can/will do that you like? I know we have been through some of this already but has anything changed?

  I am a Bernie supporter because from my perspective there is no alternative. Obama (and my one-time support for him) showed an important lesson about American politics; beware anyone who is in the pocket of moneyed interests, no matter how appealing their stated political principles. Many would argue that any length of time in office would eventually cause contradictions in message and compromise of deeply held principles. However, Bernie himself is the most illustrative example that this argument holds no water. Consistency over the course of three decades is a feat of principle that anyone could hope to emulate. Without the financial independence of running a campaign funded by individuals, absolutely nothing a candidate says can truly be trusted. So... Yeah ... call me crazy, call me a purist, or even an idealist, but as long as Bernie is in the race, he will be my candidate of choice. I will never vote for the status quo again party line candidate again. If he doesn't end up the nomination... might just have to vote for a truly progressive woman of principle..Jill Stein.

  A few things zwick.... If you were voting based on a candidate that can't be bought then you would vote for Trump. Also, just because Bernie has 30 years of experience being elected from a wacko state didn't mean anything. You do realize that he wouldn't be elected to Senate in any other state?

  I like Bernie because he is honest, sincere and talks about fixing the injustices of our times. I like him like I like mid majors in the NCAA tourney who does it the right way but I am putting my money on Calipari and the Wildcats.

  Seriously all you hear from Bernie is "political revolution", "attack the upper 1%", and "disallow major campaign contributors to influence elections."
  
  I can't believe people eat that shit up. Fixing that isn't going to fix the country's problems. It's just shit Bernie says to get young hipsters to finally agree with a politician and get out and vote for him. Not going to win an election and certainly isn't going to make him a good president.

  1. There are definitely cases where people get elected only because of their district. Pelosi being the first obvious choice. Bachman was another. No way Pelosi is re-elected over and over outside of the ultra liberal San Fran area. She is bat crap crazy.

  I like him as well, but is someone who says he'll do "X' fully knowing he has no chance of making it happen honest, or only when compared to the alternatives?

  I've thought and said the bolded section for years, even on here. The democratic party isn't what it used to be. But, on the OTHER hand...
  
  If anybody wants to be truly intellectually and emotionally honest (and it's hard to do, I admit), the very core of the democrat powers-to-be have always been about subjugation. Since the midst of the Civil War, democrats have been all about:
  - segregation of the people
  - labeling everybody (if you're a minority, you've just got to have a prefix to your identifier!) (this actually merges with my first point)
  - laboriously convincing people, by repeatedly telling them that they need a democrat in office in order to survive, you need to be the one to supply to them
  
  Those three steps are historical facts. One only has to pick up a history book or even a social studies book to see it for themselves.
  Ask yourselves... who fought to keep slavery?
  Who fought for Jim Crow laws?
  Who demands we keep segregation by insisting that prefixes for national identifiers be used?
  Who keeps telling minorities that they can't live a life on their own?
  
  I've been coming to this realization after many years of evolving thought. To think I was once a die-hard democrat lol! Hell, I voted for B. Clinton both times :/
  
  Bernie Sanders is just continuing the process of the democrat image, ie: Transplanting the ideals of the Big House into the White House platform.
