Random political chatter....

  • HitsRus
There really isn't a place to put stuff of a political nature that doesn't fall into any of the 'big' threads, and that really doesn't merit a thread of its own.

    stuff like this....

    http://www.foxnews.com/science/2013/12/30/stuck-in-our-own-experiment-leader-trapped-team-insists-polar-ice-is-melting/

A an expedition of global warming scientists studying climate change and the loss of sea ice gets trapped in....wait for it..........rapidly forming sea ICE.:RpS_blink:

Whether one believes in anthropromorphic global warming(AGW) or not....one cannot escape the absolute irony of the situation.
Even more ironic....they have to be rescued by a icebreaker from CHINA, one of the top emitters of greenhouse gases.:D

    Too funny.

^^^You have to love the beauty of this one.

I've been following this story for a couple of days. One AP write-up on this situation said absolutely NOTHING about the "global warming" mission of these idiots.

The irony of this situation and the on-going leftist bias in the media make my head spin. lol

Maybe Al Gore can send his private jet down to save the day.

Quite possibly the worst political article ever:

    http://www.rollingstone.com/politics/news/five-economic-reforms-millennials-should-be-fighting-for-20140103

I love the assertion that "landlords" do nothing other than collect money. Our landlord would be surprised to hear that as he has to take care of stuff at our house at least twice a month, it is part of the rental agreement.

Looks like the Chinese ship is now stuck, and the American Coast Guard icebreaker Polar Star isgoing to go in and attempt the rescue.

I think Australia is picking up the bill for it, though. And, the Polar Star needed to head down there anyways to clear a shipping lane to McMurdo.

The other ironic thing about this is that this is "summer" in the Antarctic and they're still trapped by ice.

This article might have the least amount of real world relevance and insight of any article I have ever read.

My favorites were the free loading land lords and the "free money for all" items. Such morons.

Agreed. I haven't seen a single MSM mention of their purpose there. Every story I see only mentions a "crew of scientists and tourists."

    Pretty lulzy.

With such intelligent and insightful posts such as this, I can see why you'd be upset that some are supposedly disappearing.

I think you mean "worst economics article ever". Why do liberals just refuse to learn basic economics?

You want to guarantee a comfortable "basic universal income"...and then expect people to want to work shitty guaranteed jobs for a few bucks more? LMFAO

You can come up with all the ingenious jobs redistributing income you want...bottom line is SOMEONE still has to produce and create economic value for there to be anything to redistribute.

DERP.....which is it? Are we in a recovery or a recession? NV almost got rid of him the last time, hopefully they finish the job in 2016. That clown is more toxic than either Obama or Pelosi.

Who will generate the taxes that will pay for people to sit on the couch? Shapiro said, “This is the big problem with communism and socialism. It is inherently the most selfish philosophy on planet Earth. It’s the idea that because I’m breathing, I deserve something.”

A true leader would tell the congress that they are going to spend the $6 billion out of their $22 billion check book on discretionary spending account. No wonder the people of this country hated DC.
I have to watch this speech now if it was that bad.

Did you know extending unemployment benefits creates more jobs? That's what our leader says.

this was just a story on the Today Show...this is the worst "scandal" ever. There's probably a dozen stories out there that they could have ran with, if they wanted political corruption, but instead they ran with the Republican governor from NJ shutting down a few highway lanes into NYC.
  • Automatik
Is it bad that this doesn't surprise me and I laughed when I heard of this "scandal"?

It's childish, and uncalled for, but funny to me. They say Christie fucked himself regarding the next presidential election. I didn't think he had much of a shot anyway.
  • TedSheckler
    Press conference now.

The guilty part has been fired. He was lied to.

Christie, a politician, actually taking responsibility, because it happened under his watch. I wonder if a certain person in Washington is watching this.

"I am ultimately responsible for what happens on my watch, the good and the bad" I'll take Things Obama Never Says for $200, Alex.

He got out in front of this thing, handled it properly and shut down the story. I doubt this will hurt him too much if he runs for president. I used to be a fan of his, not so much anymore because of the past couple years. I give him credit for getting out there and facing it.
  • TedSheckler
Christie is still getting drilled (as he should), but I wish the media would grill the other side equally.

Christie fired someone a day after finding out. 16 months after Benghazi, no one has been fired.
