  That is what the poll is, though. And you don't usually get a bounce at the end, only go lower. He's only been GAINING momentum as far as losing popularity and approval. Unfortunately by the time he's done he might be the worst ever without the "since WWII" qualifier.
  
  Oddly enough the only thing that might save him is Repubs taking the Senate. But all signs point to Obama mailing it in even more so, rather than accomplish something for a legacy. Even the leftist media is finding it REALLY hard to continue to defend the guy - they've basically gone from "FAUX NEWS IS LYING!!!!" to "Fox News is making more of it than it is".

  I remember hearing a lot during the Bush years about how you can't intelligently judge a Presidency until at least 10, 20, even 50 years have passed.
  
  I'm just amazed at the average American's ability to form an intelligent opinion on the merits of the current Obama Presidency vs. the performance of Presidents in office before they were born.
  
  Either way, I'm guessing Obama will be ahead of Bush's 25% approval when he leaves office.

  True in the case of W, mainly because we won't didn't know how Iraq would play out 20 years from now, which would have a dramatic impact. Other things on the economic and fiscal front we know much sooner.
  
  In Barry's case, his snatching defeat from the jaws of victory in Iraq probably destroyed two legacies rather than launch his own. All signs point to Obamakare being a failure. His record on jobs is not good, at all. And for the icing on top he's already added about $8T to our debt.
  
  So already plenty in the rearview mirror to see Obama as a failure. And the fact that's he's always seen as campaigning, rather than leading and working with Congress, isn't going to help him.

  That's been the MO of his entire presidency. Obama is only interested in campaigning and hosting celebs. It's much easier to give a speech than it is to actually roll-up your sleeves. I think even his supporters are starting to realize that leadership is more than just giving speeches.

  I'd be really careful about wagering with this guy....you need to agree which "poll" you are going to use. While CBS/USAtoday polls said Bush left office with a sub 30% approval rating, Gallup poll had him leaving at 40% approval rating in January 2009. The nadir of his presidency was 35% in April 2008

  Drudge is having a field day on the immigration debacle. Does this idiotic administration realize that people of both political parties are not in favor of the government's actions? American Blacks are the worst hit by this. And Michelle is touting higher education for all these DREAMers - and who is going to pay for that? And where are the jobs?

  It's a combination of both. You don't have to be a Rhodes Scholar to be a good leader, you just need to hire good people. And Obama's problem is he probably never learned good management/hiring practices because he grew up in the community organizer/academia bubble where loyalty and passion are often valued over talent and ability. It's a world mostly bereft of "do-ers".
  
  Some people ARE natural leaders and can get past that. But for others who've never been exposed to an environment where you roll-up your sleeves and get to work it's a lost cause.
  
  I used to laugh at the whole empty suit/empty chair criticisms. I didn't really see it then, but it's proven to be 100% accurate. Because you CAN be hands-off if you have good people...good people CAN prop-up a poor/ineffective leader...but as we've seen over the past 2 years Obama does not have good people working for him.
