Disgusted with obama administration - Part II

And I don't see eye to eye with you on a lot of things, but I do this. Personal responsibility is personal responsibility. It's comical to take a stance along the lines of loudly yelling about gun rights because "blame the criminal, not the tool" when someone starts blowing others away, while at the same time demanding that a drug most states look at possession of as a minor misdemeanor stay illegal because of fears of it being a gateway, aka: "blame the tool".HitsRus;1754672 wrote:Whether you are talking about alcohol, guns, or marijuana, it involves individual responsibility. There are a lot of things we do in life that are fraught with danger, and can be abused. You either believe in liberty and personal responsibility, and minimal government interference or you don't. If you are going to cherry pick liberties, and allow for some but not for others, then you are merely giving lip service to the concept.
Sorry Quaker , you and I see eye to eye on most things… But not this.
For the record, I don't smoke.
The sort of hypocrisy that turns a person's stance of being in favor of individual liberty into just being in favor of getting what they personally want and not actually caring about said liberty beyond the tip of their own nose. -

No worries; I can handle it. -
gutholy crap....Obama on now dusting off his favorite old playbook of deflecting blame, even circling back to blaming Bush. Unreal. Same 'ol trope - deflecting criticism saying "no one else has a better idea", ignoring that he's elected to have THE solution...along with the usual excuses for factors out of his control.
This borders on being an SNL self-parody skit. wow, just wow -
gut"there's a difference between running for POTUS and being POTUS"
you don't say.... -
QuakerOatsToday's links from Drudge:
Record 94,610,000 Americans Not in Labor Force...
Participation Rate Lowest Since 1977...
Record 56,647,000 Women Not Working...
Jobs Up ONLY For IMMIGRANTS; Down 262,000 For 'Native-Borns'...
'Payrolls Disaster'...
'Fed never going to raise rates'...
IT'S UGLY!
Nothing to see here ....... move along

CenterBHSFanI believe in having the liberties that our Constitution guarantees us, but that doesn't mean I cannot pick and choose what I *think* is the good and the bad under that umbrella. It has nothing to do with hypocrisy, IMO, and doing otherwise is just zealotry. Again, that's just my opinion.
Issue 3
I will be skipping the Issue 3 vote for two reasons. 1.) I'm fairly ambivalent about it and 2.) I don't like how it is currently written. I don't know how anybody who has read it could actually like it; unless you want it so bad that you are ready to disregard the problems with it in order to have it as law (think Obamacare), but that's another topic. -
QuakerOatsHopefully Issue 2 passes, which would make the outcome of Issue 3 moot.

It would also generate expensive litigation over whether or not the State's Casinos were legally allowed to operate since they were granted monopolies by Constitutional Amendment.QuakerOats;1755444 wrote:Hopefully Issue 2 passes, which would make the outcome of Issue 3 moot.
But again, just want to point out that you are FOS when you say you care about liberty. -
QuakerOatsLiberty doesn't mean you can do whatever the hell you want, whenever the hell you want; there is some responsibility that goes along with it.
And I'm tired of radicals hijacking the Ohio Constitution, such as the minimum wage amendment. That is complete bullshit. -

And yet you demand big government use the threat of guns and cages to compel responsibility. Are you in capable of self-government?QuakerOats;1755516 wrote:Liberty doesn't mean you can do whatever the hell you want, whenever the hell you want; there is some responsibility that goes along with it.

QuakerOatsI'm not; how about you?
Incapable is one word, btw. -

QuakerOatsYou favor the hijacking of the Ohio Constitution by liberal elites despite the reasoned opposition from health officials, the business community, elected officials from both parties, the Ohio Libertarian Party, Ohio Farm Bureau, educators, and law enforcement.
I get that. -

And responsibility doesn't equal your personal belief system of picking and choosing, either.QuakerOats;1755516 wrote:Liberty doesn't mean you can do whatever the hell you want, whenever the hell you want; there is some responsibility that goes along with it.

Women want to have abortions? NO LIBERTY!!! RIGHT TO LIFE!!! RIGHT TO LIFE!!!!
People want to enjoy marijuana? NO LIBERTY!!!! GATEWAY DRUG!!! GATEWAY DRUG!!!!
People routinely shoot the fuck out of places? LIBERTY!!!! LIBERTY!!!! DON'T TOUCH OUR GUNS!!!!!
Interesting how you're adamantly against the lesser "evils", but when the greater evils happen, take more of a "well, people are messed up, what can you do?" mindset. -
QuakerOatsoh boy; I thought it was BS that may have called 911, but maybe it was you ??

Wolves of Babylon
You are being intellectually dishonest as you know no one is talking about issue 3 but the overall issue of marijuana being illegal. The Libertarian party platform does not support the criminalization of marijuana.QuakerOats;1755767 wrote:You favor the hijacking of the Ohio Constitution by liberal elites despite the reasoned opposition from health officials, the business community, elected officials from both parties, the Ohio Libertarian Party, Ohio Farm Bureau, educators, and law enforcement.
I get that.
Issue 3 has flaws and a better bill should be presented.

QuakerOatsSee post # 3252; I believe it all started with Issue 3 as referenced there.
Beyond that, most officials, groups, and organizations in positions of responsibility oppose the Issue and the legalization. -

No, you see, the true meaning of unobtrusive government and individual liberty is that what the people want shouldn't matter when "officials, groups and organizations in positions of responsibility" have a different opinion.Wolves of Babylon;1755967 wrote:Prepare for end of the world

I mean, sure, when those "officials, groups and organizations in positions of responsibilty" are left-wing in nature and make comments about, oh, I dunno, guns and shit, his stance on their opinion is completely different (after all, Obama is an official in a position of responsibility, but I don't see Quaker hanging off his every word), but what's a little hypocrisy between friends? -
QuakerOatsMost were gifted with a brain and a conscience to make reasoned judgments. It is not an all-or-nothing argument, as much as you wish it to be.
Good luck. -

This statement rings louder everyday. Since Obama mocked Romney at that debate he not only has found himself butting heads with the Russians on diplomatic or "geopolitical" as Romney referred, to providing training and war materials to forces that have actively engaged in protracted combat with the Russian military.like_that;1754264 wrote:Remember when everyone (liberals) jerked off to Obama ridiculing Romney at the debate for his comments about Russia? -
