David Petraeus resigns as CIA director

  • ptown_trojans_1
In a shocking story, the Director of the CIA, famed former General Petraeus resigned yesterday from the CIA, citing an affair her had.

This has shady written all over it.
Maybe someone had an axe to grind on it, but the timing is very suspect.

I suspect the notion that this will allow the administration to throw him under the bus for the Libya disaster.

This town has a history of this. Shocking.
I have a feeling there is way more to this.

Shady? Naw, his resignation immediately prior to his testimony on Banghazi is nothing more than mere coincidence. What's cool about it is he's NOT going to testify now, but his wife is none too happy about it I'm sure.

Whew....that worked out well, eh?

    Amazing timing.

    Subpoena him.

If he can't cover-up an affair he has no business working in the Obama administration

I'm shocked, SHOCKED, I tell you. You mean this administration would use normal DC politics to sidestep a major issue just after reelection?

So, the more you read into this, less likely it seems it was because of Libya.
It appears the former General had an affair with his biographer.
He gave access to his personal Gmail account to her, which sent up some red flags.
The FBI was looking into another matter regarding possible intrusions and stumbled across the bombshell.

So, essentially, he was compromised, as news of the affair appeared to have been used against him. In addition, his Gmail information could have been compromised and used by let's say the Chinese to try and obtain information about the D/CIA.

Bottom line, the more I read into this, the more it seems Petreaus really screwed up and allowed himself to be put in this spot. And, he had to resign as pretty much, he was compromised. We cannot have the head of the CIA stay on with these lapse of security. It is grounds to have his TSI-SC pulled.

Good to see the FBI doing their job in cyber security.

    I honestly think so.

Now who sent the email to him is an interesting question.
But, all evidence so far points to him really screwing up and allowing his Gmail to be compromised.

It does nothing to the whole Libya crowd, but then again, I highly doubt much will satify them.

Let me see if I understand this.

General Petraeus - a highly trained military professional with a supposed thorough understanding of national security matters and the current head of the CIA - gives access to his personal G-friggin-mail account to his married slut concubine and never gives a thought to the fact that this is a dumb fucking idea...and all the while his "voluntary" resignation occurs just 2 days after his boss's re-election and just a week before he was scheduled to testify about the Benghazi scandal but no longer has to testify due to his timely resignation...and this is all just pure coincidence?

I honestly don't know what magic is in the Obama Kool Aid but that shit is apparently pretty fuggin tasty.

99% of certain Philly precincts and the Obama-loving media think so anyway.

We have secure communications via Gmail? for real? Not sure I really understand why a personal gmail account is a national security risk. I might see HAVING one as a potential issue, but how does a personal gmail account become compromised? Isn't that kind of redundant?

On a side not, that biographer is a hot little piece

LMAO, I've worked for relatively small companies that had Gmail fire-walled.

haha I actually have a Gmail account but I'm not stupid enough to believe it's secure and I sure as hell am not going to give my concubine my password. lol.

It seems more of a cover story for the resignation than anything else. I would expect the MSM propagandists to sell it 100%.

No question about it. I've never seen the MSM so in bed with a POTUS in my lifetime.

This is all about the affair the lapse of security to his Gmail.

And to those knocking the Gmail, go back and read the Post article detailing how the Chinese can obtain information from it.
And yes, I do think he was that dumb.

I am not one of the tinfoil hat people on here who are batting 1000% right now.

It is not a cover-up. If it is, show me evidence that it is. Until then, keep your tinfoil hats.
  • HitsRus
Spare me the tinfoil hats crap. I don't think it's too much to ask to have the good general testify under oath about Benghazi. I don't see why he gets to dodge that. Can you give me a reason? I would think all Americans would want to know what happened there...why a 4 Americans died there, including a bright, young ambassador, and two very brave Navy Seals.
I'd want to hear it from a guy in charge not from a deputy that may not have been personally involved.

Pure coincidence. The timing is what it is. Absolutely nothing to do with Benghazi whatsoever. Got it.

We wear tin foil hats over fly over country and you live way too close to the Kool Aid.

There's balance in the rampant lunacy to be sure.

Willard somewhere has to be beating his head into the wall this story didn't come out last week instead of this week. Nothing like a good scandal to cast doubt on the current administration.

We don't really ever "know" our public officials, but Patraeus is low on the list of people I would have pegged for an affair type of scandal. The type of mental discipline required for the career he has had is extraordinary, and you'd think he would have no problem with such a benign task as keeping it in his pants.

2nd term scandals are common place in American politics anymore, nice to see BHO's administration is getting a good jump on it. They didn't even wait until after the inauguration.

Awfully convenient timing, don't you think? No way the FBI found this out in the time after the election, so that means the FBI withheld the information until after the election to not hurt Obama. Not surprising.

    Nope. Pure coincidence.
