    For me, Trump has already lost my vote for a multitude of reasons. I am, however, beyond shocked that this guy is not only still in the race but by far the leading candidate in the polls.

    Really sad.

    I just cannot fathom that there are no better Republican candidates that Trump, Cruz, et al. Trump would scare the hell out of me as Commander in Chief...even though I do agree with a lot of the points that he has made.

    I think that some of the folks still in the race need to drop out to 'clear the water'. Folks like Paul, Kasich, Huckabee, Christie...and Bush to a certain degree.

    I read the piece, and agree with much of it. Obviously Trump is not a true conservative, but obviously he would have been a hell of a sight better than the current regime. I am not sure the authors get it though, responsible people are fed up with all things Washington D.C. - period. Responsible people created a republican majority in congress, yet obama does whatever the hell he wants and gets about everything he wants, illegally or otherwise. So after 6 years responsible people start questioning why the 'establishment' is not able to overcome the imposter in the WH, and it gives rise to more of a populist outsider. Is Trump my kind of guy, no; but I understand why he is where he is today. The authors need to understand that at some point, execution matters, not excuses.

    Mostly because I think there is value in not always saying exactly what you think especially in dealing with people who aren't as mentally tough as preferable. I can't imagine how the world will feel with a Trump in office; he's an asshole at best.

    Not a chance on Earth Trump gets my vote in the primaries. He only gets it in the main if he is our only option next to Hillary/Sanders, one of those "shit, have to vote for the lesser of 2 evils" type vote.

    As bad as Trump might be, he would be staggeringly better than the socialists now running as democrats, which goes to show just how truly sad and far, far out-in-left-field the dem side has become. The entire country continues to slip left on the political spectrum; JFK would be a run-of-the-mill republican today, if not a 'conservative'.

    He's not off at all. JFK was a classic liberal, as opposed to what passes for liberalism today.

    I agree that JFK was no liberal - at least by today's standards. Eisenhower and Bush senior, likewise, would never fit into today's born-again, protectionist, simplified conservative structure. That's how things evolve. Thomas Jefferson had more in common with today's Republicans. Lincoln had very little in common with today's Republicans.

    Yes. Candidates appeared separately and not together.

    Bernie promised equality and utopia. Single payer and taxes on the middle class to pay for it. But the tax would be a net savings no longer paying health insurance premiums and the feds ability to streamline and efficiently manage it.

    Hillary was asked why some people think she is dishonest. She couldn't say why that is a mischaracterization of her. Basically people accuse her of all kinds of things but she just keeps moving forward. All BS type speak. Of course blatant lies.

    O'malley's biggest applause came when he took his suit jacket off and rolled up his sleeves.

    He's a fool and a wimp if he doesn't. This is shit that will haunt him the rest of the way in his campaign, and give his opponents plenty of ammunition. Completely un-presidential. Even if he changes his mind and shows up, this petulance has already gone too far. He's auditioning for the job that gets all the tough questions, and he can't even handle Kelly?

    Maybe he is just afraid to get schooled by Marco Rubio on the nuclear triad again. Nobody noticed the first time....maybe he's afraid to push his luck.

    One would think. Every time people think Trump has slit his own throat his poll numbers go up. Who knows in this latest episode of the political Twilight Zone. Fox's debate ratings tank and Trump's go up.

    Trump has been flying in the face of the MSM the whole campaign and his support keeps building. If recent history continues, not doing the FOX debate could actually increase his support. Its difficult to predict his out of the mainstream antics.

    Though I am wary to vote for him in the primary, I kind of like the way he is going against the grain. It will be interesting to see the fall-out next week.

    ^^^I don't understand it, and hopefully when it come to punching a voting card, people are going to reconsider. Anger is one thing, but the guy you elect has to be able to govern. You have to live with that choice....and quite frankly, he scares the shit out of me.

    The dude has a massive ego which honestly could be a huge thing for the country. I'll give it to him, the guy puts his money where his mouth is and if he says he's going to do something he's going to do it. He could flat out fail or be one of the greatest presidents.

    Rubio and Cruz and others have stood up to the media as well. Trump is not a humble guy. At this point he has fuck off dollars and a near cult like following. As he said he could shoot a guy dead in the street and his supporters would stick by him. He is likely right and the debate ratings will take a shit with his absence. He's got everyone scratching their heads. I get the appeal for a candidate who turns the political process we are all sick of upside down but Trump is not the answer.

    THis will not hurt him one bit. A debate is not mandatory nor is it "presidential".

    he is flexing his muscle and the outcome will be a poorly watched debate and he will come out as a strong decision maker.

The guy might be an asshole and ignorant but he stays true to his word and does what he says he's going to do. I can tell you this, if he is the next potus America will be feared again around the world. Which isn't a bad thing
