I said that last election. So much of a population in a state loses out because of the density in cities.

Some states do, but the same candidate typically wins all the EV in a state.

MSNBC just called Minnesota for Obama

FL could be coming back...probably a tease. But within 10k votes I'd think Romney could take that with the military/overseas ballots.

So where do the Republicans go from here? They have to find a way to attract more of the youth vote and more of the minority vote.

Todd Akin now on tv doing his concession speech. Social Conservatism taking a hit tonight
  • IggyPride00
Obama has a 90,000 vote lead and Cuyahoga county is only 30% in. Akron is only 60% in.

That is a massive problem for Romney right now.

Hamilton county is a pretty much split right now when it needs to be 65/35 Romney.

This is not good for him at all.

A warmonger, police state Republican will never again win a national election.

Social conservatism has been dying a slow death.

This election is about socialism and govt dependence. People want to be like Europe. I really think everything else is noise - the changing demographics are such that they think the European model works. How do you combat that with the media and our universities mostly in the bag for it? You can't, we will have to go down that path and fail for ourselves.

I agree and that is a good thing. Hopefully the Neo Con/Establishment group will fade away in obscurity now.

In exit polls a large majority, I think around 60% believed the government does too much and wanted smaller government. Many of them voted for Obama.

no matter who wins, this could be the closest election in history, both ways.

I agree, only when we fall we'll fall a lot harder. Young people have been conditioned to rely on the government, they don't see anything wrong with Big Brother taking care of them. I really am not going to enjoy the coming years.

wanting smaller government and voting for Democrats is like a gun owner voting for Democrats. It just doesn't compute.

Unfortunately I think you are right. I do think that we either had to take the road of choosing to take the hard road or be forced into failure. Obviously you know over our discussions I did not like either candidate but I think we agree that we are definitely going to take a big hit soon and people are going to be in for a rude awakening.

It's Rubio in 2016. No one else has a chance.

Find a way to change the culture of the electorate, otherwise to be relevant the Repubs are going to have to sell their own brand of socialism. Capitalism, self-reliance and individualism are dead.

Mitt within 1 point now in Ohio.

it's because Mitt Romney is Barrack Obama, he's just more black (bigger family - h/t Chris Rock). If you want small gov't but have two big gov't candidates, why not go for the one who is at least socially accepting of all people (Obama)? If the Rs would have nominated an actual small gov't candidate, maybe things would have been different

That's what happens when you run fucking Mitt Romney. People were saying back in the primaries that the lineup of turds the R's had was going to kill them regardless of nominee.
