I'd love to hear your opinion on Trump's, the man you wanted, press conference today. A man that ended it early to let his attorney speak for him and can't even form a coherent sentence.

    2020 can't come soon enough.

He made Jimmy Carter look like George Washington.
I don't get this. Trump refers to himself all the time. Shit, he referred to himself in the 3rd person today.
Is that ok with you, or is it more you just like Trump and not Obama?

People will disagree with the President on his legacy, that's fine, and I thought the address was more pep rally than actual address, but I liked parts of it and think we all can agree on a few things.
I think we all can agree his threats to democracy make sense and given the bubble culture and bifurcation of searching for news that only fits our own point of view, makes sense.
We can also agree that his idea for everyone to stay involved in politics and caring about national service and what our lawmakers are doing is essential going forward.

I'm one of the people who think that history will not be kind to him. He was divisive when he didn't have to be, that was one of the huge errors that he made. Also, I can't but think that he didn't give two shits about people outside of Illinois, California and New York.

However, I do agree with the message to not stay in your own echo chambers. Even if you don't like an opposing idea or totally disregard it, it is usually interesting (or even amusing to some extent) to hear them.

Yes, but you probably wouldn't agree that Obama is as responsible for that as anyone. Saying things need to change on your last days, when you had 8 years to change it, is fucking pathetic.

Are you admitting that you took time out of your day to actually sit down, (or stand up... I guess you could have been standing or on your back or jogging or whatever), and listen to what BHO had to say? After all this time and everything he has done you were ok wanting to hear him speak one last time?

    Not me.

BHO is yesterday's news. He is done. Voters finally woke up and he and his party were rejected. Its time to look forward. Goodbye BHO.

I actually would agree he didn't help and actually made things worse. The healthcare law handing that over to Congress, not being very receptive to Congress, and ignoring/ not seeing a lot of the misgiving that led to Trump were his faults.

Out of respect for the office, yes I did watch the last remarks of the sitting President. I did the same for Bush, Clinton, and I vaguely remember HW's.

He's the greatest African American President of my lifetime. Maybe Michelle can top him but I doubt it.

The problem is that message, ironically, ONLY applies to those OTHER echo chambers.

We live in interesting times. You can't disagree with people anymore and we have a cheeto as President.

Good point. Obama is a D and D's are bad.

    Grow up.

He's going to be a rockstar. He remains a very popular, if mediocre, POTUS. Hillary is deplorable and Bill has one foot in the grave - the left needs a new Slick Willy...and that clearly is going to be Obama.

Bill Clinton wasn't nearly as good of a POTUS as made out to be. In the immediate years after, he was seen as largely staying out of the way of the Dot.com boom before handing off a big recession inducing tech bubble to W. And he's largely escaped blame for his role in the housing meltdown.

Like Willy, Obama gives a good speech and is very likable. And so his accomplishments will be white-washed and overstated.

I do not have great personal affinity for either; all I care about is getting as much government out of our lives as possible, and developing a real economic growth plan.

I do though, enjoy the media beatdowns Trump is dishing out .....................overdue and well-deserved.

I don't think this is a good thing. I didn't like it when Obama did it, and Trump appears heading towards completely shutting out any media that questions or disagrees with him. That COULD be a catalyst for responsible change in the media, but more than likely it will just make those hacks MORE partisan.

You look at Trump going after CNN, and it really does parallel Obama and Fox (albeit, Trump is far more unpolished and low-brow). It's the opposite of accountability - it's a deliberate effort to discredit and dismiss opposition. The left has been doing this to conservative media for years, and now that the shoe is on the other foot they're crying like never seen. Because, again, they are blind to their own hypocrisy and agendas.

The majority of Americans are fed up with the bias of the mainstream media ...... all polls indicate that to be quite true. It may take an outsider like Trump, who doesn't give a shit, to call them out on it and begin the process necessary to return the media to its true role. It has been proven that the major media is in bed with BIG government and the democrat party; they are all 3 part and parcel of each other. That is one of the swamps to be drained, perhaps the most important for the sake of the republic.

It doesn't matter to me that he is a "D" and I don't think that all "D"'s are bad either. However, if the "D" leaders are continuing to say today, (especially after having gone down to defeat so many times in recent history), the same things they have been saying in the past, it is a waste of time to listen to them speak.

You tell me to grow up. I say that the "D"'s have grown up so much that they are now old and irrelevant.

Looks like some of Obama's chickens are coming home to roost...

EPA does not get to decide whether compliance with (the law) is good policy, or would lead to too many difficulties for the agency," Bailey wrote. "It is time for the EPA to recognize that Congress makes the law, and EPA must not only enforce the law, it must obey it.

It's going to be interesting to see how long Obama can restrain himself from openly criticizing Trump and undermining him

Cool. Thanks for confirming it is just you like Trump more than Obama. Thought so.

Fine line man, as gut has pointed out. There is still freedom of the press. Sure, Trump can and should call out news reports that is BS, but on the flip side, the President elect goes all fast and loose with some facts most of the time. The press should be able to call him out on that. If they do, and are correct, he cannot have personal vendettas or grudges toward members of the press. That is not how it works.

As they should. He is a former President and deserves the respect of the office.
Same goes for Carter, HW Bush, Clinton, and W Bush.

Question is whether Obama will use it, or be more like W. Bush, and hang back, rarely commenting.
